Sylvia Telles - Amor em Hi-Fi (1960)
2008-01-31 06:29:00 Let's close tonight with the update of an album released in the very first beginning of Loronix. I think the update of old and essential posts are very useful to friends who are new to Loronix. There is much to explore in the archives and the updates give better exposition to the best we have available, such like this one, featuring one of the most popular artists in our community. Let's see. This is Sylvia Telles - Amor em HI-FI (1960), for Philips, the first album released by Sylvia Telles at Philips, just before the acclaimed Amor de Gente Moca, with Antonio Carlos Jobim repertoire. I like this album, but I think I would like much better if Philips credited more info about. Personnel is totally unknown, including arrangers and musicians in this session with Sylvia Telles performing a repertoire of Bossa Nova standards, a medley with international songs and a Frech version of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Dolores Duran Por Causa de Voce, here as Gardez Moi Pour Toujours. I'm making a...

Joao Gilberto, Sylvia Telles & Dick Farney - Joao Gilberto, Silvia Tell
2007-12-08 04:31:00 This is a very interesting compilation sent by Dona Iara that it is not listed on any discography, at least the ones that I could check. By the way, several compilations were released in the late 80's and most of them are pretty unknown. I don't know if it is a matter of limited editions, but they are really worth checking. This LPs were recorded in the turn of the shift between vinyl to CD and they have a pretty good sound. This one is really obscure featuring remastered tunes of three great artists. Let's see. This is Joao Gilberto, Sylvia Telles & Dick Farney - Joao Gilberto, Silvia Telles & Dick Farney (1988), for EMI-Odeon, perfect for those who are giving the first steps towards Brazilian music and want to have in a glance Bossa Nova cuts from three legends. These recordings range from 1957 to 1961, as detailed on track list. Tracks include:01 - Desafinado - JOAO GILBERTO (1958)02 - Dindi - SYLVIA TELLES (1959)03 - Este Seu Olhar - DICK FARNEY (1959)04 - O Barquinho ...

Sylvia Telles - Amor de Gente Moca | Musicas de Antonio Carlos Jobim (1959)
2007-07-26 04:38:00 I felt the same pleasure when reposting the last Elizeth Cardoso - Noturno (1957), as I had when it was made available for the first time a year ago. I'm also feeling very good on making this one. Amor de Gente Moca is another fantastic record released more than a year ago that was sleeping on a given day of June 2006. It is time to bring this amazingly out of print album to the spotlight, calling attention to Loronix new and old friends. Cover artworks are improved and the music was ripped with zecalouro supervision. FLAC files are also available. Loronixers acclaimed Sylvia Telles in the past and now it is time to celebrate her music again. This is Sylvia Telles - Amor de Gente Moca | Musicas de Antonio Carlos Jobim (1959), for Odeon. I'm proud to own the Odeon original issue in a very good condition, the reason for this reposting. Sylvia Telles performs with orchestra the Antonio Carlos Jobim repertoire. I do not have knowledge to describe Sylvia Telles singing from a technical ...

Luiz Bonfa e Sylvia Telles - Luiz Bonfa e Sylvia Telles (1958) | EP
2007-05-04 05:20:00 You don't need to scratch your eyes or check your glasses; it is true, Luiz Bonfa and Sylvia Telles together on recording. Mr. E. made history at Loronix with his last contribution, Copacabana Palace OST with Bonus Tracks, additions and videos. Copacabana Palace alone was enough to instantly admit Mr. E. to Loronix Honor Pantheon. However, the tireless Mr. E strikes again with this unique EP and does not save another jewel for a later time, making together a video with Sylvia Telles that I never saw before. Thanks once again Mr. E., your music is really exciting and you also know the stuff you have. This is Luiz Bonfa e Sylvia Telles - Luiz Bonfa e Sylvia Telles (1958), for Odeon (EP, BWB 1040). As I said, Mr. E. knows the business, he said this is the outcome of a supposed LP with Sylvia Telles singing Luiz Bonfa repertoire, however, Odeon seems to have aborted the project, making only this EP commercially available. Luiz Bonfa guitar can be heard in all tunes and share vocals with...

Sylvia Telles - Sylvia Telles Sings the Wonderful Songs of Antonio Carlos J
2007-01-26 05:13:01 An exceptional date needs and exceptional album. This singer is perhaps the most celebrated at Loronix and for every Bossa Nova enthusiast. Wise of Caetano for taking this tremendous album to our tribute. Big coincidence also, since I could have made this post earlier and the chance of making it on such special date would be lost. I'm happy about this. This is Sylvia Telles - Sylvia Telles Sings the Wonderful Songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim (1965), for Kapp Records (USA), also released in Brazil by Elenco, MEV-65 as The Music of Mr. Jobim by Sylvia Telles. Sylvia sings in Portuguese and English a repertoire of Antonio Carlos Jobim compositions, produced by Aloysio de Oliveira with Arrangements of Maestro Lindolfo Gaya. I'm just a little bit disappointed of not have a movie of Sylvia Telles available, so I'm posting a nice picture of her that you will find with the music. The cover artwork is one of those things that only Caetano Rodrigues can show us. I want to say thanks to Caetano...

Dorival Caymmi - Caymmi e o Mar (1957) with Sylvia Telles
2006-12-04 21:44:01 I have a strong respect and admiration for Dorival Caymmi. Brazilian artists such as Joao Gilberto and Caetano Veloso also consider Caymmi the "root" of the great music we know here at Loronix. I cannot understand why Dorival Caymmi is not celebrated in Brazil and also worldwide as his peers, his sophisticated harmonies, and the way he fit lyrics with melodies with his guitar playing is unique.Loronix has just a few Dorival Caymmi releases and I think it is time to fill this gap. This is Dorival Caymmi - Caymmi e o Mar (1957), for Odeon, with a different track 01, Historia de Pescadores with Dorival Caymmi, Silvinha Telles, Lenita Bruno, Odaléa Sodré Fernandes and Consuelo Sierra singing together several songs like a story. Caymmi e o Mar has orchestra arrangements by the Maestro Leo Peracchi e Sua Orquestra. Tracks include:01 - "História de Pescadores" with Canção da Partida (Dorival Caymmi) -- Adeus da Esposa (Dorival Caymmi) -- Temporal (Dorival Caymmi) -- Cantiga de Noiva (Doriv...
