2010-12-26 17:54:00 Man United have stayed top of the Premier League table, two points clear of Man City, after a 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford. Manchester United got off to a brilliant start after Dimitar Berbatov put the home side 1-0 with only five minutes on the clock. After some great play between Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney, Berbatov finished off the move with a header past Craig Gordon. Man United could have had three or four goals within 15 minutes. Not long after the goal Rooney tried to chip Gordon but the ball fell just wide, Berbatov smashed a shot against the the post and Anderson hit the bar. Sunderland settled down the longer the first half went on but still didn't really threaten the Man United goal. Somehow United went into half time only 1-0 up. That is now four away matches in the league, four draws and eight points dropped, for a side looking to win the Premier League, that isn?t good enough. Saying that, Sunderland had the better opportunities, and they looked like the team more likely to score, so overall a point was probably a point gained rather than two dropped..
