The F-Word in Luxury Real Estate
2008-06-10 18:38:00
by Roberta Murphy Forecl—– It’s a word softly whispered when luxury homeowners in luxe communities like Palm Beach (33480), Beverly Hills (90210), Greenwich (06831) and Rancho Santa Fe (92067) discuss their local real estate markets. Real estate prices have been declining in many of these markets throughout the country, and some of the heavily mortgage homes are ending

A conversation with M (age 5) the other day: Me: F@ck! (I can’t remember what I was cursing about). Me: M?  You know that some people think that the word “F@ck” is a bad word, right? M: Yeah.  I know. Me: I just wanted to make sure.  I think if you said that word in front on your grandparents, ...
Return of the F-Word

Gordon is back, and he is as mouthy as ever… but still I love him and his F-Word show! Of all the cooking shows available on UK television, the F-Word is by far my favourite. There is just something about the format that makes me an avid viewer and lover of the show. If you have ...

A couple of months ago I told you about a senior citizen bus travel provider who didn’t seem too aware of the impression it might leave to typographically abstract the two diacritic dots in his family name to create a company logo. I just spotted one of his buses again. I think he noticed. (For non-germans: The ...

More Trouble with the ?F? Word
2008-04-03 18:59:00
The President is fond of using the ?F? word. I?m not talking about Family or Fundamentalism. I?m talking about Faith. It?s so much softer and vaguer, so much more soothing to talk about ?faith-based programs.? If we called them what they are, religion-based programs, we?d all wake up. ?Which religion?? we would ask. ...

No, I?m not going to write a whole blog post about an explicative. The ?F? word I?m referring to is feminism ? a term that can send shivers up the spines of legions of women as they imagine angry women sitting around plotting how to eradicate men. That?s not the kind of feminism I?m talking about, or, I think, even really think exists. But I will tell you about a breed of feminism that does exist.

Who said the F word better on live TV?

I think I have to give this one to Diane Keaton because I loved the way she said it and the way Diane Sawyer and her responded to it!!! That woman interviewing Colin Farrell had no control of the interview before he said it and even less after, she needs reporting school ASAP.

The 'F' Word
2008-01-05 22:27:00
No I'm not talking about cussing... I'm not even talking about food, I'm talking about something far more important than that.Fun.It's occurred to me that it's been ages since I just wrote something light hearted and fun, and that's a little frustrating for me. Every now and then we all need to just blow the lid off our overindulged sense of importance or seriousness and let it all out in a good bout of smiles and laughter. That's not easy round these parts, people are spread out far and wide and it's not so easy to hang out with them.Hopefully in a few months I will be mobile again and I will be able to see some of the faces I have missed. I also have a bit of a madcap idea to loop the nation in a "tour" of people I know... both friends I have made in the flesh... and a few people online too.I went down the town centre to hang out at a pub disco the other night, but the town is largely dead. I think this is a combination of things - people having to tighten the belt in the ...

DROPPING THE F-WORD
2007-09-12 15:27:00
I didn't know him, and he didn't know me, but I hurt his feelings. I didn't mean to hurt his feelings, but I know did. I was just so caught off guard. What happened? A group of guys had just gathered, and this man started to tell a story. He had peppered the story with plenty of curse words, and then to finish it off he dropped a couple of big "f-bombs." They were all words I'd heard before. That wasn't what shocked me. It was when we were introduced, and he learned that I was a minister. He said, "You're a minister? Cool. I have a question about something that we were studying about in Bible class this week." I immediately said, "YOU GO TO CHURCH?" The second I said it, I thought, "Oops, did I just say that out loud?" I didn't mean to say it or say it that loudly, it just came out. I guess I was thinking it, and it just came out of my mouth. I could tell by the look on his face that I'd hurt his feelings. I wasn't trying to, but I was just in shock. He'd just finished a s...
The F-word!!!
2007-09-04 23:41:00
When I was 13, my youngest brother was 2 years old. Back when VHS was still popular, we had the habit of renting lots and lots of movies. Every Friday was "family night". We popped popcorn in our brand new, fancy microwave. Ooooh, la la! Microwave pop corn! What a novel idea back then! I have no idea why, but my dad had rented a bunch of Richard Pryor movies. Apparently, he had no idea that there was so much swearing in R.P.'s movies! We grew up in a very strict household, where absolutely no swearing was tolerated! In one particular movie, Moving, we were all howling with laughter because despite the film's poor choice of vocabulary, it was a funny film. Well, every second word was F-this or F-that. F*** everywhere. We were laughing and my baby brother was giggling too. He went up to the huge aquarium we had and tapped on the glass and said, "F-you, fishies!!!" We were shocked and were silenced for a moment...and then we broke out in laughter. Mom was not impressed.Baby Bro then ...

The F Word - Fashion Faux Pau Series Part I
2007-05-07 18:00:00
With her Preity Zinta peaches and cream complexion that testifies to the softest and smoothest of skin texture this side of Marilyn Monroe, that dimpled smile & that glint in her eyes , preity zinta can well be considered one of the most beautiful women every on the silver screen , however that doesn't necessarily mean she has a great dressing sense , perhaps its that govinda influence in her early days , but preity does quite a few times have a very odd choice of clothing when off screen. Take the example of this at cannes , cannes is a place to get noticed , the world is looking at india , and all are aware of how beautiful indian women look in gorgeous sarees , however preity is hardly seen in sarees on screen as well , but a dress with plastic pearls , what is that supposed to look ? a galaxy ? This was truly an opportunity kill , this could well have been preity defining moment at international stardom & it was blown away to smithereens.

More about the ?F? word and what Ann says about her use of it
2007-03-10 06:05:03
So much for a final word - and again - in defense of Ann. On the March 6 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Sean Hannity featured Ann Coulter and Fox News contributor Pat Caddell to discuss Coulter’s March 2nd speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), in which she said she "can’t really talk about" Democratic presidential candidate and former Sen. John Edwards (NC) because "you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot.’ " Hannity said, "Most of the speech was about humor. You were telling jokes the whole time here," and went on to discuss Grey’s Anatomy actor Isaiah Washington, who recently sought counseling after using the slur. Coulter responded by saying, "[T]hat’s, of course, what I was referring to, and I don’t think there’s anything offensive about any variation of faggy, faggotry, faggot, fag. It’s a schoolyard taunt. It means — it means...
The P-word on the G-word and the F-word
2007-03-08 23:58:02
In the intro for his latest musing, Americans For Truth's Peter LaBarbera says: Ann Coulter has been roundly denounced for using the ?F-word? (six letters) ...I?m a Coulter fan, but she crossed the line on this one. There are larger issues at stake here for American freedom: today it?s the F-word, which has been banished as the sexual equivalent of the N-word. Tomorrow it could be certain applications of the G-word: G-A-Y. Many students use ?That?s so gay? to connote something that they think is stupid or weird: should they be forced to undergo sensitivity re-education ? or perhaps attend a ?Gay Pride? parade? Where will the PC ?hate speech? enforcement stop? Okay, we understand how hard it is to sometimes come up with a setup for an article. But Peter -- comparing the "F-word" with teenagers' usage of "gay" to mean "lame?" That's apples and mangoes, my friend! While it's annoying that the MySpace generation finds "gay" to be so much more of a time-saver than the uber-verb...
The f-word continues to cost Isaiah Washington?
2007-03-07 03:36:03
KATHERINE Heigl got into a dispute with ABC over her "Grey's Anatomy" salary last week - claiming she wanted to be paid as much as co-stars Sandra Oh and Isaiah Washington - but we hear things aren't going so well for Washington, either. "All the actors are in the midst of contract renegotiations," a source said. "But ABC is using Isaiah's recent troubles to keep from paying him more." Washington recently had to go into anger-management rehab after he'd called fellow co-star T.R. Knight a "f - - - - t." According to our insider, "Isaiah knows it is his fault that he may not get the fat raise he was going to get. ABC doesn't have to give him anything - he is under contract for seven years - and this is going to cost him millions. It's just a bitter pill he is going to have to swallow." A rep for Washington said, "We are going to do our business in private, not in the press." A rep for ABC didn&...
Ann Coulter Calls John Edwards The ?F-word?
2007-03-03 02:16:02
I’m glad to see that conservatives are disgusted by this stupid joke by Ann Coulter. Bryan Preston from Hot Air has the lowdown. Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gore’s green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards. Here’s what she said. “I’d say something about John Edwards, but if you say ‘faggot’ you have to go to rehab.” I’m no fan of John Edwards, but that’s just a stupid joke. It’s over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying. Last year it was “raghead.” This year it’s calling John Edwards a “faggot.” Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come. Thanks, Ann. Michelle Malkin joins in with her thoughts after Coulter’s “joke&#...

THe F word in home buying
2006-12-12 02:12:06
When my ex husband and I started looking for a house many moons ago, the word Forclosure meant that the house maybe had one wall and a broken toliet. It was a very scary word, but we looked at a few anyway. One was a townhouse that reeked of cat pee half way down the block and we stopped looking there. We were divorced shortly after that too which is also a good thing.Anyway, now that Hubby and I are starting to look at houses again, the work Forclosure isn't as scary. I am not sure if it is the way the economy is going, or if I just had a really bad expierence, but the word Forclosure is a good one now for me. We looked at one place that was a bank forclosure and it was in really decent condition. It needed new carpet, some tile in the bathroom, one shower head and a little paint on the walls. That was all it needed and it was a good price. Sadly, the numbers at the loan office didn't work out for us and our realtor forgot to tell us about some of the conditions with money down a...
