I’m a big geography geek and I’ve been one for as long as I can remember (try age seven). That’s why when I found about Travelpod’s nifty Traveler IQ application on Facebook, I was very excited to pit my cartographic memory against the best that the world could offer.  The game basically challenges you to pin point particular locales on the nearly featureless world map. Of course, it can be prone to cheating so it’s a good thing that there’s a 10-second time limit. The closer you are to the actual location, the higher the score. I hate being treated like I am just a girl and that I can’t do something or that I do not know what I am talking about. The last time we bought a vehicle, I knew something was wrong with it. It was less than three weeks old, so I took it back to the dealership and they test drove it and said everything was fine. I was furious because they would not listen to me. About a week later, I had my father take it to them and they found several things wrong and went to work on fixing it. I hate places that treat me like that, so now I use AAMCO. 2007-11-21 06:00:00 It was a great evening for my family and I to be able to have the opportunity to set down with Karl Bastian (the kidologist) and his family and just chill together. I had such a great time getting to know Karl, Sarah and Luke and I realized these guy’s are just like us they love to minister to kids and their families and they love to equip and encourage those who minister to children. As I walked away from Giuseppe’s Italian Cafe, I thought that was encouraging and equipping for me. I also realized that through Karl’s basic positive interactions (magic tricks etc…) with my kids, I really needed to pick back up some of those basic skills that I love and kids love to. So thank you Karl, Sarah and Luke for taking your time as a family to meet and encourage my family. It Was Awesome, and I look forward to a great ongoing relationship.

This article was not meant as a bragging tool, but I hope it has encouraged you, honored God and has shown that we can make a difference in the lives of the families in our communities that we serve. So until I can, I won't answer those much-loved questions 'is it a boy? is it a girl?' So no asking as it will be futile. Both grandparents know, and so does my brother. N's sister is still in hospital with no change. But best of all, Elliot knows what the sex of the new baby is, and when asked 'are you going to be a great big brother?' he replied with a very firm 'NO!' I guess only time will tell. Tomorrow, my lovely new bookcases arrive. Tomorrow means 3 days until my dad arrives. Tomorrow means 7 days until Elliot's second birthday party. 2007-11-12 19:28:00 Well, my grandmother's surprise 85th birthday party went off without a hitch on Saturday. She was truly surprised and everyone had a great time. Wondering why there's no pictures? Well......Darrin left from Oceana last night to start his Dick's Sporting Goods training class in Richmond, VA. The kicker is...he took my keys with him! So, the boys and I are stranded in Oceana with my car locked and no keys. Luckily he figured out he had them before he got out of WV. He left the keys in Beckley (an hours drive from Oceana) for me. My mom is on her way there now to pick them up. Then, we'll be on our way back to SC. I will post a more detailed post about the party with pictures tomorrow.
