Testing the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused global warming
2008-06-17 06:19:00 -By Professor R. M. Carter James Cook University, Townsville Throughout the world, media news outlets have uncritically adopted the IPCC?s climate alarmism in their reporting and editorial stances. For example, a typical, egregiously untrue newspaper statement is that ?every credible piece of scientific advice we now have, including that of Australia?s peak scientific body, the CSIRO, ...

2008 Catalunya Post-Race Testing - Day 1
2008-06-10 02:15:00 Testing was rather eventful, with Casey Stoner setting the fastest time on the new carbon-fiber frame Ducati Desmosedici GP9, the bike scheduled to race next year. Both Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrosa switched back and forth between the steel-valve Honda RC212V and the new pneumatic valve engine, but Pedrosa had a nasty highside on cold tires, and was forced to retire. Testing of the bike will now be down to Nicky Hayden for tomorrow. Hayden was 4/10ths quicker on the new bike than on the old bike during the race weekend on race tires. The times were provided courtesy of GPOne.com. Testing continues tomorrow. 1Casey Stoner Ducati1'41.533 lap 45 of 52 Q 2Valentino Rossi Yamaha1'41.857 lap 60 of 61 Q 3Shinya Nakano Honda1'42.039 lap 41 of 50 Q 4James Toseland Yamaha1'42.505 lap 55 of 62 5Alex de Angelis Honda1'42.699 lap 30 of 42 Q 6Nicky Hayden Honda1'42.721 lap 60 of 70 7Sylvain Guintoli Ducati1'42.755 lap 56 of 57 Q 8Randy de Puniet Honda1'42.775 lap 48 of 54 9Chris Vermeu...

If you don?t like standardized testing results, just ?invalidate? them!
2008-06-06 22:34:00 According to Kathleen Kennedy Manzo, writer for EdWeek (6/4/08), the state of Georgia is just going to ignore test results for the entire state. They?ve realized that testing should serve schools ? and not the other way around!According to Manzo:Georgia education officials have decided to invalidate results from state social studies tests that a majority of 6th and 7th graders failed. The scores were ?implausibly low,? the officials said.State Superintendent Kathy Cox wrote in a letter to district leaders last month that there didn?t appear to be errors in scoring the tests, which just 20 percent to 30 percent of the state?s 6th and 7th grades passed. Instead, the new statewide curriculum and the assessments in those grades may need to be revised to ?better evaluate the knowledge and skills that represent student achievement in social studies,? she said.Ms. Cox, a former social studies teacher, said that the curriculum is too broad in some areas and may not prepare students for the ...

2008-06-04 12:27:00 Completed my testing of Human Spinner 1.0 Beta. It took nearly 12 hours for the results to be completed. And after completion, you have to choose the sentences that you like or you can reject. And the good thing is that the website will help you to write a seed file for use with JetSpinner. Testing Out This New Article Spinner By The Creators Of JetSpinner
2008-06-03 22:29:00 I have been testing out this new article spinner service call Human Spinner 1.0 (in beta stage currently) from the creators of JetSpinner. If you have been testing out the different article spinner services, you should roughly know that a software will try to change the words to something with the same meaning. An so far, most of the article spinner services have failed (other than the exception of ContentFX). But for this new service, Human Spinner 1.0, instead of having a program to change the words for you, each article that you submit will actually be changed by real human writers on the spot. You can choose to pay per paragraph or per sentence to change. I have just submitted my first article and opt for a change for all sentences just to see its result. It will be interesting because you can have the same article being rewritten by real humans instead of some lousy piece of software. I think it takes around 1 hour for the article to be totally rewritten for each se...

He takes advantage of the remarkable decrease in computational costs that has occurred since the early 1980s by implementing such sophisticated techniques as stochastic simulation. Testing Macroeconometric Models also incorporates the assumption of rational expectations in the estimation, solution, and testing of the models. And it presents the latest versions of Fair's models of the economies of the United States and other countries. After estimating and testing the U.S. model, Fair analyzes its properties, including those relevant to economic policymakers: the optimal monetary policy instrument, the effect of a government spending reduction on the government deficit, whethe...

2008-05-24 22:15:00 In Novell's new SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 SP2, announced yesterday, you'll find only small, but useful, improvements, most of them for better interoperability with Microsoft protocols and formats. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 10 SP2 includes support for fully virtualized Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003. Novell claims system administrators can also migrate these Windows Server guests across physical machines in real-time. Because of the Microsoft/Novell partnership, SLES is the only third-party virtualization solution offering full Microsoft support for its Windows Server guests. In return, the Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V hypervisor, now a release candidate, also supports SLES as a virtual guest.
