Before I had access to my checking account online, I used to scour my account to make sure the total was exactly correct. If I was off by even 1 cent, I would have to figure out where I was off.Naturally, I also like seeing how many people visit my blog each day. Google Analytics is a great program for all of my number geeky-ness (is this a word?) in that I can compare the number of visitors from one month to the next and see where visitors came from. It is a question that I don't know the answer to. The data that I read seems to indicate that in our local market, we are closer to the end of the downturn than the beginning, but I think it would be premature to say that we are in the rebound stage. Hawaii in general and Oahu in particular seems to have been uniquely positioned to better weather the financial storm that descended into the real estate market over the past few years. Factors benefiting Oahu seem to be the combination of employment, supply versus demand of housing and a lower than average number of subprime mortgages. Las Vegas homes continued to decrease in price.Las Vegas properties owned by banks account for half the sales each month. The total number of Las Vegas single family homes sold for April were 1,794. That is an increase of 21.4 percent over March sales of 1,478 homes. Las Vegas condos and townhomes sold were 212 units in April, up 7.1 percent over March's total of 198 sales. Las Vegas homes had a decrease in price of 3% from $243,169 to $235,875 in April. Down 28.4 percent from last April. |
