Nossa: Next Summer Getaway
2008-12-31 16:21:00 Our holiday vacation here in Hawaii with my son is almost over. We have enjoyed so much our stay here that I have to drag my feet, literally, to start packing for our return trip home. I have so much to explore on the beautiful island-paradise of Oahu. Ahh! Anyways, the next vacation is just around the corner. This summer, Noosa, Queensland will be our next destination. This early, I am already considering advance booking in any of the finest hotels in Australia ?to save money on discounts due to reservations. I am considering Gold Coast Hotels and Cairns Hotels. However, since we will be staying more time to explore Noosa, Nossa Hotels will take priority. According to those who visited Queensland, you will best enjoy the most of your trip there if you go on an off-road trip. Definitely, all plans will be set to that end. I can?t wait. Kindly visit these cool BLOGS too: ^^, Yuppies caFe HRM Business Practices Briefs

Best 5 Video Games of Summer 2008
2008-09-16 18:37:00 Here is a well compiled list of best video games forthe summer of 2008. As summer is over now, so this is the best time to comile top video games list. Below is a list of best video games. Check the games added in the list below:Grand theft Auto 4: Sold more than 10 million copies since its relase, Grand Theft Auto 4is certainly at the top of the chart. Its crime scenes, shattered blood, filthy language and nudity to some extent made it popular among adults. Available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 only.Lost Odyssey: Another game I was excited about adding in the list. It is a worth playing video game because it has fascinating story to tell which had made it immensely popular game for Xbox 360.The World Ends With You: This action role playing game takes you as a Neku in the modern day Tokyo where Neku finds himself mysetriously in the middle of the streets. This is an amazing game made by Square Enix. It is available for Nintendo DS only.Metal Gear solid 4: Guns of the Patriots: MG...
How I spent my summer vacation (2008)
2008-09-16 05:17:00 I intend to blog about our time in Edmonton (nearly six weeks), our road trip to Vancouver and back, and most especially our cruise to Alaska. However, having been absent from Lethbridge so long, I have had to throw myself back into my work and household responsibilities and suspect it is unlikely I will be able to blog the trip(s) in a timely fashion. (I couldn't blog as we went because I was busy living it, but also because we don't have Internet access where we were staying in Edmonton because our usual on-the-road option of using Telus dial-up service did not seem to be working ? their Help Desk told us the recent switch to 10 digit local numbers had crashed the software, though that seems a bit hard to credit. Access during the Alaskan cruise was theoretically possible, but prohibitively expensive.)Consequently, rather than have the trip entries sprawl across the next few months, I thought it best to back date them to August where they would all be in correct chronological pl...
Exclusive Spoilers: TERMINATOR Stars Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau Talk Jud
2008-09-08 14:50:00 Thomas Dekker, The TV Addict and Summer Glau in Los Angeles, August 2008 First the Television Critics Association Press Tour, then Comic Con and now the FOX Fall Press Junket, do you ever tire of talking about the TERMINATOR? Thomas Dekker: It’s very lucky we’re in love with the show because if we weren’t… Summer Glau: Sometimes things get blurry. People do tend to ask the same questions and it gets to the point where I almost don’t recognize anything that’s coming out of my mouth. So you’re pretty much the TV equivalent of Presidential Candidates on the campaign trail. Is this a part of the business you enjoy? Doing the TERMINATOR ’stump speech’. Thomas: I’ve strangely managed to coast along acting for fifteen years without doing much of this. But if it will help the show be seen then we’re happy to do it. Well at the very least I’m sure you’ve gotten to visit some cool places promoting the show? Thomas:...

Some End-Of-Summer Labor Pains
2008-08-27 19:49:00 The Murdoch Street Journal tells us here (a few days before the holiday) that??rewriting federal law to promote union organizing is now near the top of the Democratic agenda. The main vehicle is "card check" legislation, which would eliminate the requirement for secret ballots in union elections. Unable to organize workers when employees can vote in privacy, unions want to expose those votes to peer pressure, and inevitably to public intimidation. This would arguably be the biggest change to federal labor law since the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947. The Democratic House passed card check last year, and Mr. Obama has pledged his support. With a few more Senators, it might pass.Card check is merely the start. Next on the agenda is a campaign to repeal "right to work" laws in the 22 U.S. states that have them. Right to work laws allow employees to decide for themselves whether to join or financially support a union. Former Michigan Congressman David Bonior told a union event in Denver on Mo...

What I Did On My Summer Vacation Work Time
2008-08-26 08:58:00 Remember all those ?what I did this summer? things we had to write at the beginning of every school year. In ?A Christmas Story? they called them ?themes? but I don?t remember what we called them at my school, though ?pain in the arse? comes to mind. With that being said, I shall honor the traditional last week of summer by writing what I did this past summer just for you. For musical accompaniment, may I suggest a few songs? There is the Lettermen song that was also covered by the Beach Boys ? ?Things We Did Last Summer,? The Beach Boys? ?All Summer Long,? The Beach Boys? ?Keep An Eye On Summer? (there?s a pattern here, but I can?t put my finger on it) or Kid Rock?s ?All Summer Long,? for the hipper kids in the audience. You could also play it safe by using any Jimmy Buffett song (or for a melancholy end of summer accompaniment, may I suggest Jimmy?s ?When the Coast is Clear? or Billy Joel?s ?Famous Last Words?). That?ll really help you keep it real while you are reading thi...

My Take on TV: My 5 Favorite Summer Shows
2008-08-12 21:02:00 By: Amrie Cunninghame [My Take on TV] I don’t think I’m overstating anything when I say that this summer has given us some of the best TV I’ve seen in a long time. I’m still not caught up on the few weeks I missed due to our trip to San Diego, but I still feel like I’ve seen some quality TV that I’m glad we have in the summer so these shows don’t have to compete with my regular fall viewing. Here are my favorite shows from the summer (if not listed, it’s because I’m just not caught up and I can’t say it’s my favorite if I haven’t seen it…I’m talking to you, THE CLOSER). My five favorite summer shows this year: BURN NOTICE – Ever since my visit to the set, I feel connected to this show. I’ve had the chance to spend time with the people that make the show possible, so to me, that makes season 2 even more spectacular than season 1. Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) is a great character – he’s sarcastic, which is perfect for me – I sometimes fe...

Summer Flicks A Kingdom Of Perpetual ?Knight?
2008-08-12 00:26:00 (And I ask you, where else are you likely to find a bastardized Shakespeare quote in a blog title?)As noted here, ?The Dark Knight? was the No. 1 movie at the box office for the fourth week in a row. I?m not sure exactly what that says about the taste of the movie-going public (and I include myself), but there you are.And I had planned to add some thoughts on the movie on Friday before all of the mess over John Edwards hit the fan primarily because of what that numbskull Glenn Beck said about it here.(And I?m sorry ? accuse me all you want of trying to degrade the opinions of others, but Beck IS a numbskull at the very least; as long as I?ve been subjected to his blather, I can?t think of a single constructive thought or utterance from this person.)And the answer is yes, I did see ?The Dark Knight? about a week or so ago, partly out of parental duty, screening the movie for the young one (and despite the PG-13 rating, I wish to emphasize that this movie is NOT something that should ...
Thomas Dekker & Summer Glau Talk TERMINATOR Season 2
2008-08-11 15:22:00 Hoping to give fans a second chance to jump on the bandwagon, FOX has made the savvy decision to re-run the entire first season of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CHRONICLES this week. And to celebrate two words that rarely find their way into a sentence together. You know, ‘FOX’ and ‘Savvy’ [seriously, will the bitterness over FIREFLY’s cancellation ever end?], this TV Addict thought today would be the perfect opportunity to run our recent conversation with TERMINATOR stars Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau. Who took a few minutes following their panel at the recent San Diego Comic Con to talk to the media. Thomas Dekker: Hey, I love theTVAddict.com, how are you? The TV Addict: I’m great thanks. You know, it would really help me out if you repeated “I love theTVaddict.com” [as I record it for posterity!] Thomas Dekker: I love the TV addict. No really. You’ve given me some great coverage. Summer. Please report back to my office.
2008-08-06 08:27:00 Since droning on endlessly about being sick and, ZOMG the steroid crazies, isn't exactly curing me, I suppose I'll stop talking about it. Or, not. I really don't know because, see above: steroid. crazy. The voices are telling me to keep blogging about it, though. OK, OK, I'm better, but not all there, yet. Working on it, though. Likely a viral infection I just can't shake. My own doctor has yet to call me back in nearly 2 weeks. It's now turned into a bit of an experiment for me. You see, I'm only 43, left them more than one message (same day appointment requests go to the nurse's voice mail) explaining I've been in the ER twice, urgent care once and I need to be followed up because I might have a blood clot on my lung or I might have congestive heart failure (I don't) and they have YET to call back. I'm going to see how long it takes, if ever, to get a call. I did end up seeing a lovely new doctor and he's great and I'm gonna live eventually, so all is ...

Last Week of Summer Vacation
2008-07-31 15:16:00 I am not worried about how Lily will do at Kindergarten. She is very ready. The past six weeks of swim lessons has showed me that she is able to listen, follow directions, get along with others, speak up for herself, etc. I am also looking forward to having some time to myself. I have tons of plans. I think school is going to be a great thing for both of us. Except, I have been having nightmares. I dreamt that Lily got off the bus at school and no one was there. She began to cry. She was scared and alone. I wasn?t there for her and didn?t even know she needed me. Now I can?t seem to sleep anymore. I stay up too late. I don?t sleep when I go to bed. Being overly tired is also making me mean and short tempered. I am having a hard time dealing with everything, even though in my head I am certain there is nothing to worry about.I am supposed to be getting Lily up at 6 A.M. because she gets on the bus at 6:50 A.M. and I want to get her used to getting up at 6 now rather than la...
