2007-06-10 00:39:00 Dopo alcuni anni di assenza sono (finalmente) tornati i Travis con il loro nuovo lavoro, il quinto. Un disco molto atteso sia dai numerosi ammiratori che dai detrattori della band scozzese, dopo l'insuccesso del precedente album "12 Memories", un disco cupo ed eccessivamente malinconico realizzato in mezzo a vari problemi personali dei componenti del gruppo e in cui venivano affrontate tematiche politiche e sociali.Le recensioni di questo disco, su internet e riviste inglesi, sono molte e non tutte lusinghiere. Anzi diverse esprimono un giudizio negativo sull'album, e a volte anche sulla stessa band, considerandolo un lavoro non degno di nota. Non mancano naturalmente i giudizi positivi e sinceramente io mi trovo più in sintonia con questi ultimi, trovandolo davvero un bel disco.Partiamo innanzitutto da una curiosità sul titolo dell'album, "The Boy With No Name", dedicato al figlio del cantante dei Travis, Fran Healy. 2007-05-23 20:10:00 1. 3 Times And You Lose [9/10]this might honestly be the best opening track ever on an album. It's not too flashy and not too dull. It's right in the middle of Rock and and a smooth Piano Ballad, but the whole time it stays true to be complete bliss. Fran Healy and Andy Dulop create rock brilliance on this track, fans of Radiohead might enjoy this track more than any of us, also U2 fans will feel some influence of Bono here.2. Selfish Jean [8/10]This song will sound familiar to some Travis fans, maybe one of you die hards can tell me why for a pat on the back? HINT - It was the b-side to a certain song in 1997. Anyways I love this song. It's got a great melody backing it and the vocals are as smooth as ever. Also the structure of this song is amazing the last 30 seconds sealed the deal for me.3.
