All these began on January 23 when the Flag Telecoms FALCON undersea fiber optic cable near the Egypt was damaged. On January 30 another cable called the SeaMeWe-4 cable was cut. Egyptian officials have reviewed the ship traffic in the area at the time of the damage and have ruled out that the damage was caused by a ships anchor.On February 1st second cut was found in the FALCON cable, which resulted in severe disruption of data service in the Gulf region and South East Asia.
