Dethklok: The DethalbumLike the Gorillaz, Dethklok is a cartoon. Starring in their own TV show Metalocalypse, Dethklok leaps from the screen to your stereo with the first release from the "band".The songs on the album were all debuted during episodes of Metalocalypse in shortened forms. The only song not premiered on the show was "Hatredcopter" which was released on the Saw III soundtrack in Europe.The band consists of real live people Brendon Small (a stand up comedian and long time Cartoon Network writer) and Gene Hoglan (drummer for Strapping Young Lad).Unlike the Gorillaz, Dethklok is a tongue-in-cheek musical experience. Playing in to every death metal stereotype possible, the "band" has still made themselves beloved to metalheads. Brandon Small is amazingly proficient at song writing in the death metal style as well as mimicking the guitar and bass sound of the genre. No one has ever questions Gene Hoglan's drumming abilities.
