2007-02-23 15:26:02 Taye Diggs will star opposite Kate Walsh in ABC's potential spinoff from hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy." The show will test the waters as a back-door pilot, an expanded two-hour episode of "Grey's" slated to air in May. It will center on neonatal surgeon Addison Shepherd (Walsh), a character who has enjoyed a strong following from fans since she was introduced at the end of the hot surgical drama's first season. It is understood that the back-door pilot episode will feature Shepherd on the verge of leaving Seattle Grace, a scenario that will be triggered if ABC goes with the spinoff for next season. There were no details on the character Diggs will play. "Grey's" creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes is writing the episode and is expected to shepherd the potential series. 2007-02-22 23:04:01 It has been reported that actor Taye Diggs will star opposite “Grey’s Anatomy” surgeon Kate Walsh (who plays Addison Shepherd) in a spinoff of the hit medical drama. The show will likely debut in May during sweeps month as a “back door” pilot episode tacked on to the regular Grey’s timeslot. In the pilot, Addison will be deciding whether or not to leave Seattle Grace Hospital. If she leaves, then her new hospital will be the setting for the spinoff with Diggs. ABC has not decided yet whether or not run with the new series. Also, it’s unclear about Taye’s exact role in the show. This will probably be a major win for Diggs and a treat for all the Grey’s-a-holics out there in TV land. Now you know we keeps our eyes glued to that TV on Thursday nights (TONIGHT!!). Gotta find out if Grey is really dead out here in these streets! LOL! Now with the spinoff, that’s another reason to make more popcorn on Thursday nights.

The low-rated series airing back-to-back on Wednesday have been pulled by the network.The failure of "Day Break," a crime thriller starring Taye Diggs, foiled ABC's plan to effectively fill the slot vacated by "Lost" when it went on hiatus after six episodes.ABC said Friday that repeats of the comedies "George Lopez" and "According to Jim" will air in the 9 p.m. EST time slot that "Day Break" held only briefly. The show, which debuted Nov. 15, attracted fewer than 4.5 million viewers last week and ranked 99th. (Source)
