Massage for anxiety and stress relief
2008-07-05 19:06:00 Is massage therapy any good for anxiety? Massages have been around for years. It is one of those treatments that like acupuncture can be traced back through the ages. In fact it is probably even older than acupuncture - after all to place your hands on some part of your own or someone else's body that is in pain or trauma is one of the most natural thing. Research on the therapeutic efficacy of massage is fairly thin on the ground. Of course practitioners swear by it and certainly so do some clients. There is no doubt that it can be helpful for muscular injuries, but is it any good for anxiety, stress or any other mental health problem? The answer is that temporarily speaking it probably is of some use. Research has found that the touch of another human being is calming and so in times of stress and anxiety this is likely to be helpful. And of course feeling a hand on your back, especially when it belongs to someone who cares about you, is bound to make the horror of a panic attac...

I asked why he wanted to migrate. "There are lots of problems in the country. I want to give the best education to my children. I asked "what do you want them to be in the future"? He was not sure. "After all I want to live in peace" was his answer. My friend is not the only person who decided to migrate for peace of mind. There were so many, there will be too. This conversation provided me some insight as to how some people take serious decisions in their lives in search of peace and 'contentment. People migrate to greener pastures citing various aim to do so. Some people within the country mostly towards cities. Those who live in cities go to villages to get away from the busy life....

How To Reduce Stress
2008-05-31 14:32:00 1- Pray 2- Go to bed on time. 3- Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed. 4- Say No, to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health. 5- Delegate tasks to capable others. 6- Simplify and unclutter your life. 7- Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.) 8- Allow extra time to do things and to get to places. 9- Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together. 10- Take one day at a time. 11- Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you to do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it. 12- Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases. 13- Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc., 14- K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single pi...

Stress time again
2008-05-24 02:45:00 It’s that time of year again. Exams are creeping up suddenly and the amount of stuff I still have to get done seems enormous. Essays, quizzes, practical exams, and that’s before we get to the real, written and oral exams that determine exactly what we’re going to be doing next semester. I generally have mixed feelings about exam time. I know they’re a lot of stress and a big challenge, but at the same time there’s a small element of fun to them (if you think you’re doing okay) and the occasional sleep it is just great. But that will leave me a little short of time for a while, although this blog will still be updated regularly as I tend to procrastinate. Finalists in the Pet Photo Contest will be published for voting on Monday. This is your last chance to send any in, remember there’s $35 and a bunch of Entrecard credits up for grabs!
