2011-05-02 03:17:00 When we last left our favorite racers we had just said good-bye to Jet and Cord. Now it is a whole new leg of the race and the remaining five teams are all fighting to stay alive and win a million dollars. The five teams still racing are Kent and Vyxsin, Gary and Mallory, Flight Time and Big Easy, Kisha and Jen and Zev and Justin, who are the first to head off on the newest adventure. They learn they must make their way to the Air Rescue Helicopter port and sign up for a helicopter leaving in five minute intervals. Each team will receive their next clue before taking off in the helicopter. Zev and Justin are followed by Kisha and Jen, Kent and Vyxsin, Gary and Mallory and Flight Time and Big Easy. However Gary and Mallory get a cab before Kent and Vyxsin and so they were actually number three in line for the helicopter inside of the fighting Goth couple. "The Amazing Race 13" kept in Sunday slot for fall 2008
2008-05-14 15:31:00 "The Amazing Race 13" has been officially set to air this fall 2008 in its usual Sunday 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. After learning from last year's "Viva Laughlin" fiasco, CBS officially slotted TAR without further delay for a regular fall debut. As usual, the program will be subject to delays resulting from extended National Football League overruns. In large measure because of the football overruns, "The Amazing Race" has found a comfortable home in the Sunday 8 p.m. slot. The past two editions of TAR that have benefited from football overruns (TAR10 & TAR12) have each scored more than acceptable ratings. The other CBS Sunday slots will be unchanged with one exception. "60 Minutes" will remain at 7 p.m. as TAR's lead-in, fellow Jerry Bruckheimer-program "Cold Case" returns to be TAR's lead-out at 9 p.m. The exception was legal drama "Shark", cancelled and replaced in the 10 p.m. ET time slot by veteran military-based drama "The Unit." ----Relevant link: CBS Press Express

The renewal guarantees at least two more TAR runs including the one now wrapping up production, both likely to air during the 2008-2009 television season. The ordering of TAR14 now means that "The Amazing Race 13" will likely not be delayed to midseason as speculated elsewhere but should instead air on time during fall 2008. "The Amazing Race 14" should then follow in quick order for airing in winter/spring 2009.Casting for "The Amazing Race 14" had already started several weeks ago on CBS.com in anticipation of the expected extra run of the program but the official confirmation of run #14 only came down today. UPDATE: "The Amazing Race 12" is expected to air in the midseason, according to USA Today. A significant break, any kind of break in the taping schedule would cost TAR12 any chance at a fall schedule slot.The first inescapable reality inevitably leads to the second inescapable reality. 2007-05-07 03:30:00 ----The finale of "The Amazing Race: All-Stars" had an absolutely fascinating final major task that ultimately decided the outcome.With more time beyond the live blog to explain this, what happened is that one member of each team had to answer a set of four questions about the other teams. Those answers would make up the combination for the safe with the next clue. The second member of each team then had to independently match up her answers with those of her race partner to get the box and receive the next clue. That clue would give the final end destination for TAR11.I'll have to go into the tape later tonight or Monday to get a transcript of all the questions and answers but eventually Danielle was able to match up her answers with Eric to leave in first place. "The Amazing Race: All-Stars" finale tonight
2007-05-06 06:29:00 ----It has been an up and down two and a half months of televised action for "The Amazing Race: All-Stars." Reality television stars Rob and Amber dominated the early stages of the race before their shocking fourth leg elimination. Longtime friends Oswald and Danny seemed to perform the best during the race's middle legs. Ultimately though, beauty queens Dustin and Kandice, daters Eric and Danielle and cousins Charla and Mirna were left to vie on tonight's broadcast for the title as champions of "The Amazing Race" and winners of a shared $1 million prize.The finale will air in the normal Sunday 8 p.m. EDT/PDT timeslot on CBS and Canada's CTV for the normal one hour length. The audience levels have been as up and down as some of the racing performances but hopefully, tonight's more than unusual finale will provide a more than usual viewership.----

The Amazing Race and Peking Duck
2007-02-20 09:57:02 I had two firsts last night - watching the Amazing Race and eating peking duck. It’s ironic that I’ve seen a ton of reality shows, yet I have always passed up the one about international travel where the contestants carry all their stuff all on their backs. The only reason I decided to start watching this all star season is that I got to know Rob and Amber, a popular married couple who have been on Survivor, through another show they shot last year. Ok, I admit that I mostly watch for Amber because she’s hot! Rob makes a good sidekick. At any rate, they came in first on the leg last shown last night from Miami to Ecuador. I can appreciate their competitiveness, and think I’m in for the full race. The peking duck was enjoyed at Peking Gourmet Inn, a chinese restaurant frequented by Presidents Bush Sr, Bush Jr, the Clintons, and tons of other politicians and foreign leaders. 2006-10-09 17:09:02 The Amazing Race is a television show that pairs up couples so that they can take a worldwide journey filled with difficult tasks. The object of the game is to complete each task and hope that you are not the last person to finish or risk being eliminated. My thoughts on this show and saying this as nicely as possibly, most of the contestants should be deemed unfit for travel abroad. Have you ever heard of snobby Americans going abroad and thinking that things should be done the American way or that every other country is unfit for human life? Well that?s how some of the contestants presented themselves during the episode that aired last night. They were in the cultural diverse and history city of Hanoii, Vietnam. It does not take a genius to figure out that by yelling the English language is not going to make any who does not speak English understand you better. But that?s how Rob and Kimberly acted.
