2007-10-22 19:58:00 Variety reports that Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the screenwriters behind last year?s Superman revival movie, have opted not to come back to write the sequel. A second new Superman movie is already in the works with Bryan Singer attached to direct his second installment. Brandon Routh is rumored to be returning for the new Superman movie, though his name is also in the mix to play Supes in the upcoming Justice League film. Currently, Warner Bros. is taking Superman pitches from other writers. I?m happy about this. Not only were Dougherty and Harris responsible for giving Superman a crappy son then putting him through a whole movie where he didn?t punch through a wall, but it took both of them to turn that crappy plot out. Have Woody Allen write the new Superman film for all I care. As long as Supes punches through a wall, I?ll go see it.

Though the part for Lois Lane could have been picked for a hotter, much more filled out actress, Kate Bosworth played it pretty well.There were a lot of scenes in this film that were very familiar to the old Superman movies from the Christopher Reeves days. I liked the fact that the movie graphics were kept modern, yet still had the roots from the oldies.There were a ton of unexpected twists and turns, but the end will leave you begging for more.
