Special Feature:The Journey Of Shaadi.com So Far
2011-10-24 10:47:00 Over the past few years, the online services industry has grown rapidly in India. We notice numerous e-commerce sites booming across India today and making good money. But more than a decade ago there was nothing except for a very few enterprising people and companies who have managed to not only stay afloat but have expanded and prospered admirably. One such company is Shaadi.com, which has been around since 1996. And in an achievement which can be considered as remarkable, they celebrated their 15 year anniversary last week. Anupam Mittal, CEO and Founder, Shaadi.com commented, “In these 15 years constant innovation and customer satisfaction has been the centerpiece of our strategy and as we grow, we will continue to strive to provide professional matchmaking service. We look forward to serving our members and providing them with effective matchmaking solutions through Shaadi.com”. Shaadi.com was started by Anupam Mittal in 1996 because he saw a good potential for NRI&rs...

The journey of grief
2011-01-18 22:27:00 When my father-in-law, Frank, was in the hospital in October before he died, I had gone to the gift shop one day before visiting. I spotted a stuffed bull that I thought was cute and it reminded me of not only of his personality but also the enemy he was fighting. Clever, I thought. I ...

2010-06-23 12:45:00 Last few months has seen a flurry of announcements by big telecom service providers opening dedicated application stores for their subscribers. WATBlog had recently covered the opening of the first mobile app store, Airtel App Central in India. This was immediately followed by a series of similar announcements by Reliance Communications and Vodafone. As Airtel App Central recently completes 4 months, lets have a look at a few numbers describing its journey so far. According to figure released by the company the store offers 71000 apps, a big jump from the initial 1250 it started out with. It initially offered compatibility with 550 phone models but has now expanded to 780 devices. The store has witnessed 13 million downloads in total at the rate of 1.2 downloads/ second over the 4 months. The lowest cost of an application is Rs.5 and more than over 32% of downloads are paid for. On tracking the purchase of apps in the first month of its operation some interesting data emerged. Childhood, adult, middle age: the journey from cute to comatose
2010-02-03 22:27:00 Amber, Jackie, and I have been friends since high school. (I’m using different names and identifying characteristics, so that jail time may be avoided.) Over the years, our conversations have changed along with our hairstyles and threshold for pain. This has never been more apparent than in the last few weeks. We used to talk about ...
It?s all about the JOURNEY to black belt, right?

The Journey
2008-11-10 12:02:00 This is a repost of an old blog entry..._____I wrote this poem a few months back. It's title is 'The Journey'.Become comfortablein not knowingand continue seeking...you are darkso is your path; But the light at the end of your tunnelis youit is marked; At the endthe giant mirror unfoldsand you meet yourself;Ego waxesego wanesnothing's lostnothing's gainedand in the endnothing remains; You arejust a dreamera void in the grip of a lieobsessed with a conceptual 'I';You arehollow without a corefilled with darkness and gore;Butyour true nature shines brighter than goldso lighten up, let the light inlearn to swimand you will meet yourself at the distant shore...© 2006 Vikram Madan. Before I start the explanation, I request the reader to ASSUME, for the sake of this discussion, that re-incarnation is real. That eternal life is real. Assuming this is VERY important. If the reader is not convinced about the usefulness of building an argument based on assumptions, he is advised to rea...

8/11/08 - It's The Journey - Really!
2008-08-11 22:54:00 Olympics coverage is focused on results and medal counts but it should focus a lot more on the stories behind athletes such as Melanie Roach, who, at 33 years of age, took 6th place in the women's 58 kg division.
It's All About the Journey
2008-06-02 11:30:00 Alright, kids. Here's your choice. We can go to see the log cabin where Abe Lincoln was born .....or....Yeah??....(There was feigned enthusiasm somewhere deep within. I could feel it. What they really were thinking was. Dad, I'm not so sure I want to hear what choice number two is because quite honestly, choice number one SUCKS!!)Or we could go to Dinosaur World.Ooh!! Yea!! Dinosaur World. Dinosaur World. Dinosaur World!! Dinoworl! (Zella and Zander chimed in--they had no idea what Dinosaur World was. They were just following the crowd. Typical!)The kids could not have had more fun. Dinosaur World is your typical tourist trap oasis tucked into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains somewhere along interstate 65 in nowhere Kentucky. The kids were able to follow a winding path through the woods where life sized replicas of dinosaurs greeted them around every bend. They paused at each one sc...

[00493] Pink Floyd - The Man and The Journey

The journey
2008-05-17 23:20:00 The Journey When you bring a pet into your life, you begin a journey. A journey that will bring you more love and devotion than you have ever known, yet will also test your strength and courage. If you allow, the journey will teach you many things, about life, about yourself, and most of all, about love. You will come away changed forever, for one soul cannot touch another without leaving its mark. Along the way, you will learn much about savoring life's simple pleasures -- jumping in leaves, snoozing in the sun, the joys of puddles, and even the satisfaction of a good scratch behind the ears. If you spend much time outside, you will be taught how to truly experience every element, for no rock, leaf, or log will go unexamined, no rustling bush will be overlooked, and even the very air will be inhaled, pondered, and noted as being full of valuable information. Your pace may be slower, except when heading home to the food dish, but you will become a better nat...

Three key things to look for when prescreening seller leads

Easter, Athens on a Budget & Letting the Journey Begin
2008-05-05 21:35:00 I’m sat in the Smudge Family Wagon as I type this with my chauffer husband guiding us through some beautiful Dorset countryside, or is that the new man in my life ‘Tom Tom’, the very useful navigation system Scott’s colleagues bought him as a goodbye present (thank you indeed as now I can freely write whilst travelling instead of struggling with a map). Our last stop in the UK has been and gone, we’re full of a good ole English brunch courtesy of my brother and lemon tart, courtesy of my sister-in-law and we are on route to our hotel before we get on the Eurotunnel at 5.40am tomorrow. Let the journey begin! This past week has been manic beyond belief; from running around for computer leads, plastic dinner sets, organising last minute paperwork all interspersed with last-minute family visits, we are finally beginning our travelling dream that to this point feels like it has been forever in the making. The only sense of security we have is each other and the home we have t...

3 best ways to attract motivated sellers

The journey begins
2008-04-22 22:19:00 Wicked faces pass my way. I stop & stare, but I'm just another tag in their "normal" world.Yesterday I signed up for Driver's License School, a journey that will be for 4 - 8 weeks. I decided to get a driver's license, 'cause the company where I currently work will offer me a work-car, the well known Daewoo Matiz. Last week I got a work-cellphone too, things go pretty good :P I guess when the boss is asking you if you like where you work every week your in the good place :DNot to mention free lunch everyday. (Downpart: gain weight, damn!)Oh and I need inspiration. I feel so out of flow lately ... like I lost my Mojo ... or maybe what I need is a good bang =))When the sun goes down, our kiss will f*ck their smile.

THE JOURNEY, Ha!
2008-03-27 15:56:00 Yesterday I wrote a lovely post to serve as an introduction on the importance of the journey over the destination. That life is about PROCESS over product. I mentioned how living in the present isn’t easy in this culture. I felt quite in gear and, okay, a bit smug. Then, I worked on webpage construction for about a minute and a half. Just that fast, I obliterated the blog completely. And the partial website. I ceased to exist, cyberwise. And, I–the wise psychologist who’d spoken of the importance of process, enjoying what you do while you’re doing it, was so much more important than the product– Lost it. Became an anxiety . The Blob Shrink will return.

The Journey
2008-03-11 09:28:00 THE JOURNEY the EXISTENCE of the DESIRE is what CAUSES the journey to take place. It is the JOURNEY that is life. it is NOT the destination that is life. The destination is ONLY the reason for the journey. The journey IS what life IS. [yes], the destination is necessary for the journey to take place so it is not irrelevant. But if the destination looms so as to make the NOW seem inferior, there is something wrong in the balance of things, you see the objective you have in YOUR mind should ALWAYS be calling YOU FORWARD and giving YOU a reason for having a joyful moment. when YOU stop seeing YOUR objectives through YOUR eyes ONLY, things tend to get complicated and you tend to lose your way. that’s why the LITTLE ONES have so much to teach you. They don’t recognize falure, they fall down over and over, but they DON’T judge themselves as inappropriate. the path of least resistance is what feels good right NOW make a game of it San Diego, 2004 (more…)

The Journey of the Spiritual Heart
2007-12-28 17:58:00 The word "journey" is probably one of the most overused words that I have heard used (and have personally used ad nauseum) in religious circles. It is something that we often wear as a badge of honor.. don't you dare criticize my journey. With 2008 knocking on our doors I was thinking about this idea of journey and thought of these verses out of Proverbs: "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel." (12:15)"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." (14:12)"All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the LORD weighs the motives." (16:2)"Every man's way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts." (21:2)There is a word that is used in each of these verses.. it is the word "way" and is translated from this Hebrew word:derek (deh'-rek): From darak; way, road, distance, journey, manner, road, way, path, journey, direction, manner, habit, way, of course of life (fig.), of moral char...

The Journey of Conservatism
2007-12-21 12:33:00 by Nathan McIntyre"Conservative" /k?n?s?rv?t?v/?adjective1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.2. cautiously moderate or purposefully low: a conservative estimate. There was a time, not too long ago, that I would have considered myself a Conservative. My family, while certainly not Republicans all the way back did always seem to tout conservatism, and practical conservative ideals in their everyday lives. It was simple. Spend less than you make. Be careful with your actions. Have a healthy dose of skepticism everyday.I was reminded of this as I changed at my gym yesterday. Two gentlemen, both obviously in a bit of a hurry bantered back and forth about the state of American politics over the mindless droning of Fox News on the wall-mounted television. An interview with Hillary had come and gone, and both fellows lamented the fact that while she, in their opinions, is certainly a Socialist there is no rea...
Reiki Experiences - The Journey Continues
2007-12-20 16:28:00 Original post submitted Thu, 12/06/2007 - 21:58.I sent Reiki last night to a friend who has been going through a hard time. After the experience with my mom, who didn't feel a second of the intense Reiki I sent her (though she felt it all the first time), I was feeling a little nervous, hoping that my ability is the "real deal." I really wanted to help my friend, who is a very kind person who has been having a tough emotional time.I waited all day to hear back from her, after sending her Reiki last night. Around dinner time, I left her a voice mail asking her to read her email and please call or email me feedback on her experience. I had emailed her my end of things last night. This was her first experience with Reiki, and it was distance Reiki at that, so she could've felt anything or nothing at all, and I was bound to take anything as a reflection on my ability, whether that's logical or not. (She didn't know that last part- and didn't know about my mom). I did tell her that ...
