The Geography and Taxonomy of Political Manipulation
2008-01-06 09:06:00
More great stuff from Joachim Martillo - this is actually Martillo at his finest. When he's good, he's great, but I find him somewhat erratic for my Leftist tastes. This time he riffs on a variety of subjects.Starting off, he quotes critical Jew Phillip Weiss. Weiss is great! He's one of the best Jews today writing on the Jewish Question. Critical without being anti-Semitic, he hits the nail on the head.Personally, I despise Chris Matthews, a fake self-proclaimed liberal with his finger to the wind. He blew it for me when he got on the anti-Bill Clinton bandwagon in the 1990's. Not that I had much love for Bill, but it was shameful of Matthews to support the hyper-corrupt reactionary Republican anti-Clinton project. What Weiss is talking about below is Jewish money in US politics - specifically big Jewish money in Democratic Party politics. Black votes plus Jewish money = US Democratic Party winning team. This is the dirty little secret of the recent Democratic Party game plan th...

Taxonomy: What?s in a Name
2007-05-08 17:02:00
From Birdscope’s Elizabeth Quill and Miyoko Chu: What’s in a Name?, or, Science drives the often-bewildering changes to species check-lists. The check-list’s scientific frontier is not in the actual discovery of new species (the last such addition was Gunnison Sage-Grouse in 2000) but in new evidence about already known birds. For example, the Black-bellied ...
