Tested the Palm Infrared Keyboard with the Centro
2008-06-07 15:43:00
If you read my other blog about the Treo 755p and infrared keyboards you will know I have challenged the manufactor of the expandable keyboard when they fail to list the Treo 755p and Centro. So I went into my lab, put on my white smock, gloves and safety glasses and beamed the keyboard into a Centro. To my delight and without the Centro blowing up the marriage of the keyboard and the Centro passed the test with flying colors. So if you have a Centro and want a Infrared Keyboard go buy the 3169ww at your local electronics retailer or online. Tested the Palm Infrared Keyboard with the Treo 755p
2008-06-06 18:38:00
I just got an email from an agent who was shopping for the Infrared Keyboard I use and cover in my classes. She went into a Best Buy to pick one up and was told they do not have a IR keyboard that works with her Treo 755p. It so happens I have Treo 755p here in my pile and the Palm model number 3196ww IR keyboard. After loading the software into the 755 all the functions work correctly. In my opinon, I think somebody is attempting to market their new $99 Bluetooth keyboard to make current owners of the 3196ww upgrade. Also new buyers spend $30 more to get the Bluetooth when the IR not only is cheaper but I need to check on one fact. The phone manufactors state the phone will only work with one Bluetooth device at a time. So if you are entering information with your keyboard and on the phone using Bluetooth one of them isn't going to work, (I think). I plan on testing the Centro soon, the one from my pile is missing as we loaned it to a fami...

I've been tested
2008-05-26 21:30:00
Freedom at last, I've spent 4 1/2 months playing 3 sets of quizzes a day plus a daily one, and it's now over. 8th in the world! I never expected that, and until it looked like I was doing well didn't plan to play them all but had to when it was clear my position was stable. And so glad I did now. So free, and technically nothing more. No fame, at least not yet from the promised and almost expected newspaper article. So although there was the potential for fame (as many others offer work from these articles, rather than being instantly recognised) I may still spend the rest of my life in obscurity. With no woman or income to speak of this was the one door to success that could make my life decent again. Not this time. So just freedom at the moment, and no other projects at all at the moment. Although most projects are sent to me, I can't actually initiate them myself so totally out of my hands. The women are no better but that's been the same for years. The last one (boring and p...

Chasseur D’images has tested 20 Pentax lenses
2008-05-20 13:08:00
Chasseur D’images, French photography magazine that is very popular in Europe, has tested two latest Pentax DSLRs and 20 (yep, twenty) lenses mounted on the Pentax K20D. Lots of optics tested here: from FA* 27-70/2.8, FA*85/1.4 to all Limiteds, DA*, the new DA17-70 SDM etc… Most lenses are quite good and a couple numbers simply excellent !! Talking about recent lenses: DA 17-70 SDM: it is good, vingettes a lot at 17 but it very nice upgrade over the kit lens. They say there’s no focus touch up (!! to be confirmed) but there’s indeed weather sealing. They do not say if it is SDM-only but I think so. DA*200/2.8: excellent !! DA*300/4: excellent !! DA35/2.8 macro: excellent ! DA* 50-135 and DA* 16-50/2.8: centering defects but otherwise very good. Great thanks to Thibouille for sharing such a good news. For those who can’t read French or live outside of Europe there is DA 35mm f/2.8 Macro Limited review from the DigitalCameraReview: In short, the new 3...

God is there even as you suffer, and you feel tested!

I had to watch this video twice to get the full impact. I hope you get it quicker than I did! LOL! It shows how God is waiting for us, and will fight for us even when times in our eyes are NOT good!1Co 10:13 You have been put to no test but such as is common to man: and God is true, who will not let any test come on you which you are not able to undergo; but he will make with the test a way out of it, so that you may be able to go through it. Look for God's way out of it!

Asus P5Q3 Deluxe P45 motherboard tested
2008-05-10 07:58:00
Fudzilla - Asus P5Q3 Deluxe P45 motherboard tested: "NordicHardware scored an exclusive review of the Asus P5Q3 Deluxe motherboad and they seem to like it a lot. Although they didn't have time to test every aspect of the board, the P45 chipset seems to be working properly on all accounts now, and this is indeed good news, as it's less than a month until the official launch. The new chipset doesn't add much in terms of performance, although it seems to be very close to Intel's X48 chipset in most of the benchmarks on test, which could potentially be bad news for Intel, as people might choose to go for the cheaper chipset due to the small performance differences. The P5Q3 Deluxe supports DDR3 memory and comes with Asus' USB 802.11 pre-N WiFi card, has a pair of dual x16 PCIe 2.0 slots, although as per all P45 motherboards these are limited to x8 bandwidth when both slots are being used. This is also the first motherboard we know of that features a 16-phase PWM, which seems somewhat...

Philips Satinelle: tested and approved by transvestites

Pystar's OpenMac desktop gets tested...
2008-05-01 05:17:00
And it's a mixed bag of peanuts apparently, this definitly isn't a machine that's going to fit in your Briggs and Riley luggage when you go moving cross country but it isn't a bad looking machine either. Also apparently according to Engadget's review theirs some definite issues with the hardware itself, nothing that will stop you from using it and speedily running a long with your frontrow goodness. But they did notice things that basically came down to incompatibilities with the motherboard and hardware they choose to use in the Pystar computers that isn't fully compatible with OSX out of the box. Such as the fan controller isn't working apparently so the fans run full speed all the time and make it a very very loud PC to deal with. As you can see they also found more incompatibilities that came into play when they tried to delve into the system preferences and memory checks... The non-compatible hardware while it was all working and performin...

ASUSTEK LOW-COST LIQUID COOLING SYSTEMS GETS TESTED, REVIEWED
2008-04-13 12:49:00
Filed under: Peripherals If you're making wagers with your SO that ASUSTeK's Low-Cost Liquid Cooling system has graced your memory bank before, kudos to you. Although this innovative (and simplistic) cooling solution has been kicking around in laboratories and a few OEM pieces for awhile, it's remained largely in the shadows until recently. Now that liquid cooling has risen (somewhat) to the mainstream, the LCLC -- which was featured in HP's Blackbird 002 gaming rig -- is finally moving to retail chains. That being the case, the kind folks over at Hot Hardware decided to put the heat on the firm's liquid cooling system and see if it lived up to the hoopla. All in all, reviewers felt that the LCLC went a long way in overcoming the typical limitations present in water cooling setups, and thankfully, the price / performance were both very impressive indeed. We can't cover six pages worth of in-depth analysis in this space, but all the gory details are just one click away.[Via Sla...

Inside the Checkpoints - American Christianity Tested by “Illegals”
2008-03-31 21:56:00
by Jay J. Johnson-Castro, Sr. As a child raised in this great country, I was taught to believe in a loving God, the Creator of the heavens and the Earth. I was also taught that, while under human rule, America was the one place on Earth that protected the precious freedoms with which our Creator endowed us. From childhood on, I was taught the highest of all principles were based on Love. Love of God, love of our neighbor, love of family and even love of our enemy. As citizens of a modern country that banners liberty, we have matured in some senses, and degenerated in other aspects. As Americans, we should realize that freedom of worship guarantees and protects religious along with ethnic and cultural diversity. As a country, we can no longer rightfully call the United States of America a Christian nation if, as a country, it does not live by the most basic of Christian values. At the same time, if we are true to our American values, the many thousands of religi...

British Athletes Tested For Doping
2008-03-27 19:40:00
UK Sports announced Wednesday that the Briton sports governing body will have every member athlete tested for doping at least once before sending them to the Beijing Olympic Games. "We have a duty to ensure we do all we can to show the world that the British teams competing in Beijing are drug-free," John Scott, director of Drug-Free Sport at UK Sport, said in a statement. As part of the country's most comprehensive pre-Olympic testing program, more than 1,500 tests will be carried out on athletes attending the world grand event, running on Aug. 8 to 24, and the following Paralympic Games. The program is run in partnership with the British Olympic Association (BOA) and British Paralympic Association (BPA). "The majority of tests will be attempted through no advance notice out-of-competition tests, either at squad training sessions or through whereabouts information provided by athletes, with additional tests targeted at key in-competition Beijing selection events," said Scott. C2Q Q6600 Heatsink Roundup -12 Tested
2008-03-20 00:00:00
As a follow up to the Heatsink Roundup on C2D, I've got another batch of tests using a Core2Quad Q6600 CPU, I've got twelve coolers in all being tested. I've eliminated a couple coolers I used for the C2D roundup though as they were not adequate to cool the C2D so they would not be able to handle the C2Q, but I've added Liquid Cooling and the Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme to the testing charts. The same as before, you'll find testing involving the fans connected to the CPU header, connected to a Molex and of course coolers that are able to use no fan at all. For testing I've got names like Thermalright, JetArt, GlacialTech, Corsair, OCZ, Scythe, Noctua, Coolink and the Intel Stock cooler. To make all testing even I used Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal compound on all coolers. This little roundup has been a while in the making so jump on in and see what's going on...

Time-Tested Tips For Cheaper Auto Insurance Rates
2008-03-12 16:45:00
Do you want to pay a lot less? Do you want cheaper auto insurance rates that won't mean you'll have to do with inadequate coverage? Then apply the following tips...1. Don't make the mistake of parking your car in places where it won't be safe. Is there a risk of theft, vandalism or accidental damage where you park your car? Then look for a better place as doing otherwise might lead to a claim that will eventually increase your rate. Furthermore, you might even get discounts with your insurer if you show that you have a good garage.Don't forget to always park your car in a well lit area when you're out. This is because thieves avoid well-lit areas but love operating in the dark. And for no reason should you leave your car in the open street for a whole night.2. Maintain an outstanding credit rating. Those who have poor credit pay higher premiums for every form of insurance and that is also true for auto insurance. For most insurers it shows a pattern they believe you are quite ...

Apparently, a study in the UK found that one in ten people actually managed to hurt themselves by walking into a post while peering down at their mobile phone screen.
