Erawan Shrine in Bangkok
2008-05-29 19:40:00 The Erawan Shrine (in Thai called "San Pra Phom) is located beside the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel area and it's close to Central World, the Police Hospital, Gaysorn Plaza, BTS station, etc. Many people and travelers visit the Erawan Shrine in order to pay the homage to the Pra Bhom and they also make wishes about love, money, family, etc.I had a chance to take some photos because I attended my training course in the Marriott Hotel on Sukhumvit Rd so I had free time in the evening to take photos from this place.I will continue posting some photos from The Erawan Shrine : )For more information please see from these following links:http://en.wikipedia.org/w-iki/Erawan_Shrinehttp://www.tha-ilandguidebook.com/erawanshrine-.htmlHave a nice day.Cheers,DSM

Apple Wedges
2008-04-11 05:55:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)6" high x 6" wideClick here to bidToday a quickie. Basic shapes and easy brushwork, no detail at all. No more than 15 minutes (that gives you an idea of how fast my brushwork goes sometimes!). The background I wanted it to be purple for some weird reason I wanted to paint with purple today, but quite didn't like it. Afraid that I was going to ruin the apples I didn't wipe anything off, just grabbed prussian blue from my palette and mixed them together. I like the contrast. Dark shadows give drama to the whole scene, and that's exactly the light source I had.Painting is listed at my private auction site (click the above link to bid or register for free) for 48 hours only. Still Life
2008-04-08 03:57:00 Still Life. This is my first real attempt in shooting a still life photograph. Still life photography is the art of putting inanimate objects together in an artificial setting or purposefully arranging related objects together, or at least that is how I understood it. I admit, this one was difficult. Lighting was important to create a good effect and I had a really hard time. I wish I had a studio (wishful thinking). It took me more than an hour to shoot this one (Whew!). I shot this in a very dark room and used only one light source. I tried backlighting it to minimize the glare, but apparently was quite unsuccessful. I think I shall practice shooting some more.

2008-02-26 01:19:00 "Capsicums Reflections"click for larger viewStill Life SeriesPainting with Light and Natural FormCertified Original Oil Paintings copyright 2008 MkM___________________________H-istory of the CapsicumsBell pepper is a cultivar group of the species Capsicum annuum. Cultivars of the plant produce fruits in different colors, including red, yellow, green and orange. Bell peppers contain a recessive gene that prevents capsaicin from being produced, so they lack the spiciness that many other varieties of peppers have[citation needed]. Bell peppers are sometimes grouped with less pungent pepper varieties as "sweet peppers".The term "bell pepper" is one of the many names for some fruits of the Capsicum annuum species of plants. The misleading name "pepper" (pimiento in Spanish) was given by Christopher Columbus upon bringing the plant back to Europe. At that time peppercorns were a highly prized condiment.Today, the term "bell pepper" or "pepper" or "capsicum" is often used for any of the la...

I do this because I have the tendency to stop on little details instead of just loose my hand and 'feel' the paint on my brush. So a loose painting here and there is always a great experience. I admit I'm very boring with flowers. I like just a few and don't go out of my selection very often, but this time I went completely overboard! I painted blue irises. Legend has it that, while on a trip to Spain, Forrest Mars Sr. encountered soldiers who were eating pellets of chocolate encased in a hard sugary coating. This prevented it from melting. Inspired by this idea, Mr Mars went back to his kitchen and invented the recipe for M and M's Plain Chocolate Candies.M and M's were first sold in the United States in 1941. Tak-Bath
2008-01-21 01:17:00 Buddhist people have a relationship between their life and Buddhism all their life. I just took photos about life of Buddhist people.Tak-Bath (Thai word) is the way to give food offerings to Buddhist monks. Buddhists normally do "Tak-Bath" frequently because this is the way to support Buddhist monks and Buddhism. Moreover, they do believe that the food that they offer to monks will be distributed to the passed away relatives too. Tak-Bath normally does in the morning. Buddhist monks come from temples and walk into villages in order to get Tak-Bath food from People. People will offer food to the monks and get blessing from the monks.

Christmas Ornaments I
2007-12-11 18:07:00 Oil on Gessoed Hardboard (Masonite)6" high x 6" wideClick here to bidWe finally after two days of work, were able to decorate the entire house (3800 sq. ft.) for Christmas. It was hard work I tell you that! but so worth it! as I was decorating the tree with the kids, I got inspired to make for the first time in my life, some simple oil paintings of some of my ornaments, glass balls, poinsettia flowers and ribbons, so I took quite a few picture reference for these small paintings. To purchase the first one of my small Christmas Ornaments Series which features a glittered red poinsettia and gold necklace click the link above to place your bid on my private auction site.
