Harry Reid: Clinton's Iran Comment Is "Not The American Way"
2008-05-07 23:07:00 HARRY REID: Well, I am certainly doing my best not to take sides in this presidential thing. But I think that flexing our muscles, threatening people, threatening countries, is not the American way. We have -- as President Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt said, "speak softly, carry a big stick." Words to that effect. And that's what I think we should do. Speak softly, make sure that people know that we can react if we have to, but let's not go around threatening people. Yep, from good old Harry Reid. The same guy who said "the war in Iraq is lost". As much as I hate to defend Hillary, she was asked about a nuclear attack from Iran against the Israeli's. She responded that we would indeed help our allies in that time of need. I guess helping allies isn't "the American way" according to Harry, but then again, this is the same guy who backs down from any threat known to man, and I don't think he even understands what "the American way" really means. So, in the...
negotiable or not, the American Way of Life must be extinguished?.
2008-04-23 18:19:00 Another article worthy of a full reprint: Is the Western consumerist culture that we inflict upon the rest of the world truly the pinnacle of our evolution? If it is, I resign my membership in the human race. Though I don?t fear that I?ll be compelled to tender my resignation any time soon because our so-called ...
Polar Bears Will Destroy the American Way of Life
2008-03-25 15:01:00 From Scientific American: At least that's the real threat according to many attendees at the recent Heartland Institute conference on global warming. And let's not forget, as physicist and noted contrarian S. Fred Singer told the conference: "Polar bears like to eat tiny little sea

Truth, Justice, the American Way & John McCain
2008-03-16 05:54:00 CHARACTER COUNTSWe are living in a day when the concepts of Truth, Justice, The American Way and all of that good stuff is just not popular. It isn’t politically correct. Neither is the concept of honor, decency, and patriotism. It is rather sad when men like George W. Bush and John McCain are treated with contempt and derision by the rank and file within the nation. The other night I ranted and raved about the young “slut” who sold her body and is well on the way to making millions from it. I don’t begrudge her a cent of ...
Tax Relief the American Way!
2008-02-15 07:01:00 One of the reasons that the American colonies broke away from England was squarely over the issue of taxes. The colonists felt that the British royalty was exacting too much taxation with very little representation given. The Boston Tea Party and other acts of revolt crystallized the differences between the two parties which ultimately led to a full scale revolution and founding of a new nation.
There's no way like the American way
2008-02-11 13:38:00 "Nobody's safe. That's the warning from the first large-scale study of medical bankruptcy.Health insurance? That didn't protect 1 million Americans who were financially ruined by illness or medical bills last year.A comfortable middle-class lifestyle? Good education? Decent job? No safeguards there. Most of the medically bankrupt were middle-class homeowners who had been to college and had responsible jobs -- until illness struck. As part of a research study at Harvard University, our researchers interviewed 1,771 Americans in bankruptcy courts across the country. To our surprise, half said that illness or medical bills drove them to bankruptcy. So each year, 2 million Americans -- those who file and their dependents -- face the double disaster of illness and bankruptcy." (in washingtonpost.com)And now a little joke:"The 15,000 dead that Michael Moore forgot aboutIn 2003 France experienced a heat wave and the result was almost 15,000 deaths. USA Today reported that most the victim...

The Sickness of The ?American? Way of Life
2008-02-06 10:24:00 “Now I get sick only when I go back to America… My American friends were shoveling platefuls of leftover food into the garbage disposal. I threw up all over the counter. I had forgotten what perfectly good food looked like going down the drain to the sewer. It was like watching a disgustingly drunk billionaire ...

Bad Credit Consolidation - The American Way?
2008-01-28 14:33:00 As a direct result of being unable to manage credit, many Americans have resorted to bad credit consolidation. Bad credit consolidation is fast becoming a fact of life in the United States, and it seems everybody owes, be it school loans, or mortgage payments. Most bad credit and the resulting card debt consolidation is due to ...
Semper Fi?
2008-01-27 20:55:00 I’m gonna re-post this video I found over at Just John’s, or Write on the Right, as his blog is named. A super fine Gunnery Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps. A man I’ve known since I first got into blogging. He was one of my very first commenters on a blog I had ...
Pluralism and the American Way Of Life
2008-01-18 12:03:00 I assisted this week in about forty different funerals in Arlington National Cemetery. At each one, I stood about five feet away from the next of kin at the grave site. I watched mothers grieve the loss of their children. I saw brothers grieve the loss of their siblings. I saw children weep knowing that they will never see their parent again.I particularly remember one such child. His shoulders shook uncontrollably. His face was covered in tears. His sobbing could be heard loudly, distinctly throughout the entire ceremony. He was about thirteen or fourteen years old and he was being forced to attend the funeral of his mother, a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He was just old enough to understand what was going on. He was obviously very torn emotionally. It is always a joy, however, to hear the Chaplains step forward and share hope with these families. Most of the chaplains that I work with are protestant. One, in fact, is an Independent Baptist chaplain. With these, it is a...

Shopping in the USA- The American Way
2008-01-11 17:34:00 Shopping in the USA- The American WayMore seems cheaper only because less is more expensive The less you buy of something in the USA the more it costs. This is against my logic but right in line with the “buy today, buy tomorrow” mentality of my people. Shopping in the USA is an exploit into the subtle rip-offs of capitalist reasoning: if something can be made to look cheap in relative terms, people will think that it really is cheap.I wanted to buy some batteries yesterday; so I go to the store and begin picking some out. Hmm . . . twenty Duracell batteries cost $11 while only eight costs $6. What do I do? It would be cheaper per battery to buy 20, but do I really want to walk around with TWENTY batteries knocking around in my bag weighting me down? No. Do I want to spend more money per battery for the privilege of being able to buy less and have a lighter load? No. If I can buy twenty at a certain price, why can’t I have the same price for eight? I do not understand. But this...

Financial Freedom of America ? The American Way
2007-12-15 22:37:00 The idea of financial freedom of America has been somewhat distorted by the American way of charging now and paying later. As Americans staunchly defend their inalienable rights, they also feel they can charge! This philosophy particularly applies to young people, who think they have the rest of their lives to pay off bills and ...
Glenn Beck And The American Way
2007-11-01 11:47:00 We're being attacked someplace else in the cover of night and if we lose this battle, we lose it all. Here's "The Point" tonight. G.I. Joe is the latest casualty in the war against the American way and I know, I know, it's just a toy, a little hunk of plastic, a cartoon. I know. And that makes it easy to dismiss this. But I believe that would be a huge mistake.Where in the world is Beck going with this and why does CNN allow him airtime?

Carnival Of Debt Reduction #85: The American Way Of Debt Edition
2007-04-30 11:23:00 Let’s start this edition of the Carnival of Debt Reduction with some historical perspective on debt in America. Here are some interesting facts on consumer debt in the 19th century (source). Before organized consumer credit, there were five major lending sources: pawnbrokers, illegal small-loan lenders, retailers, friends and family, and mortgage lenders. Indebtedness was common prior ...

2007-04-25 19:48:00 “Nobody knows you when you’re down and out,” says Mr. Clapton. I have a different problem. I’m finally good, and nobody seems to know me. Is it better to be on drugs, and have a lot of people to get high with, or sit alone and do other things? Fuck drugs. I’d rather just spend ...
