Pho Boi, A Taste of Vietnam on No.5 Road in Richmond
2011-11-11 16:00:00 I decided to visit the newest Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond for lunch on a Saturday. Most importantly, the boys agreed to the idea. I am still in the search of dry mix Vietnamese noodle with lots of fried shallot and brown sauce. The latest addition to the many Vietnamese restaurants in Richmond is Pho Bou, A Taste of Vietname on No. 5 Road which took over the location of Red Mirchi recently. As you can see this restaurant is big.

Atlanta, Taste Of Atlanta, Woodfire Grill, and Social Media
2011-10-24 07:14:00 Atlanta, Georgia – As regular readers of my blog know, I travel back and forth between Atlanta and Oakland. Mom is here, and much of my occupational and personal life is in Oakland. At first, I really didn’t know anyone, and being 40 miles outside the city makes it harder still to meet folks. When will India taste true secularism?
2011-10-18 18:13:00 Recent Delhi University Controversy over the inclusion of AK Ramanujan's Ramayana is a proof that we, the Indian people are pseudo-secularists. Though we pride ourself that we are a secular nation, we allow Indians to be banned and driven out of nation because of their expressed opinions in a book in a supposedly free country. Artists/Painters to be driven out because of their work that supposedly offended a particular religion Schools to use the stories from their religious holy book as a part of their "x minute moral hour" We never raise an issue when religions & religious rituals are a part of "secular" governments, "secular" firms, "secular" colleges and "secular" schools Makes me to doubt that I will ever see a truly secular India in my lifetime. Indian Flag P.S: Secularism in my mind means absence of religions or religious rituals rather than presence of all possible religions and religious rituals.

Blend up a Pina Colada for the Taste of Vacation
2011-07-11 01:00:00 When someone says Piña Colada, you immediately picture a frosty drink with tropical fruit hanging off the edge of the glass. It is cool, delicious, and sweet. It is the "national" drink of Puerto Rico, and is available just about everywhere here — beaches, roadside stands, restaurants, and bars. Here's our recipe for this favorite, vacation-time drink.Continue reading this article → Blend up a Pina Colada for the Taste of Vacation Are you on Facebook? 2011-07-02 22:34:00 Ok…I know I haven’t blogged in forever. I’m hella busy. 5 Healthier Food Choices at Taste of Chicago
2011-06-25 00:49:00 There is really no reason to leave Chicago in the summer time. We have so many fantastic events, concerts, street fairs and festivals. I look forward to it each year. Lately I have heard from friends that they are avoiding the Taste because they just eat too poorly and the food isn't worth the calories. Between these comments and concerns about flash mob attacks, I feel bummed that some of my favorite things to do in Chicago are being avoided by acquaintances friends and family. So I have complied a list of the healthier dishes being offered at the Taste of Chicago this year to provide a solution for one of their conerns- getting fat! These are going to be my...
Gluten Free Pizza offered at the Taste of Chicago
2011-06-24 19:51:00 It's here. Starting today through July 3rd, you can experience the tastes, smells, and interesting sights that are The Taste of Chicago in Grant Park. With 59 restaurants offering items from their menus, it can be a diner's paradise. For those with celiac disease or a food intolerance, it can be quite a different story. Most fried items are coated in wheat flour, sauces can have hidden gluten, and how fun is a Chicago style hot dog without a bun? Restaurants are becoming more allergen aware, but gluten free choices have traditionally been extremely limited at The Taste. This year however, Connie's Pizza is offering a 10-inch gluten free pizza as well as a gluten free pizza slice from their "Taste...

So Close I Can Taste It
2011-06-04 03:16:00 We are now just a little over 3 months until the big day. This past week my fiancee and I met my future in-laws at Country Squire in Grayslake Illinois to taste the food for our reception.Of course I was not happy to see that the words fried chicken, pizza, or buffet were nowhere on the menu. I was quickly reminded by my fiancee that as much as I love Golden Corral our guests might expect something a little more classy for our wedding. So I decided to trust her and George, who is in charge of planning the weddings at the banquet hall we chose for our ceremony and reception. George proceeded to bring out fancy beef, chicken, and...
IMPROV CLASS FOR THE SOUL: TASTE TEST by Rachel Hamill
2011-04-22 05:05:00 We conducted a taste test to find out what the difference between milk produced by God and the devil would be. We found that those who got the devil's milk and God's milk both substituted milk from an everyday mom and said it was just right. The mom smiled and said when will you both leave home so that I can have a life? Did you ever just want to walk up to someone and say would you be my mom? Pull up a breast and she would carry you off into the sunset. Every child's dream - I will be held and carried forever. And every mom just imagines...

Another Taste of Rum
2011-03-04 16:30:00 I admit that one of the fun things I love about living on an island is the rum. And Puerto Rico is quite the island for rum — called the Rum Capital of the World. So, for me, one of the most wonderful times of the year is the annual Taste of Rum Festival. The 2011 Taste of Rum Festival will be held March 19 and 20th. As in years past, there will be rum to sample, food prepared with rum to taste, rum-related seminars and competitions, as well as live music to get your rum-infused body moving.Continue reading this article → Another Taste of Rum Are you on Facebook? A taste of Lebanese for our third!
2010-09-06 07:31:00 Last Tuesday (August 31), Rob and I celebrated our third year of marriage! Unlike in the past anniversaries where we went out of town for some whiff of sea breeze and seafood fiesta, we stayed in the Penh and went to our favourite Lebanese restaurant. It's been more than a year since we last visited Le Cedre, so it was a great choice for the night. We were hoping for a quiet dinner celebration and we got it alright. One thing I like about dining out in Phnom Penh is that there are lots of restaurants offering authentic international cuisines - French, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Russian, Malaysian, Filipino, etc... - and almost all of these restos do not require reservations. When we arrived at Le Cedre, only three tables were occupied and were already done with their meals. By 9pm, we already had the whole place to ourselves. Nice, wasn't it? The lights were soft and there was a faint Lebanese music playing on the background and the hookah looked inviting....
Taste of Melrose Park: Calling All Foodies
2010-09-01 20:15:00 It's no secret that I love to eat. Sometimes when I'm eating one meal, I'm thinking about my next. But hey, I'm Italian--we're notorious for overeating! Well that's why the Taste of Melrose Park has always been one of my favorite hometown events. From Italian Meatballs to Italian Lemonade to Pasta Faglioli ... the Taste caters to my inner Foodie and to my Attention Deficit Disorder. The Taste offers a menu equipped for the most picky palates--chock full of authentic Italian & Mexican cuisines and the traditional American pastimes. The best part about these vendors (besides the fact that I've grown up knowing most of them) is that the food comes from family recipes passed down from generation to...

Yesterday (Thursday, July 1), Alexis went to Taste of Chicago to the Trey Songz Concert. She had been given a ticket by her friend (my granddaughter) who was unable to go herself because she was working at the Reggio's tent. Alexis was by herself. She was not with a group, in fact, she was not with anybody. The line was very long, and at about 5:30 pm they began turning people away. One of the security people pointed Alexis toward an entrance she could go in since she had a ticket. As she began going that way a...

Best movie of the week: 'Restrepo' gives you a powerful taste of
2010-07-01 22:15:00 This week at the movies isn't just the surprisingly good "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and the incredibly bad "The Last Airbender." There's also a tough-to-forget documentary about American soldiers in Afghanistan called "Restrepo" opening in limited release, and it's certainly the most essential viewing of the three. Not that that's saying much, compared to an incomprehensible M. Night Shyamalan disaster and a solid but nonessential entry into the teen vampire movie genre. "Restrepo," on the other hand, matters. No movie, of course, could actually come close to the experience of military service. Yet this doc is a great example of how compelling and urgent and horrifying a movie about war can be if the filmmakers just stay out of the way...
