Porque bien pudo haberse llamado Stars of CCTV – Pt. 2 sin problema. Y como dicen, las segundas partes nunca fueron buenas. Después del gran éxito del debut de Hard-Fi (nominado al Mercury Music Prize en 2005), Richard Archer quiso repetir el éxito del disco haciendo exactamente lo mismo. Grabado en la misma ciudad, misma producción, mismos colores del disco, mismas letras, mismas canciones pero con sección de cuerdas añadida. Y mientras en el primer disco Archer cantaba acerca de la aburrida vida suburbana y el descontento social de la clase media británica con pasión y un sonido refrescante, tratar de hacer lo mismo después de haberse vuelto rico y famoso (al menos en Europa) es algo que ni él se cree. 2007-10-15 21:19:00 To celebrate "Pull the Pin"'s UK release, here's a live vid of Stereophonics performing "I'm Only Sleeping" with some help from Oasis.It'll be a while before this album shows up in the US, but the songs are streaming everywhere. My quick take on the whole album: I enjoyed it, but I really wished they hung on to more of the edge they picked up on their last album. The only place where the really try to go back to that sound is "Bank Holiday Monday", and once you've heard that song enough times, it really stops being convincing and doesn't sound as bad-ass as it wants you to think it is. Even though they eased up a little, they're still not nearly as limp as they were on album #4, which is always a good thing. Standouts: "Soldiers Make Good Targets", "Stone", "Drowning", "Lady Luck", and "Crush".

Recorded them in the same studio as we did the Beatles track. - all live one takes. How it was meant to be. Also thanks to everyone who showed their faces at the recent shows in Germany/Holland & Norwich. Reminded me of the club gigs we did in the UK for LSVO. We had a ball, and it was great to be on the road again. It's where we're at our best. Did a couple of award shows too over the last month, the Vodafone Live Music awards & then the Q awards on Monday where it was great to see all the artists/musicians in a room enjoying each others company. So, while I'm sitting my ass on an Amsterdam hotel chair between interviews, I have been kindly'persuaded' to write a diary entry.....you have to love our management?.hehe.Well, we've been up to lots of things since we last touched base. After we did a couple of warm up gigs in the UK, we took our bags to uncharted territories. The first one to welcome us was Russia. We did a gig in Moscow and even had a bit of time to stroll around the city and do the usual touristy things. So loads of souvenir military hats, Matrioshka dolls, and vodka; which was extremely welcoming! Up to the point where you can wake up the next day, still drunk on it; and collapse in the middle of the Red Square. If you are gonna do it, do it with style.
