My friend Ann and I packed up the Moon Palace and set off to the Somerset hills for the rave of festivals - Sunrise Celebration. From the off it didn't feel right when we arrived at about 2pm to find a MEGA queue about two miles long - there was some cock up to do with licences and the local council - not boding well already. We waited and waited watching all sorts of hippy types and interesting people walking past on their way in. Eventually the queue started moving and I got the Moon Palace in and parked up in a muddy field overlooking the main arena. It had rained quite a lot for the two days prior to the festival so it was already pretty muddy when we arrived. 2008-05-21 18:04:00 Its official... Sunrise has pulled the plug on lift assisted mountain biking in Arizona. Literally 4 days before the scheduled opening of Sunrise Ski Park in Show Low Arizona, the local Tribe who controls the land has decided to not open for the summer. This decision is a huge blow to the gravity scene here in AZ and the parks re-opening to bikes in the future is in doubt. The White Mountain Cup Race which is scheduled for June 13-15 is tenatively still on for now, but with this decision, I don't really see how the trails will be in race ready condition, or who will actually support the race or the resort. By January 2010, all POS systems will require retail checkouts to be GS1 Databar compliant. This is the only symbology that will be approved for use by GS1.org to encode GTIN-14 numbers that do not start with the number zero (0). Sunrise Park - NOT OPEN MEMORIAL DAY
2008-05-19 16:57:00 A good year for snow up at Sunrise Ski Park is a bad year for bikes and unfortuneately this is one of those years. Sunrise will NOT BE OPENING to riders on Memorial Day weekend. On the top of the mountain there is still anywhere between 1-3 feet of snow and all of this will require additional time to melt off before trail work can be done to get the mountain ready to ride. There is however a need for volunteers to do trail work in the next week or so, which we will have more details shortly. We will keep you posted as we get more info. 2008-04-20 17:02:00 Hah.. finally I am blogging something more interesting.. other than my job in Kuantan... This weekend was considered hectic as compared to last week. Since all my house mates went back to KL.. Being left alone at home, I went out with my colleagues instead.. Had almost every meals with my colleagues and had a basketball game with colleagues (Erik, William Thong and Ah Fatt) and 2 IMU grand seniors pharmacist who are staying two blocks behind me.. (couldn't recall their name anyway.. anyway that's not important :P) Never thought i would play basketball in Kuantan, some more with friends that i knew for less than a month.. It was a fun game, although i still played like an idiot.. nvm who cares..The next day morning 4.50am we (Erik, William and myself) started to depart to our destination - Sungai Lembing, which is 50km+ from Kuantan..
