Stephen Fry loving the Glofish x800
2008-01-05 10:08:00
It was great to see in today's Guardian Stephen Fry's article on Smartphone devices and particularly his thoughts on the Glofish X800. Stephen doesn't seem to be the greatest fan of Windows Mobile.. Now, I have to say I'm not a fan of Windows for mobiles - all those maddeningly small menus, submenus and fiddly nested commands torment me almost beyond endurance, as do the horrors of trying to synchronise with anything other than a PC. Were it not for Missing Sync's suite of programs that allow powerful and controllable syncing between Macs and mobile operating systems, I'd be in a home by now. For all that, I've lived for weeks using HTC and Palm devices that run WM5 and WM6, and I happily concede that Microsoft's cut-down OS does have strengths. In his article though he is reviewing the Glofish X800 and seems to really like it. The device is attractively designed with delightful red accents on the lenses; it is pleasant to hold, to heft and, for the most part, to operate....
Absolute Power
2007-12-26 04:54:00
Some of my favorite sitcoms are British. In the lines of Black adder and Yes minister/ Prime minister comes another good one that I found. Absolute power is based on a fictional PR firm with Stephen Fry in the lead role. Fry does a brilliant job and the series never really gets boring how many ...
Stephen Fry Guardian Column

Stephen Fry is a comedian/writer/actor/film director and many more things.... He is also a total Geek when it comes to Technology!  He owned the second ever Mac and claims to have not ever been able to stop himself buying the latest Smartphones! (a man after my own heart) I blogged about his article sometime back on all things Mobile but now as well as his fascinating blog he has also just started a Technology article each week in the Guardian.  I loved part of his first article ... What do I think is the point of a digital device? Is it all about function? Or am I a "style over substance" kind of a guy? Well, that last question will get my hackles up every time. As if style and substance are at war! As if a device can function if it has no style. As if a device can be called stylish that does not function superbly. Don't get me started ... The English butler alarm clock featuring Stephen Fry.

Not long ago we had an e-mail to Smart Stuff from Simon Carr, the inventor of the alarm clock above. After considering its features we decided to publish it here on Cool Finds, instead. With all due respect to Mr. Carr, we don't really think it's Smart Stuff stuff. But. We do think its wake up messages recorded by Stephen Fry are very, very funny indeed. Mr. Fry, being a long time favourite, has recorded fifty messages for the clock, and a few of them are available for play-back on the site. Try the one above for a quick sample. The Voco clock is GBP 25:95 (approx. USD 50:-) on the Voco website.
EXCLUSIVE! 20 seconds with Stephen Fry.

We love Stephen Fry. He, quite frankly, is awesome. One of us even has a framed, signed photo of him in their bedroom. And now we love him even more as he’s taken a whole 20 seconds of his life to answer our questions about Harry Potter. For those of you who are desperately unhip (or ...

Derren Brown does a card trick for Stephen Fry, who promptly swears and flips out.Really great! And if you watch closely, you can see some slight of hand that Stephen can't!
