Scary Street Art for the Unsuspecting Public
2008-06-10 14:19:00 Mark Jenkins is an American artist specializing in street installations. He has created many projects and is mostly known for his work created with clear packing tape. He makes items such as babies, small children, adults and animals. He then places them out in the public, usually on busy streets. This is usually when unsuspecting people pass by, wondering what they are looking at. His work seems to be mostly displayed in New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

The History of Guerrilla Marketing: Part One in an Eight-Part WebUrbanist G

Floral street art of Fucecchio, Tuscany

2008-04-10 15:06:00 Es ist schon Wahnsinn, was so einige Künstler der Street Art Szene da so auf den Boden zaubern. Was heraus kommen kann, wenn sich ...
New book, must get: Street Art and the War on Terror: How the World's Best
2008-04-07 14:00:00 Forgive my brevity, but another great book has hit the shelves of fine bookstores everywhere. Street Art and the War on Terror: How the World's Best Graffiti Artists Said No to the Iraq War by Eleanor Mathieson and Xavier Tapies, is full of amazing images and graphics from around the world, all of them offering commentary and confrontation to perhaps the most unpopular war ever launched. From Revolution Books: This fantastic book documents with dozens and dozens of color photos the explosion artistic expression of global opposition to the Bush regime?s ?war on terror?. Perhaps if they send us a copy I'll be able to offer more of a description and review...
Glow In The Dark Graffiti Makes Street Art Rave-tastic [Graffiti]
2008-04-06 04:00:00 Every aspiring Banksy has run into the same problem at some point in time—he or she has defaced public property beautifully, but no one wandering the area at night can see it. With the power of design brand Suck UK's glow in the dark Graffiti, however, this quandary will affect the noble street artist no more. Now every miscreant's scribbles will be admired by the general public, no matter what time it is. No word on pricing, but the product should be available soon. [Suck UK]

Plastic bags become street art
2008-03-30 03:02:00 Otherwise overlooked as trash, this street artist utilizes leftover plastic bags to create inflatable animals. By using ventilation grates, the plastic bag animals are tied down and remain deflated until air begins to flow through. The result is an incredibly creative approach to an inflatable street sculpture. Joshua Allen Harris (the artist) sent the Wooster Collective video of the installation that can be viewed here and here.

Street Art!
2008-03-09 16:26:00 Now then, here's something a little bit different, have you ever heard of and artist called Julian Beever? Maybe, he's often called the 'Pavement Picasso' for a lot of his works of are appear on pavements all over Europe. The enormous 3D pavement sketchings that bring his art well and truly to the streets are a wonderful sight to behold. It was while working with a Punch & Judy show in York that Julian Beever saw other pavement artists and first became inspired to give pavement art a go. The 3D aspect to his work came much later while he was working in Brussels, "I decided to get into 3D after seeing the effect of tiles being removed from the street, and later trying to recreate the sense of depth in a drawing. Once I realised you could make things go down, I realised you could make them appear to go up and I began experimenting."Julian works in chalk, so his art, which takes up to 3 days to complete, is only there as long as the elements allow, "If it rains it means I've do...
