This is just one of the eye opening findings of Christopher Leinberger of the Brookings Institute who recently authored a survey of the nation's most walkable communities. Jonathan Meades had returned to the BBC with his brilliant visual essays on British architecture in Abroad In Britain.Meades doesn't have an immediate persona. He has a donnish air, if dons were down with Pink Floyd and wore sunglasses indoors. He performs his views with so much elan and bite that he makes Kenneth Tynan look like a toddler. If Tynan was always breaking new ground with saying fuck on BBC2 and creating musicals about the impossible loveliness of bottoms, Meades creeps up and spooks you with his ideas.For a start, you have to concentrate on what he is saying.
