New Team Fortress 2 Spy Skin by Pxl_Buzzard
2008-05-13 03:17:00
Hello again everyone. I write with the news that I recently did a small touch-up on the spy skin in Team Fortress 2 (an excellent online cartoon FPS made by Valve). The skin isn’t anything much, just a new camo tie that I thought was desperately needed (I mean, who wants a plain old striped ...

Team Fortress 2 Papercraft - Sentry
2008-03-12 17:43:00

The designer runs a site called...
Team Fortress 2 Papercraft - Engineer's Dispenser
2008-03-11 14:48:00
When you need provisions, the Engineer's Dispenser is key. On the game, the dispenser slowly generates ammo and metal for your teammates and can also heal them, albeit much slower than a Medic. Put a couple of well-placed sentries around it and this could turn into an impenetrable wall. The Dispenser is a part of the...

Valve gives us Team Fortress 2 update specifics - SendMeRSS
2008-03-04 00:15:00
Valve gives us Team Fortress 2 update specificsFiled under: NewsYesterday, we mentioned that a new Team Fortress 2 title update was released via Xbox Live but that we were in the dark pertaining to any of the specifics. We went as far as to call out Valve on their lack of information support surrounding the Orange Box for consoles. But today, we eat our words. Valve developer Kerry hopped onto the Xbox.com forums to inform the masses about the TF2 update and tell us exactly what it fixes. We've posted Kerry's complete list of changes after the break as we're sure our fellow TF2 exploiters are ever so curious to know which exploits in their vast exploit arsenal are no longer effective. Anyway, check out the update list as we go on to officially retract out "evil Valve" comment that we made yesterday. We acknowledge that our name calling was a bit much, but we still stand behind our request at having some sort of Valve supported news hub for getting Orange Box updates. We still coo...

Team Fortress 2 on PC receiving new maps, weapons and modes in February 200

Valve will release a “large-scale modification” for the PC version of Team Fortress 2 in February 2008. Team Fortress 2 Review: Online Madness
2007-12-17 23:33:00
Team Fortress 2 is the best online game I've played in 2007. This is not an overstatement. It takes everything good about Counter-Strike: Source and makes it better. In fact, rather than viewing TF2 as a sequel to the original Team Fortress, I like to think of it as a natural follow-up to CS: Source. All the great graphics and game mechanics of Valve's earlier online shooter return, but this time you also get classes. Rather than a plethora of weapons to choose from, this time you choose from nine player classes. Each class has strengths and weaknesses. Some classes work well together, while others are better at solo play. The "Heavy" plays quite well with the "Medic." The Engineer provides excellent defensive support. The Spy flies solo, and is superb at undermining enemy defenses. The scout is fast and adept at capturing control points. With nine classes to choose from, it's hard to get tired of the game. The graphics are fantastically comical. Each class is modeled in a very c...

New maps, fixes coming for Team Fortress 2 - SendMeRSS
2007-12-13 18:26:00
New maps, fixes coming for Team Fortress 2Filed under: PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, First Person ShootersA squeaky wheel over at NeoGAF got greased down by a Valve staffer recently with a boatload of info on Team Fortress 2's future, both on consoles and PC. After poster and 360 owner "Shamrock" complained about a lack of communication from the company, software engineer Kerry Davis replied (in an email Shamrock reposted), painting a bright picture of the game's future, with a new patch just sent to Microsoft for certification that "fixes several game-play exploits, improves bandwidth usage, improves stats reporting and fixes some menu bugs."There are also new maps in the pipeline. Davis said that PC players would probably get the new levels piecemeal as they're finished and 360 owners would likely be downloading a PC pack. There is no mention of similar treatment for PS3 players. We're going to hope that's just because Davis was talking to a 360 owner and not because of ... well, y...

Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 Impressions
2007-11-26 22:34:00
I've been playing Team Fortress 2 for a few weeks now and I'm loving it. It might be the most fun multiplayer game I'm playing right now. For those of you not familiar with Team Fortress 2 it is a multiplayer only first person shooter. You can play as any of the 9 classes. Each class has its own weapons and abilities, but they all are really well balanced. For example, the big guy with the chain gun moves really slowly, but the little guy with the shotgun runs really fast. The best part of Team Fortress 2 is that the maps are designed specifically for certain game types. It makes them a lot more fun. You're not going to run into lame game types like you can have in Halo 3 (4 person slayer on Sandtrap I'm looking at you). The game gives you a good amount of stats at the end of each match including how many kills, how much healing, etc. The other great thing Team Fortress 2 does is that it alerts you in game when you've been killed by a person 4 times in a row, or if ...
Tips-Team Fortress 2 Class Breakdown
2007-11-04 23:53:00
There are a total of nine classes in Team Fortress 2, each who has their own strength and weaknesses. Today, I’m going to evaluate each class in the game. Scout; The scouts are the fastest and most nimble class in the game. The last Team Fortress game made the scout extremely vulnerable at close range combat. Team Fortress 2 however made the Scout dangerous at close range with the addition of the scattergun. Also, the Scout class is the only class in the game that can retrieve control points on the map at an extremely fast pace. The Scout’s main weakness is their light armor, making the class not so ideal for storming a base with sentries, or explosive classes. Solider- The solider has a high health and has the ability to use his rockets to propel himself to high places. The solider is the perfect class for taking out a Sentry guns when your team is trying to retrieve a control point. The only weakness I know about the Solider is that their primary weapon, the Rocket Launche...

Team Fortress 2 - Lag Alert
2007-10-18 12:11:00
There has been some talk of TF2 lagging like a bitch on XBOX Live lately, making the game unplayable and spoiling all the fun. I had a quick look last night to see what it was like. Based on the one game that I played (an 11 player Team game) it seemed fine. I have to say though that visually, the game looked absolutely amazing!!!! It really does look like all the preview videos you’ve seen. The framerate was fantastically smooth (it may even by 60fps) and the map design looked great. However, with regard to the lag issues, 1UP are reporting : Team Fortress 2, part of Valve’s epic The Orange Box compilation that was released last week, is experiencing some serious lag issues on Xbox Live. The vast majority of complaints stem from gamers attempting to participate in more competitive 6v6 or 8v8 matches, where “connection to host lost” messages became common place or gameplay rendered completely unplayable by never ending lag Valve realizes things are amiss, ...
Orange Box Reviews: Team Fortress 2
2007-10-15 02:34:00
Seeing as I've have played this game the most so far, I will go ahead and review it. I think Team Fortress 2 is a pretty AWESOME game. The gameplay is gold, the graphics are great and unique, and the diversity in gameplay is great too. Also there is a great stats system, and little achievments you get when you, well, achieve stuff. I'll start with the gameplay. You get to choose from 9 different classes: Scout (run fast, double jump), Soldier (rocket launcher), Pyro (flame thrower), Heavy (+ health, mini-gun), Demoman (explosives, sticky bombs), Engineer (turrets, teleports), Sniper (sniper rifle), Medic (healing gun, needle rifle), and the Spy (disguse as enemy, invisible). All that, plus you can switch them out as you please every time you die. Ok, now the graphics are very cool. They are pretty cartoonish, yet can deal out carnage like it were real life. There is a reason this game is rated M... Also there are only 6 levels, but there are many levels inside them. During parts of...
32 player Team Fortress 2
2007-10-12 11:29:00
I’ve been playing tf2 ever since the orange box came out and while I enjoy it I was puzzled why the maximum server size in the browser was 24 players when games like counter strike source can support 32. So I looked around and found out that team fortress 2 does support 32 players. Valve ...

Video: Team Fortress 2 Heavy Weapons Guy trailer
2007-05-16 09:25:00
If you’re a fan of Valve’s work, you’ll love this trailer. If you’re not, there’s a fat chance that you’ll still like it. The short video from Team Fortress 2 shows some Russian-sounding man-mountain aptly named “Heavy Weapons Guy” delivering an inspiring speech about his favorite weapon which he lovingly details. Check it out: Team Fortress has always been about strategy and skills. Where Half-life and Counter-Strike offered shooting fans intense action driven primarily by sharp reflexes and dexterity, Team Fortress introduced coordination, movement, and identity to the genre. With a major facelift, more personality and intensified combat, Team Fortress 2 brings back the core mechanics with new bells and whistles to master. Players will battle it out online as they choose from 12 roles which will comprise their team. Each unit type has a different set of abilities and play style. Marines are still excellent for close to mid-range ...
