Haleigh Cummings ? The Family That Stays Together ? Does Time Together
2009-09-16 02:09:00 I am speechless, one would think that if your family is under the microscope, you might want to think twice before doing something stupid. Of course I could be wrong! It was about one hour ago that Hank Thomas Croslin found himself on the wrong side of the law. He is now cooling his heels in ...
Marriage and the Family Foundations: Part 2, Denmark & Spain.
2009-08-21 15:50:00 A continuation of yesterdays facebook conversation with a good Danish friend of mine. This is as long as some of the comments I made on my brothers status sometimes. I agree with you on most of ...

Visitor or Part of the Family?
2009-08-08 15:30:00 It was a little after 6am when I went to bed on Thursday morning. Just as I was dozing off, A came into our bedroom and asked me if I wanted to see our new visitor. I was like "What? At this hour?" but since he sounded so excited, I groggily woke up and what did I see?A white kitty was surveying and walking around the apartment with all right in the world. Meowing as she was smelling everything,

Quotes to Note 10: On Parenting and Prayer
2009-07-11 18:02:00 I’ve been reading through Paul Miller’s new book A Praying Life (NavPress). Its a great read that challenges me concerning my prayer life. He’s giving real life examples of how prayer shapes his parenting. I found this extended quote on the relationship between prayer and parenting very helpful. It is surprising how seldom books on parenting ...
Kindred the Family Soul at HOB
2009-07-10 19:14:00 Saw a lot of Garrard McClendon Live fans and saw a great show last night at the House of Blues. Kindred the Family Soul headlined the concert with such hits as "Stars," and "Far Away." Steppers, and those who appreciate strong rhythmic and harmonic R&B, love Kindred because the music and lyrics radiate throw back tendencies of Marvin Gaye, the Chicago Curtis Mayfield aura, and the fabulous Philadelphia sound. Hospitality was fantastic as usual. Kindred The HOB concierge took great care of my party, badging and escorting us up to the Foundation Room for pre-concert entertainment, refreshments, and fellowship. I was also pleased with my online ordering experience from HOB, Amex, and Live Nation. Kindred the Family Soul. Don't miss them...

Carry the Family DNA With You Wherever You Go: Great Idea?
2009-03-02 23:25:00 The Genealogy Storage Kit, which is known generically as US Patent# 6779665, provides a vehicle for the storage of biological samples. Why settle for an urn when there are so many other patterns and shapes to choose from and this way you can take it with you wherever you go? It?s better than a Hallmark card when it comes to proving that you ?care enough to lug around the very best.? Be prepared, and read on even if you don?t own any urns as of yet.

Smoked Salmon Snacks Are Great For the Family
2009-01-05 14:06:00 It can be difficult enough to put healthy meals on the table when you're working. But how are you supposed to make sure that your kids have healthy snacks as well. You don't want to send them to school each day with pre packaged junk food, even though that's the easiest route. You also want to make sure they don't see you snacking on junk after a long day of work. But you're pressed for time and money, so what can you give the family that isn't expensive or time consuming? How about healthy smoked salmon snacks? Why should you choose smoked salmon snacks for your family? It's a healthy way to give your kids balanced and nutritious snacks, of course. But first, let's talk about the taste. Because smoked salmon is so rich and flavorful, your kids will think that they're eating something special, and will want it all the more. It's also a great way to introduce finicky kids to the flavor of seafood. Once they're hooked on smoked salmon, you'll have an in to introducing many ...
A Wii Experience for the Family
2008-11-22 19:53:00 What a day I have just had. My legs are shivering, my arm muscles ache and the large decorative chicken that graced the mantle piece has forever been consigned to the bin, thank god!It all started when I formulated this cunning plan (partly to help me mate Gordo (Gordon Brown) and his Darling) to get the economy moving forward instead of backward and it involved buying a large present for my wife at great expense. When I arrived in Princes Street in Edinburgh it seemed that half the population of the UK had a similar cunning plan as the shops were jam-packed to overflowing with crazed shoppers. I know when the blinkers are on; the eyes are glazed over in a manic non-compromise glare, the elbows have been resharpened, the mouth is sealed lest the swear words boil out and nobody and nothing is going to get in the way of a bargain spotted! The supposed recession, depression, downturn or call it what you may that is supposedly with us was as far away from reality as I was about to don a ...

From the Church of Rome to the Family of God
2008-06-02 06:01:00 I was raised in the Roman Catholic church in an all catholic town in Northern Maine. My father was an alcoholic and my mother a devout catholic. I was also a devout catholic and was even taught catechism in the CCD program. I married my high school sweetheart in 1974 and moved to the Northern Virginia area. After six years of a failed marriage, knowing I could not get divorced (remember, this was the 70's and divorce was still frowned on by the catholic church), I decided that suicide was the only answer. I was "in love" with someone else who did not even know that I existed and life seemed too much to bear!My best friend from Maine came to visit Virginia during her vacation. She had become this "born again" Christian and I had warned her not to "preach to me." However, the Lord had quite different plans for me. During her visit, we discussed the "end times." I had a great interest in Nostradamus and the future. I was so afraid to go through the horrible times that these so-called p...

Self Storage Runs In The Family
2008-05-08 14:35:00 Have you ever realized that you will soon run out of closet space the next time your kids outgrow their clothes? Maybe you have already outgrown your closets and the kids have long since outgrown last summers clothes. Families who are lucky enough to have to children of the same gender can practice the hand-me-downs tradition. This tradition simply means that as one child grows out of his pants, you store them for the next son so he can wear them when he is that size. The hand-me-downs tradition saves a family hundreds, of dollars. However, it does require a lot of room for packing boxes away until children are ready to wear them again. If there are several years between one child and the next, that can mean a lot of boxes to store. One solution to this space problem is a storage unit rental . A storage unit rental can come in any size from a small closet, or half bathroom to rooms the size of a two-car garage or larger. Keeping your hand-me-downs sto...

I'd marry your cat just to get in the family.
2008-05-07 21:41:00 I'd marry your cat just to get in the family. --- The young clerk's responsibilities included bringing the judge a hot cup of coffee at the start of every day. Each morning the judge was enraged that the coffee cup arrived two-thirds full. The clerk explained that he had to rush to get the coffee delivered while it was still hot, which caused him to spill much of it along the way. None of the judge's yelling and insults produced a full cup of coffee, until he finally threatened to cut the clerk's pay by one-third if he continued to produce one-third less than the judge wanted. The next morning he was greeted with a cup of coffee that was full to the brim, and the next morning and the morning after that. The judge couldn't resist gloating over his success and smugly complimented the clerk on his new technique. Oh, there's not much to it, admitted the clerk happily, I take some coffee in my mouth right outside the coffee room, and spit it back in...

--=[Sly & The Family Stone]=--
2008-04-19 15:46:00 Sly & the Family Stone-There's a Riot Goin' On [1971]Sly Link 2The hazy hints of dystopia from Sly and the Family Stone's fabulously successful 1969 hit album Stand! turned full-force on its follow-up, There's a Riot Goin' On. By 1971, Sly had his Hollywood mansion and legions of droppers-by laying down parts of Riot, many of them later overdubbed by Sly himself. The resulting album is entrancing, backed often by an austere, early drum machine and featuring dope-glazed vocals, paranoid shadows and, of course, a stewing funk groove. Horns are here, thinned out so they jab harder, and the keyboards gleam and shimmer and icily coat the beats, which sound in today's parlance simply lo-fi. And the beats, they've slowed menacingly, with voices dropping in, dropping out. Drugs were flowing freely by this point, complicating Sly's sound, inadvertently making an album that indelibly matches its maker's psyche-in-time. "Runnin' Away" and "Family Affair" still sound great even in...
