Starbury Can't Avoid Meteorite (Get rid of him)!
2008-07-15 15:57:00 I think New York fans aren't going to have to deal with Stephon Marbury next season. Mike D'Antoni doesn't like him, Walsh acts like he wants him to hit the road and I think he shouldn't let the door hit him on the way out!This guy should be bought out. I don't think he's tradeable and this will help the cap space situation. Can he get another gig? I think so, he could go to a place where he's not #1 (kind of like Rasheed, but not for a title). Could he go to Europe, like he said is in his plans? I don't think it's likely, he couldn't handle it. I would like to see him go to Milwaukee or Cleveland. If he plays to his potential, it would be a steal for the Bucks. If the Cavs had him, maybe LeBron could get him to put his money where his mouth is.Wherever he goes, just get him out of New York! If you search, "stephon marbury out of new york," on Google, you get 309,000 results for a reason!
3 Pointers, Triple Doubles & Starbury
2007-12-05 18:43:00 An article at thestar.com discusses "how to succeed in the NBA" and looks at the fact that the league in general is heading towards a record-breaking season in terms of 3 pointers hoisted up. According to the report the average team has attempted 36 three-point shots per game, which is about 5 more attempts a game than five years ago. Five years ago saw the arrival of Steve Nash to the Phoenix Suns and this style of play has certainly seen a lot of 3 point shots taken.In terms of triple doubles, ESPN.com has a look at whether or not King James and J-Kidd can average that for a season. The legendary Oscar Robertson did this, with an impressive 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists back in 1961-62. Kidd has 11.6 points, 10.7 assists and 8.6 rebounds this season. Lebron has 30.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists. Both guys are surely capable of doing it, but will need to pick up their overall production. Lebron is currently sidelined with a finger/hand injury. The ESP...

Starbury’s Giveback Day: Dumb Ass Sports Star
2007-07-19 15:03:00 Starbury wants to average 10 points, 12-13 dimes, 2-3 assists, and 4-5 rebounds, huh? Remember he is doing it for the kids, but I want whatever drug he’s on in that comrade atmosphere? My sister Stephanie, that’s my namesake, that’s what she is to me…that’s my daughter name…she been praying for this forever and it finally happened yesterday when I kissed her, I felt her body and I felt her soul. I was delighted to be kissing her. I couldn’t even cry because I knew they were gonna be happy tears so I was able to control them. You know, you really cry when you really bad stuff. Bookmark to:

Starbury = Beckham
2007-07-19 01:37:00 In one of the most hilarious sports stories I've read all week, it is being reported that Stephon Marbury has announced he would like to play in Italy at the end of his current contract with the New York Knicks. That little tidbit isn't even news. Marbury hasn't really been a good player in the

Starbury Wants Some Kobe
2007-06-18 06:25:00 Stephon Marbury wants two things—Kobe Bryant as a teammate, and more reading. Earlier this week he took steps towards making those two things happen. First let’s start with Kobe. On Saturday Marbury said it would be good for the NBA to have Kobe play in New York, and he publicly stated that he would love for Isiah Thomas to acquire the Lakers star. Marbury probably sees Kobe’s arrival as the best way to stop Nate Robinson and Steve Francis from getting playing time (and wisely so). However, before he starts leaving inviting messages on Kobe’s MySpace Page, he may want to familiarize himself with the number of field goals per game Kobe has attempted over the last three seasons. That stat may make the trade seem a little less worthwhile. Saturday also marked the start of the 11th annual “Stephon Marbury Basketball Classic”, Marbury’s summer basketball tournament for New York City schoolchildren. This year the tournament has a new rule&m...

Knicks' Franchise & Starbury Awakened...At Last [J. Mark English]
2007-03-05 15:41:00 Its a word hardly ever used around Knick circles anymore...but lets throw it out there. Could there be optimism in Knick land?With a season ending injury to Jamal Crawford, people had already placed a fork in the New York Knicks. One week later, and a small two game winning streak has the town talking a new buzz about the thriving play between the once desolate tandem of Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis.I was at a bar in Hoboken Saturday night, and maybe it was the beer, but people in the bar were reacting with feverish zeal for the Knicks. The bar was really into the game, and it was a feeling I had not felt for the Knicks in a long time.Marc Berman writes in the New York Post:After 61 games, the Knicks have come full circle. They are back to where they started in training camp: optimistic the backcourt tandem of Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis can carry them to the playoffs. Marbury is playing at such a high level, on both ends, playing with such focus, such smarts, such re...
