2008-05-15 05:21:00
According to local authorites, a married couple living in Sentinel on the River in Roswell Georgia in a $700,000 home on Sentinae Chase had been producing human growth hormone (HGH), testosterone, copy-cat versions of Cialis and selling it on the internet.Authorities had been investigating the couple for the past three months. Investigators say the house was setup like a drug manufacturing assembly line, actually putting the chemicals together. The couple sold $25,000-$30,000 a day, making more than $100,000 a week selling the drugs over the internet all over the country. It is believed the couple had been producing the drugs for years, however it wasn’t until recently when authorities received a tip that they began investigating. The home and everything in it was seized by Food and Drug Administration Investigators, but the couple who have not yet been arrested were free to leave on their own which has several neighbors angered.Further investigation led to the current owner’s na...

New Study Links Testosterone To Short-Term Money Gains
2008-04-16 17:50:00
The hormone that drives male aggression and sexual interest also seems able to boost short- term success at finance. But what seems to start out well can turn bad, with elevated testosterone levels over several days possibly leading to irrational risk-taking, according to researchers at the University of Cambridge in England."If people want to get practical, it would be good for both banks and the financial system as a whole if we had more women and older men in the markets," said John M. Coates, lead author of a study appearing in this week's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.Such a change would produce a much more stable financial system, said Coates, a research fellow in the university's department of physiology, development and neuroscience.Coates and Joe Herbert studied male financial traders in London, taking saliva samples in the morning and evening. They found that levels of two hormones, testosterone and cortisol, affected traders. Those with higher levels of ...

Testosterone and Prostate Cancer
2008-01-18 07:32:00
By Plato Rosinke Everyone should know that when testosterone is metabolized, it produces DHT as one of the by-products, which is what allows your muscles and erections to grow. That is a good thing! However, DHT that doesn't get burned up during sex or working out is also what is at the root of your prostate problems to begin with. The fact of the matter is that DHT is always being produced,

Humour 'comes from testosterone'
2007-12-21 10:49:00
Genetics may underlie humour Men are naturally more comedic than women because of the male hormone testosterone, an expert claims. Men make more gags than women and their jokes tend to be more aggressive, Professor Sam Shuster, of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, says. The unicycling doctor observed how the genders reacted to his "amusing" hobby. Women tended to make encouraging, praising comments, while men jeered. The most aggressive were young men, he told the British Medical Journal. Previous findings have suggested women and men differ in how they use and appreciate humour. Women tend to tell fewer jokes than men and male comedians outnumber female ones. Aggressively funny Research suggests men are more likely to use humour aggressively by making others the butt of the joke. And aggression - generally considered to be a more masculine trait - has been linked by some to testosterone exposure in the womb. Professor Shuster believes humour ...
Testosterone Mismatch and Balance of Power
2007-12-16 08:54:00
Nature has arranged things so that male testosterone gives to males an extremely strong need for sex. This gives to women advantages on the "market of sex and relationships".Every woman on the Planet knows that if she enters a bar a small "hint" to sex from her - or in many cases even without her - will get her the chance of getting prompt sex under minutes from the time she gets in.I am reading right now on another forum about this "shit test" a woman gave to a guy in a relationship"Her: I?m not gonna say you can?t date other women, but if you?re sleeping with me, then I don?t want you sleeping with anyone else?that?s just disgusting!"Now when interpreted from the point of view of traditional morals what this woman is actually saying is:"If you are having a relationship with me then you shall be physically faithful to me otherwise I will condemn you with eternal guilt for being such a pig"Instead - attention, attention ! - when interpreted from the point of view of evolutionary psy...
Hairy Men and Testosterone
2007-12-12 18:40:00
I'm totally stealing this topic from Veinglory over at EREC, so hopefully she'll forgive me.See, she did a post about hairy chests. And whether we like hairy chests or not. (My comments is there, I'm just expanding it and making it actually about writing, gasp.)For years I didn't. Hairy chests=yuck. Perhaps some of this stemmed from a man I saw in high school, when I worked at a movie theatre. He was wearing a tank top and the man was not hairy. The man was furry. Literally. Back and front. It tufted out above the straps of his shirt and over the neckline. Supergross. But as I age (ech), I realize...hairy chests mean something to me. And maybe they always did.I want to preface this by saying two things: One, my husband is not a hairy man and is, of course, incredibly handsome and sexy and everything. And two, these are simply my thoughts and theories, and are not meant to reflect on anyone else in any way. I'm not a sociologist, guys, I only have a GED (damned algebra).I think a...

High Testosterone Linked to Men's Lower Death Risk
2007-11-28 17:41:00
Higher naturally occurring levels of the male hormone testosterone appear to protect men from fatal heart attacks or strokes and death from all manner of causes, researchers in Britain said on Monday. But the researchers cautioned men not to begin testosterone supplementation based on the results of this 10-year study, saying the benefits and risks are unclear. The role of testosterone in men's health is controversial, with the relationship between men's natural testosterone levels and overall health not well understood, according to the researchers. But this study led by Dr. Kay-Tee Khaw, a professor of clinical gerontology at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine in Britain, found strong benefits in men with higher natural levels of the hormone.Men in the upper 25 percent of natural testosterone levels had a 41 percent lower risk of dying from heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular conditions, cancer and all other causes, compared to men with the lowest lev...

The Discovery of Testosterone
2007-09-09 23:46:00
The Discovery of Testosterone "In 1929, researchers discovered that male urine contained the mysterious male hormone. Two years later, a professor at the University of Gottinggen named Adolf Butenandt, in conjunction with the Schering pharmaceutical company, isolated minute amounts of the substance and named it androsterone. In 1934, another researcher purified the hormone from cholesterol, and he and Butenandt were later named co-winners of 1938 Nobel Prize in chemistry for their work. In-between those events, in 1935, a professor named Ernst Laquer, with his colleagues and the Dutch pharmaceutical company, Organon, purified the hormone even further from bull testes and gave it the name ? queue up sound of heavenly choir ? Testosterone!" [1] [1]http://www.t-nation.com/read-Article.do?id=1557428&cr= [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Natural ways to increase testosterone
2007-08-28 12:25:00
Testosterone hormone is produced by testicles in men. It is responsible for development of male sexual characters like physical strength, muscle mass, body shape, body hair, deep voice, sexual function etc. Erectile dysfunction occurs when testosterone level is reduced. But this is not the only cause for erectile dysfunction.Causes for low testosterone levels:Age: The testosterone level in blood start reducing as age advances .Usually it starts between 35 to 45 years of age.
