2008-04-18 03:56:00 The Kooks: KonkBritish pop band the Kooks release their sophomore effort, two years after their very well received debut Inside In/Inside Out.The Kooks sound is not original. It's clearly defined pop but lies in between the British Invasion and South Californian pop. It's like the Fratellis mixed with Rooney.Although, I do enjoy both bands I compared the Kooks too, something about this album is lacking. The songs are obviously catchy but they lack that certain pop. The fully electric songs are fine enough, but the partially acoustic songs just fall completely flat in my opinion.The album is good enough but there is no way it will live up to fans expectations following their debut success. Konk isn't a full fledged sophomore slump but its no grand slam either.Rating: 5.3/10MP3: The Kooks "Do You Wanna"
