Will she stay?On Tuesday, the British Fashion Council will hold a meeting with the respective heads of fashion councils from New York, Milan and Paris to determine the future of London Fashion Week, which starts tomorrow. 2008-02-07 14:45:00 "I'm moving on from pretty and becoming stronger and sexier!" Alice Temperley announced mid-gush about the outrageous glamour of her new muse, the seductress-spy Mata Hari. It was quite a declaration from a designer who has built her house on a lace-and-bugle-bead foundation of flirty tea frocks and party confections. But she kept her word—mostly—on the runway. Here, for a change, was black leather, cut into a provocative pencil skirt and hot-to-trot thigh-high boots; here were sharp, smart soldier jackets. Even the evening gowns had taken on a decidedly harder edge (although, it must be said, a metallic green number was too tooth-grindingly aggressive). The designer did take care of her international coterie of Temperlettes, however, cleverly doling out, between the darker fare, the needed pretty fix: intarsia sweater dresses, sunbursts, and a breezy, ruffled cream dress that only required a change of shoes to be all sweetness and light.– Meenal Mistry

International series. I was able to see a couple of her pieces up close over the weekend when I was shopping for birthday gifts and she has some really cute pieces! She has wide-legged pants, cutesy little cropped coats, and the black, ruffled, cotton voile dress (available online, I didn't see that one in the store) is also a real nice look. Alice Temperley joins Patrick Robinson, Libertine, and fellow Brit, Luella Bartley in bringing an affordable line to the masses through Target. NYC Fashion Week Spring 2008 - Temperley and the after party
2007-09-20 16:37:00 The Temperley show brought me to Bryant Park. Finally I would get to experience the tents. It was madness. The tents are huge. I’m sitting in the forth row in this picture and there were a ton of people behind me. I was stuck at the beginning of the runway which was at a really odd angle. The lighting was poor for my camera and I didn’t get many good shots. See my Temperly photos. I have video after the jump though. I thought the collection was a little all over the place. I loved the black & white and prints. The more neutral stuff and the muted orange just didn’t do anything for me. I’m a big fan of these looks (pic 1, pic 2, pic 3, pic 4, pic 5). There were two dresses (pic 1, pic 2) that really threw me for a loop, they just didn’t fit in. Agyness was amazing. I had seen her on the street but this was the first time I saw her working.
