Michael Arrington from TechCrunch quit the iPhone
2009-07-31 13:07:00
I think this is a big hit for Apple. Why Mike Arrington quits? Simply because Apple doesn't want Google Voice on the iPhone. I think it will make some noice soon enough, and I think Apple will have to find solutions to work with Google on that subject, my bet is the problem sits with AT&T contract...

Twitter Friday: TechCrunch Twitter Hacked Scandal ? SEO?
2009-07-17 21:17:00
“He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone.” I admit reading or rather scanning the “confidential” Twitter documents obtained by Techcrunch from a hacker and published in excerpts. Of course I was curious. On the other hand: Was this whole Techcrunch Twitter hacked scandal worth it? Are we wiser now? Has humanity ...a Twitter Friday: TechCrunch Twitter Hacked Scandal – SEO? Are Twitter & TechCrunch Members Of Fight Club?
2009-07-17 17:05:00
One of the rules of Fight Club is "If this is your first night at Fight Club, you HAVE to fight." Analogous to a schoolyard brawl, where stolen lunch money is cause for retaliation, these two industry chums have come to blows over hacked documents.
M.C Hammer and Speiser at TechCrunch Party
2008-07-29 11:20:00
Speiser and Hammer, originally uploaded by drs650.Ok. This is the first time I was in the same "house" as M.C. Hammer and missed seeing him. Yes, the TechCrunch party was that crowded. I also have not met this "Speiser" gentleman on the right. But the party was awesome and if you didn't see the video I created, you can do so with a click here.
Robert Scoble Talks About PodTech Demise At TechCrunch Party
2008-07-28 23:08:00
I present my long form video documentary of the TechCrunch | August Capital Party held Friday, July 25th 2008 atAugust Capital and hosed by TechCrunch Co-Founder / Editor Michael Arrington. First, let me thank Michael for the opportunity to do this at his event, as well as the time he gave me. Second, let me thank all of you who gave me your time at the party, which was the vast majority of you.I set out to form a pattern of opinions on what the Democratic Party and Senator Obama should address on the eve of the Democratic National Convention. I also tried to give a view of what people were working on in the tech / web community. There's a lot here. But I also tried to make something fun to watch, with a beginning, a middle, and an end.The video is 41 minutes long and some of the highlights: TechCrunch's Michael Arrington explaining that he hope Barack Obama sicks to his concern for "net neutrality" as well as his hope that issues regarding H1 Visas, the FCC, and the avoid...

techcrunch : Single User Interface For Twitter And FriendFeed
2008-05-07 12:49:00
Note: Unless you are a Twitter and/or FriendFeed addict, this post isn?t for you.Twitter / FriendFeed desktop client Alert Thingy just released version 1.3 of the software. It is now a fully functioning client for both services (reading and writing). They?ve also added an easy Flickr uploader - just drag a photo into the application and upload it to Flickr. The thing I like most about the new version of Alert Thingy though is that you access Twitter and FriendFeed in a single window and a single interface (Twhirl, a competitor, requires two windows). That means less desktop space is used. They are also de-duping Twitter messages (since they also appear in FriendFeed), a nice touch.Switching between Alert Thingy, Twhirl and even the newer browser sidebar with similar functionality is trivially easy - there are no real switching costs. That means all of these products will be in a constant battle over features. That?s great for us users. And since Alert Thingy and Twhirl are more side p...
techcrunch : How Much Is Twitter Worth?
2008-05-07 08:12:00
Yesterday CNET?s Charles Cooper reported that Twitter had signed a term sheet to raise $15 - $20 million in a new round of venture fundingIt?s fairly well known that they are out talking to VCs (it?s hard to keep that quiet), but our sources are saying no deal is imminent, and that Twitter is still meeting with potential suitors. The company has received a number of term sheets, according to one source. Valuations range from $60 million on the low end to more than $150 million on the high end. There is, clearly, a bit of salivating going on around Twitter. One reason for all the attention: growth rates suggest that it is now just a matter of when, not if, Twitter usage will go mainstream. Twitter usage has ?exploded? in the last couple of months, says our source (this is supported by Comscore, which shows total page view doubling from 10 to 20 million between February and March, although it is nearly impossible to guess at total Twitter usage since there are no many access points othe...

Michael Arrington of Techcrunch in TIME Magazine.
2008-05-05 08:38:00
Times Magazine has included Michael Arrington of Techcrunch in the list of world?s 100 most influential people. Congratulations Michael!! Michael is the only full time blogger who has been featured in Times Magazine so far. Time magazine describe his traits as intense, passionate, consumed with his subject, opinionated, sleep-deprived, forward-thinking, easy to irritate and apt to air his grudges in public. Indeed the online glory he achieved in short time was not easy. His peerless commitment and hard work has paid him off in well.Huffington , the editor in chief of the Huffington Post praises like this ?Dubbed the Walter Winchell of Silicon Valley and compared by Wired magazine to "a Hollywood agent at a cast party" and to "Tony Soprano?a large man always on the verge of losing his cool," Arrington is ready to add another rep: cybermogul.Millions of bloggers are inspired by him. He is indeed a Web 2.0 kingmaker and a cybermogul. Watch the complete list of Times 100 most influentia...

TechCrunch Scandal Exposed
2008-03-08 09:02:00
Early yesterday morning, TechCrunch Editor Michael Arrington posted a rumor that Google and Microsoft are in a bidding war for social news aggregator Digg. This afternoon, word out of Digg HQ is that the story is, "completely inaccurate". Digg CEO Jay Adelson goes on to say, "Sorry to burst any drama theories, but they aren’t true.We remain focused on improving Digg and rolling out great features." Arrington has updated his post with the following comment, "Lets see how this plays out." The story on TechCrunch has received over 5200+ diggs as of this post and will generate thousands of new inbound links. TC receives a lot of rumors and while many of them come to fruition, it appears lately the ratio has been slowly lowering - Kara Swisher has been going pretty hard at TC on their rumors as of late. As Arrington says, let's see how this one plays out. Is this a Game ?Yet THE END of another rumor from TechCrunch !I knew about this yesterday, today I can prove it.

Cafe.com featured on TechCrunch
2008-03-06 23:40:00
Cafe.com has been featured on Techcrunch today! Techcrunch is the bible for everything web 2.0 and online innovation. Thank you Techcrunch, we are proud you like our service. Extract of the Techcrunch article by Mark Hendrickson: I’ve recently had the chance to preview two new websites that promise to significantly advance the quality of social gaming as delivered through the browser. ... The second is a site called Cafe.com by an international company called Boonty. It is intended more for casual gamers who want to use gaming more as a way to meet people and socialize online rather than compete. ... Browser-based casual gaming is nothing new (see Kongregate, the gaming networks on Facebook, and the astronomical popularity of Scrabulous in particular). But Cafe.com is the most developed social networking-gaming hybrid that I’ve seen so far, both in terms of the integration of social features and the quality of gameplay. In contrast to InstantAction, Cafe.com will ...

Digg Autobury, Is TechCrunch on The List Now?

TechCrunch Debate: What's The Fuss About Israel?
2008-01-14 04:47:00
With the Israel Web Tour gearing up for a California visit, Michael Arrington of the mighty TechCrunch (regarded by many as the unofficial web 2.0/startup blog) highlighted 15 Israeli startups that will be visiting the sunshine state.Unfortunately while this has caused some political debate in the comment section, others are beginning to wonder how such a tiny country the size of New Jersey is producing so many startups for the 21st Century.Hopefully these Israeli startups will get some decent exposure in America, as they have a lot to offer to the US (at least in cyberspace).Content Copyright 2006-2007 of IsraGood. TechCrunch calls PayPerPost bloggers pathetic
2007-12-05 04:40:00
|WAIYOW| Michael Arrington has called PayPerPost bloggers, a large majority of whom are stay home moms and depend on the income from PPP, “pathetic”. Julia Allison and Meghan Asha Search For White Tech Guys at TechCrunch
2007-12-03 10:10:00
Ok. You're wondering what's up with the title's smarky angle "Julia Allison and Meghan Asha Search For White Tech Guys at TechCrunch"? Well, it's simple. It's true. If you've ever been to an SF Bay Area tech event as a Black male, you discover five things:1) The party's mostly white2) The men are cool to talk with3) The women there act like they're afraid to talk with you if you're Black. And establish these rules...1) You have a better time if you just hang with one group and don't mingle much. 2) You have a fantastic time if you don't wait for people to talk to you, and totally avoid anyone -- including some women -- who seem to have an issue with your presence. I'm serious about this. As the video reveals, of all of the people at these parties, it's generally non-tech White Women that generally act like they're looking only for White and at times Asian tech guys, as opposed to just plain networking. (And by "non-tech" I mean those who are not in tech positi...
Techcrunch Sandwich on Mixx
2007-11-25 13:31:00
The last 24 hrs have been wonderful for Techkeyla. Woohooo. Thanks Mixx and well, shall be back with my opinions and may be an updated review of Mixx, soon.

Microsoft Buys 1.6 Percent Stake In Facebook - TechCrunch
2007-10-25 02:22:00
Well, it a story of numbers and eyeballs equaling investment value. In this case, to the tune of a 1.6 percent stake that causes Facebook to be valued at $15 Billion. The buyer of that portion of the company is Microsoft -- not Google -- and for $240 million. What Microsoft will do with Facebook is another guess. But for the present, Michael Arrington at TechCrunch liveblogged the press conference today. Here's the result:Call NotesCall is beginning at 2:07 pmViveck Varma, MS, Owen Van Natta, Facebook, Kevin Johnson, Facebook, Brandee Barker, Facebook are on the call.Viveck is saying the press release below has minor errors and will be re-issued. TechCrunch Lands A Co-Editor
2007-09-21 04:01:00
Michael Arrington announced that Erick Schonfeld, formerly of Business 2.0, will be joining TechCrunch as co-editor. One might have suspected that there would be some kind of mingling of TechCrunch and Business 2.0 employees by reading Arrington's earlier post about Business 2.0's fallout. Especially note the last words from the earlier post, making Arrington appear to be some kind of miracle worker: "I hope to work with some of the best and brightest from that publication in the future."

TechCrunch e l'arte delle feste (in Europa)
2007-09-07 14:54:00
I need to remember for our next party - Londoners drink a lot more and stay out far later than their Silicon Valley geek counterparts. We actually ran out of alcohol completely at around 10:30 but Heather soon had another shipment brought in. I left at 1:30 am to get back to my day job. As far as I know the party is still going strong."(tratto da questo post su TechCrunch stesso)Max

TechCrunch surveys the VW landscape
2007-08-13 20:08:00
In a handy overview with chart, TechCrunch looks at Virtual World Hangouts: So Many To Choose From. This is indeed growing into a crowded space. I predicted at a conference a while back that every single major toy brand would have an MMO within two years. Well, we?re getting close, what with stuff like Mattel announcing U.B.Funkeys, for example. Edit: and the BBC jumping in as well. And BarbieGirls.com has hit 4m users, and the toys just now hit the streets. Meanwhile, we have EA?s ?chief visual officer? saying that chasing graphics is no longer the point because it?s becoming about user content ? something which even a year or two ago was heretical within the industry. I?m going to have to come up with some new stuff to predict soon, because predicting the present ain?t gonna cut it. Source: Raph´s Website Online Games Virtual Worlds
Will Yahoo! Buy Facebook? TechCrunch Report Points To This Possibility
2007-08-04 22:19:00
Michael Arrington over at TechCrunch has posted a great article on Bear Stearns "suggestion" (I take it as a demand) that Yahoo establish a social networking function. His article seems to point to aquistion of Facebook. It seems Yahoo!'s playing catch up in two major areas: social networking and videos. And given the emergence of "plug-in" applications like the one SBS uses for its social network, the hole Yahoo! has to dig itself out of is getting deeper still. I personally think Yahoo! needs to come up with the a next-generation web portal format. I know what they should do, but they'd have to pay me to tell them.
TechCrunch and PayScale
2007-08-03 18:03:00
PayScale is the company that we used for the salary calculator on this blog and on the resources page of myfirstpaycheck.com. TechCrunch just reported another PayScale feature that we're eager to play around with called the GigZig. From PayScale," Every day many thousands of people visit PayScale and take our compensation survey to compare their pay anonymously with their peers and improve their understanding of the job market. As part of this process, users are asked what was their job 5 years ago. GigZig provides an interesting and very useful view on this information. Knowing what everyone who had a job 5 years ago did, along with what they do now, gives unprecedented insight into what career choices people are making. Combine this with PayScale's world class compensation data, and you now know how much of a pay difference each of these career choices can make for you. GigZigâ„¢ your job title and find out where your current (or next) gig might take you." Seems pretty coo...

TechCrunch adquiere a InviteShare
2007-07-19 23:46:00
