Protective Antioxidants In Every Bite
2008-04-22 00:29:00 Cheryl Forberg, author of Positively Ageless and nutritionist for the NBC reality series The Biggest Loser, recommends that we eat our antioxidants. In this FirstLook at Positively Ageless, Ms. Forberg focuses on the value of foods high in vitamins, specifically C and E, both of which offer protection from free radicals. Instead of downing vitamin pills, aim to add various types of fruits and vegetables to the diet. These natural foods offer both tremendous varieties of antioxidants and phytochemicals which operate successfully together within the body. Ms. Forberg writes that scientists have "barely scratched the surface of knowing what these food components do individually, let alone in teams."Strongly flavored vegetables like garlic, ginger and onions, when fused together in a dish (think curry) provide antioxidants, antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. Individually, each extends relief from in...

The Biggest Loser - ABC
2008-04-17 13:28:00 Last night's Democratic "debate" in Philly was an embarrassment, and not for the candidates. (Except, perhaps, for their poor judgement in showing up at all.) It should not come as a surprise to Charlie Gibson that the crowd heckled him when he announced that ABC would be cutting away to their last commercial break of the evening. The fact that it took a full fifty minutes for the moderators to make it past the minutia of silly season comments and manufactured scandals was sad enough, but when we finally got around to any "issues" in the final half hour, the questions were still poorly formed gotcha attempts demonstrating some fundamental breakdowns in understanding on the part of the moderators.Of all these, the most degrading moment for Gibson came when he attempted to trap the candidates with a jaw dropping question on their proposed plans to withdraw from Iraq. He pounced in, demanding to know if they would still withdraw "even if the generals advised otherwise." It is a low ma...
The Biggest Loser
2008-04-16 23:38:00 Did anyone watch the Biggest Loser last night? I love this show and last night was the season finale. The first time in 5 years a woman won - whooo hooo! You really have to admire the contestants. I'm such a couch potato. I wish I could get motivated to work out. I know with young kids it isn't easy to join a gym and find time to actually go. Still I could do sit ups at home. Or I could take the dog and kids for a daily walks. There are things I could do. Things I should do. So why don't I?I am telling myself that I will get more exercise this summer. Right now we are basically stuck in doors with the constant rain. Once the sun comes out and STAYS out there will be bike rides, walks to the park and plenty of fresh air.The one thing I dislike about the Pacific Northwest is the constant rain in the winters. It rains 24/7 here. You might get a few hours here and there, but it is dark, damp and very wet. I'm so glad that summer is almost here. I need the sunshine. ...

The Biggest Loser Finale
2008-04-16 18:06:00 So, if you haven’t watched the show and don’t know who won then you best skip this post If you already know then you must be so happy!! Starting at a weight of 234 pounds, Ali lost a stunning 112 pounds to take the title of the Biggest Loser. The first female contestant to ever win the Biggest Loser! It was a thrill for everyone - and you could totally tell she knew it that she had won… She gets on the scale and Allison Sweeney said she had to lose 105 pounds - and she kept repeating it like she couldn’t believe that she was going to win… it was a very nice moment for her. For us, it really shows us that just because we can’t lose weight as fast as men, we can lose more I think I might have told you - I can totally relate to Ali because I’m the size weight as she was when she first started and the same height. But I don’t think we’re the same bone structure - I mean I do have size 10 shoes and very wide shoulders and wrists....

2008-04-16 12:08:00 'The Biggest Loser' Gets Its First Female Winner!Post by: SalSource: Zap2ItThe live finales for "The Biggest Loser" are kind of bizarre, as it's basically two hours of people stepping on and off scales. They could easily do this in an hour (or less), but they choose not to. Still, it's great to see how people look and how they've been doing.First order of business: who did America vote for? Apparently, America prefers a cocky, bullying good-old-boy jock to a snippy-then-weepy New Englander -- Roger will compete in the finals. Roger looks like he's shed an entire person, and I can't imagine how either Ali or Kelly could compete with that, unless they cut off a limb right before getting on the scale. The EliminatedI love seeing everybody come back on stage, all dressed up and looking fine. They all look substantially healthier. Standouts:* Mallory, Jackie and Amanda could easily compete on MILF Island -- they look incredible.* Neill and Dan both seem to be sporting some variatio...

Who does America want to be in The Biggest Loser finale - Roger or Mark.
2008-04-09 04:00:00 This is something a little bit different, here I’m usually blogging on Big Brother, American Chopper or even a little bit on Survivor, however since I’ve been watching the biggest loser for years now and I like the Couples twist this season in the game, this caught my eye, this season has been a season of first's, it’s all about one pound, the extras, like trips that included going down under Australia and one team going to Las Vegas, one player having a second chance by winning their way back in to the game by losing the most weight which for the guys was Mark and for the girls was Ali, but you know, I love it when all of these shows ask for America to get involved by voting something, whether its voting a favorite player back in or voting for a challenge, it’s cool to see just what America thinks, I mean where the one’s watching the show.Well this season, now America has a vote and it’s big, America gets to choose either Roger or Mark into the finale at a chance to co...

The Biggest Loser--Wrong About The Need To Cheat
2008-03-14 20:44:00 TONY DEAN, known as The Meanest Man of Dieting, and the author of The F.A.S.T. Diet (Families Always Succeed Together) lives with his family in Omaha, Nebraska. After the Dean family of eight had lost 500 pounds, they decided to make an impact on their community and helped a group from their home city lose 4,000 pounds. Now the Dean family is taking this crusade from city to city, helping people lose weight using The F.A.S.T Diet. Guest Blogger Tony Dean--Like most people I love the show "The Biggest Loser," especially how it demonstrates how hard one must work out to lose weight. What I don’t understand is how such a seemingly credible source can sometimes give such terrible advice. On the last show, Bob Harper, who I respect completely said something like, “On The Biggest Loser we have a cheat day after each weigh in to shock the body and recharge the metabolism.” Sounds great right? This comment was wrong in so many ways, but as a viewer I can only imag...

Who is the biggest loser?
2008-03-05 17:00:00 One of my favorite shows after News is reality shows which is very popular today around the world even in Asia we have such kind of show. I like it it because they are not scripted not like other shows that every participants are required to memorize their script. There are many reality show today like The Amazing Race, survivor and the best of all "The Biggest Loser". I like this show because it requires discipline, perseverance and it concerns our health. It has a health relevant so to speak. It is even adapted here in Middle East where wearing a revealing outfit is restricted. Most of the people here are fats because of eating Kabsa, a rice food with chicken or other meat with much oil. It will surely make you fat if you do not watch your weight. Watching this show always encouraged me to stay fit and healthy. Survivor is also good to watch because it will help you survive in jungle or place where you will do like a boy scout and find any means to survive.RealityTVFan.org offers y...

The Biggest Loser
2008-02-20 12:48:00 Has anyone been watching this show? I love it! Every time I watch it I feel like I could run 5 miles, lol… but alas I never seem to Well tonight I had even more motivation to lose the weight. I’m not sure what week we’re in, but I know its pretty far along in the season and I just figured something out! Do you know the brothers Mark and Jay? It wasn’t until tonights episode when they sent him home that I realized that I knew him! I had always thought he looked familiar but I just figured he looked like every other guy from Mass that I used to know. Turns out that we went to the same Catholic school. He was in a grade ahead of me, and since our school was so small (25 people or so in each class total), we used to hang out together! One Halloween party we were playing spin the bottle and I had to kiss Mark Kruger in a closet for like 7 minutes How funny is that! He had gained so much weight that I to...

Who Will Be the Biggest Loser? Roger Clemens or Bud Selig and Henry Waxman
2008-02-13 21:45:00 WHO'S ON FIRST?Baseball is a funny thing. A good baseball fan can simply throw out a group of stats and prove a point. According to Allen Barra, an expert in baseball and the life of Wyatt Earp (and a friend of mine) Bob Costas has done some numbers crunching. If Costas is correct about this numbers Roger Clemens did not use steroids. I have a source in the "know" who thinks Clemens may have taken a little something, but not much, but that McNamee is doing some serious lying. This person also wants to know why Waxman is even ...
Clemens vs. McNamee: Who is the biggest loser?
2008-02-13 21:01:00 I am going to be up front. I believe Brian McNamee. I believed him before today’s bizarre hearing and nothing changed that. I can’t believe how bad Roger Clemens is at public speaking. It’s like nails on a blackboard. He goes off on tangents I can’t relate to. Anyway, the bottom line is Clemens isn’t changing his ...

The Biggest Loser
2007-12-02 07:00:00 Last night was weigh in for "The Biggest Loser." A bunch of us. Being that I am about 3 slices of pumpkin pie from having to buy that manzier, I thought it would be good to participate. Seven of us are in it, and each week the bottom two "contestants" (the ones who have lost the least amount of weight) have to kick five dollars into the pot. It is based on the percentage of weigh in.So far, I have lost five pounds. At the same time, as much as it behooves one to personally succeed, it also behooves one to see that others fail. I came back to my room and there was a Heineken with two bags of potato chips waiting for me at my door. Like I drink German beer. I put the beer and chips above my door as a testament to willpower, to show all in the land that their silly attacks on me will be for naught... like England used to put the heads of its criminals on pikes and display them along the fence of the castle for ALL to see. So I am eating my carrots and biding my time. Retributio...
Who Will Be The Biggest Loser This New Year?
2007-11-30 12:04:00 Obesity comes at a cost. Personally, it comes right out of the wallet to pay for a premium airline seat, extra gas in the tank, time off work, and medical expenses. Physically, obesity exacts payment from the body in many serious ways. According to U. S. Government statistics, two-thirds of Americans, age 20 and over are either obese or overweight. That's approximately 133.6 million people with a Body Mass Index greater than 25. Of these, practically one-third or 63.6 million are actually obese.* The statistics presented here are based on the following definitions unless otherwise specified: healthy weight = BMI > 18.5 to < 25; overweight = BMI > 25 to < 30; obesity = BMI > 30; and extreme obesity = BMI > 40.For employers, obesity means more loss in both indirect cost of more sick days, lower productivity while on the job, and the direct cost of health expenses incurred, between $460 and $2,500 per obese employee annually.Obesity is t...

2007-09-06 17:38:00 When Andy Roddick lost to Roger Federer at the U.S. Open last night, it was the continuation of an unfortunate trend for him. Roddick's career record against Federer now stands at 1-14, for a .066 winning percentage. While this news must be disconcerting for Roddick and his fans, there are some baseball fans who feel a similar despair when their teams play a certain opponent. In honor of Roddick's wretched record, here is a look at the 10 worst winning percentages in head-to-head match-ups in Major League Baseball history.(Criteria: Records from 1901 through 2007, with a minimum of 162 head-to-head games, in the regular season only. The Biggest Loser Can Save Money!
2007-03-05 13:46:00 Reality shows are now popular in every channel across the world. Some of them are base on some of the United States best show like American Idol, The Apprentice, Fear Factors and the one which I like to watch because I think this show has a lot of lessons like self discipline, perseverance, getting along with anyone. The show of course is “The Biggest Loser” whose all episodes were successful.I always watch this show and I like watching how those obese individuals reduce from their almost a half thousand pounds shrunk to normal weight. The best part of course is the tasks and missions the trainer is imparting to them. I can say that almost anyone here is honest. Of course you will be caught if you’re cheating. How? By weighing, when your weight does not change then you are not following the instruction. A lot of hard training is given to them like physical and mental training. Really if you want to change for better you need to watch your weight. Exercising alone will not help... |
