The feeling is mutual, Senator McBush (h/t Crooks and Liars)......and it looks like somebody else saw "WALL-E" besides yours truly (minor spoiler alert)......Rachel Maddow pinch hits for K.O. on "Countdown" with more Bush scandals, including ignoring al-Maliki in Iraq to keep our people there, as well as DOJ nonsense and a reconstituted al Qaeda......and by the way, believe it or not, today is the five-year anniversary of the outing of Valerie Plame (my, how time does fly for the cowardly and well-connected).

It's hard to keep up with all of the screwups (being polite here) by our ruling cabal, so here's a bit of a weekend catch-up post, with Rachel Maddow sitting in for K.O.; one item is the politicization of Justice Department hires and a pending lawsuit over the fact that many were passed over because of their political preference......and by the way, what do you want to declare independence from? Speaking only for myself......I want to declare independence from this guy.

So much on the plate mentally speaking, thought wise and idea centric (what?) that I?m just going to start typing again and hope it all comes out in a somewhat cohesive and readable way. And the answer is yes, this is the same way I normally feel and act on Christmas Eve in anticipation of Christmas. So, this being 4th of July Eve, I am all a-flutter with ideas to share and anticipation to, uh, anticipate?First off, I need to apologize to all of you for forgetting that July 2nd was Mullet Day. While I do not have a mullet, I feel it?s my responsibility to share such a holiday with you. Is it because I might be the least bit tempted to make 101 mullet jokes and puns? Quite possibly. Just promise me you will accept my apology for letting you down by inadvertently forgetting such a potentially great fake holiday. However, I did not forget to tell you that today is Air Conditioning Day. I?m not sure if July 3rd has been researched and found as statistically being the most-used indoor coo...

Kudos to him, actually (now wait for the "other shoe to drop")......and by the way, Crooks and Liars tells us here that the Federal Marriage Amendment, which of course would ban gay marriage (an amendment I don't support, by the way - call me whatever names you want, within reason) was reintroduced this week; that's ridiculous enough, but two of the original sponsors were "Diaper Dave" Vitter and Larry Craig, so with that in mind, here's a "tribute" to Senator Wide Stance, who gets a mention in this spoof of Baba Wawa's book (long setup, I know)......and this has been cracking me up all day (h/t Avedon Carol)......and finally, how awesome is Russ Feingold anyway (h/t The Daily Kos).

When you're all caught up on the stories here, and waiting for the next installment of pure terror, why not take a break and read some of my other work? You could read Thinking The Lions find out how my vacation to Orlando went -- and answer the question about whether airport security allows Oreos or not. Or maybe you'd rather give some thought to how civilization collapsed because of Prince and George Michael, and how we can't rebuild it because of "The Bad Touch." Want to know what all that means? Read The Best of Everything. Can Denver Broncos fans read? I'm not so sure. Nonsportsmanlike Conduct! investigates and counts down to football season.

I see from the news today that more and more people are taking to horseback riding as an alternative to paying high gas prices (or maybe a protest to paying high gas prices?)Those people, along with any other horse owners, and all cowboys, are going to need Horse Accessories to go along with their lifestyle. No self-respecting horse owner can ride around without the accoutrements (oooh, fancy word!) necessary to show how much he or she loves horses.Accessories Unleashed is there for you. They've got all the gear you could ever want to show how much you love your horse. Personalized towels and bags with your horse's picture on it? Got 'em. More Baby Stuff
2008-06-09 10:29:00
Yesterday Miguel and I went to a few yard sales part of a community effort in Downey. We stopped at as many as we could to get baby stuff we needed. We managed to buy a bunch of clothes for under $20 and a swing for $30. Quite a deal. I also got a VHS video about yoga during pregnancy. not sure when I will get into it though. We even ate tacos and drank lemonade at one of the yard sales. We did not get to go out like I thought we would. Not even to go to Target to check out the glass baby bottles they have. We did at least wash a load of clothes and I made some Fettuccine Alfredo. And now I finally figure that I get more done while Miguel is at work. Today I went shopping with my sister Lena at Rite Aid. I got a box of Kleenex (cuz I used up the last of it last night drying my tears), an energy saving lgiht bulb (since the last one mysteriously burned out), an air freshener (because the last one just did not last long enough), and a 2 Liter bottle of Sunkist for $1, just for Lena....

We just hopped on the DART and 20 minutes later we are in Malahide. About a 10 minute walk and we are in the grounds and ready for the gig.The grounds were huge and there was loads of space to relax and enjoy the gig. They played a wonderful gig, I would pay to see them again tomorrow. Then we walked out hopped on a DART and 20 minutes later we were back in the city centre.

Incredible Free Stuff for Your Cell Phone
2008-06-07 23:13:00
There was an article in this past Thursday's New York Times about several free cell phone services that recently have been introduced. Dial 800-GOOG-411 and get free business listing information, instead of being charged $1.50 when just dialing 411 on your cell phone. Dial 800 FREE411 to get residential listings. More amazing is the service you access by dialing 800 2CHACHA, where you ask any question (from who was the 34th President of the United States to airport departure times out of Kennedy Airport), and you get the answer texted directly to your cell phone by a real live person who has done the research, for free. No ads at this time, but I'm sure that at some point they will figure out a way to make money on this service. Dial 866 JOTT123 and you can dictate a message that will be transcribed and sent to you via email...
