I had to knit the hat twice (the first time it came out so big it would have been loose on a basketball) but it's finally done.Occasionally I will get hit with the urge to knit and a month ago I jumped into a reversible parka designed by Jill Eaton in her book Minnowknits Too and have been busily knitting and purling ever since.Because the jacket is reversible it was like making the same sweater twice, then there was the border, then there were the ties (an especially cute design) and the appliquéd design and then the HAT! Save me from the Christmas sweaters!

Check out the next one.Exhibit BOh yes I did! What was I thinking? I'm not pregnant in this photo but I certainly look it. I was the heaviest after my second baby and got into a bad habit of wearing big, baggy clothes. I thought it hid the extra weight. Why didn't someone clue me in? Sis? I can usually count on you to set me straight when my style needs help.The good thing is that I did not stay in Christmas Sweater Hell for long. I lost the weight and with the help of a surgical intervention I got my style back.Exhibit CI'm the bleach blonde in the back. I can even accessorize now! See the cheetah print flower pin?
