2008-02-13 13:18:00 The Iceman Cometh and now you basement may be leaking. Between last week’s record rainfall and today’s snow and ice storm many area homeowners are experiencing wet basements. In many cases this is the first time some of my clients have ever had water dripping into their lower levels. For many of you the problem really began during last summer’s severe drought when dried soil pulled away from your foundations. You may have missed a small trickle of water during the fall- but last week’s rain deluge surprised a lot of homeowners.  In a lot of cases the weather has just exposed some latent foundation problems - issues that would have appeared sooner or later. Do not assume the problem will take care of itself. If your gutters are are not clogged and running over or some other unique situation is causing the problem ( neighbor’s sump is dumping water into your basement) make an appointment with a qualified foundation specialist as soon as possible. ...

Just pure racing and some misfortune for Lewis Hamilton saw the Iceman - Kimi Raikkonen win his maiden World Championship. Some really level-headed racing by Felipe Massa and Kimi ensured that no one else overtook them and got Kimi the championship by just 1 point!.Picture courtesy ABC Corp.Its so fun/satisfying/interesting/awes-ome/cool/beautiful/gratifying to see that people do not like a taste of their own medicine when stuffed down their throat and get all hot under the collar and lose their cool. Nice one!! (Don't know why this keeps coming in small letters - unable to change, hence leaving as is!).

2007-05-31 23:23:00 It might not be quite as exciting as when first announced, but the Superfight between Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva looks as if it is going to happen after all. It was first announced at UFC 61 in July 2006, that the two fighters who were at the time at the top of their respective promotions, would fight if Liddell could get past Renato Sobral at UFC 62. Liddell did, but negotiations between the UFC and PRIDE broke down, Wanderlei got knocked out by both Cro Cop and Dan Henderson, Liddell got rampaged by Quinton Jackson, and before you know it, here we are. Two fighters who were at the top of the pile less than a year ago are now struggling to regain their respective reputations. Such is the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
