Weekly Awards For The Comic Books From October 28, 2008
2008-11-04 22:30:00
All right, let?s go ahead and dish out The Revolution?s Weekly Awards. The nominees for the Che for the best read of the week: Captain America: Theater of War: Operation Zero Point #1 Incredible Hercules #122 Legion of Super Heroes #47 Nova #18 Superman #681 The Winner: Incredible Hercules #122 Legion of Super Heroes #47 Creative Team Writer: Jim Shooter Pencils: Rick Leonardi Inks: Dan Green Art Rating: 7 Night Girls out of 10 Story Rating: 8 Night Girls out of 10 Overall Rating: 7.5 Night Girls out of 10 I guess I am the only person who has absolutely loved Shooter?s run on this title. And I thought that Shooter did another fine job with Legion of Super Heroes #47. What I like so much about Shooter?s run is his incredible feel for the personalities of the various Legionnaires. This has been the first time since Levitz left the Legion that I felt that the writer actually knew and understood the characters in the Legion. Shooter simply gets it. Shooter understands the spirit o...

Music Review: Teen Titans: Trouble In Tokyo: Original Score From the Animat
2008-09-12 05:22:00
After scoring numerous episodes for the Teen Titans television series, composers Kristopher Carter, Michael McCuistion and Lolita Ritmanis have built up themes and attitudes they use for the show’s various characters. So when the producers came forward with the idea for a feature film, this trio of composers was more than ready. The result is ...

Due to it being Labor Day weekend and the fact that an unusually large shipment of comic books flooded the Bunker, I did not have time to post the reader polls for the weekly awards. They shall return this week. All right, let?s go ahead and dish out The Revolution?s weekly awards. Not only did we get a massive shipment of comic books last week, but we also got an incredibly strong selection of comic books as well. I was so impressed with last week?s mix of comic books. Awarding the Che is going to be difficult since all of the nominees this week were wonderful reads and each one was des...

Comic Book Review: Teen Titans #58
2008-05-05 23:05:00
Teen Titans continues to be an entertaining read. I concede that McKeever is treading very well worn ground with yet another evil version of the Teen Titans in the Terror Titans. However, the story has been fast paced with good action and solid character work. I fully expect Teen Titans #58 to be another quality read. Let?s go ahead and hit this review.Creative TeamWriters: Sean McKeeverPencils: Carlos RodriguezInks: Bit, Rebecca Buchman & Jimmy PalmiottiArt Rating: 7 Night Girls out of 10Story Rating: 6 Night Girls out of 10Overall Rating: 6.5 Night Girls out of 10Synopsis: We begin with a flashback scene to one week ago. We learn that this issue takes place during the events of Teen Titans #56 and #57. We see Megan in Sedona, Arizona because the desert reminds her of her home Mars. In her head Megan hears the voice of the evil future white Martian version of herself. The white Martian persona ridicules Megan for not embracing her heritage. Megan responds that just because the ...
Comic Book Review: Teen Titans #57
2008-03-29 03:24:00
The Revolution enjoyed the last issue of Teen Titans. I found the new Clock King and the Terror Titans to be pretty interesting antagonists for this story arc. I?m looking forward to learning more about these villainous teens. Let?s go ahead and do this review for Teen Titans #57.Creative TeamWriters: Sean McKeeverPencils: Eddy BarrowsInks: Jimmy Palmiotti & Julio FerreiraArt Rating: 9 Night Girls out of 10Story Rating: 8 Night Girls out of 10Overall Rating: 8.5 Night Girls out of 10Synopsis: We begin with Wendy and Marvin complaining about having to clean out a sandwich that was hidden in the main computer at the Titans Tower during the party that Kid Devil threw last issue. Suddenly, Wendy spies a nice looking pocket watch. We cut to Ravager meditating. Ravager loses her patience and comments that meditation is a load of crap. Copperhead attacks Ravager from behind and gets a swift kick to the head by our one-eyed silver haired chica. We shift to Robin visiting Wonder Girl at he...
Comic Book Review: Teen Titans #56
2008-03-04 15:42:00
The Revolution found the last issue of the Teen Titans to be rather pedestrian. However, for the most part, McKeever has done a solid job on this title. I expect McKeever to crank it back up with Teen Titans #56. Let?s go ahead and hit this review.Creative TeamWriters: Sean McKeeverPencils: Eddy BarrowsInks: Jimmy Palmiotti & Julio FerreiraArt Rating: 8 Night Girls out of 10Story Rating: 8 Night Girls out of 10Overall Rating: 8 Night Girls out of 10Synopsis: We begin with the Titans brawling against Shockwave. Kid Devil screws up and Shockwave is able to escape. On the ride back to the Titans Tower, Robin bitches out Kid Devil for not following their plan. The Titans arrive at the Tower. Wonder Girl and Robin head off for the week. Robin tells Kid Devil to not burn down the Tower until next weekend.Miss Martian also leaves since she has decided to only stay at the Tower during the weekends. Ravager decides to head out because the Tower is boring. Ravager wishes that the Blue Bee...

The Teen Titans under Geoff Johns underwent a renaissance, and McKeever has, to date continued the writing duties on the comic quite well and the Titans of Tomorrow Today is his chance to really show us his stuff.
