Originally known as Management, the band MGMT will perform at the Live 105 BFDSan Francisco rock radio station Live 105 kicks off its annual all-day music festival next week, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mt. View, California.This is one of the best day-long music festivals in the United States considering the ticket price - a mere $10 - and the range of popular indie artists playing at the 10-hour festival. Talk about bang for the buck!Tickets are on sale now. IRC does not endorse any ticketing outlets, but you can click BFD ticketing (links to Google results) to find tickets.If it is like it was last year, you can also take a chance and show up to get free tickets. The Kooks: KonkBritish pop band the Kooks release their sophomore effort, two years after their very well received debut Inside In/Inside Out.The Kooks sound is not original. It's clearly defined pop but lies in between the British Invasion and South Californian pop. It's like the Fratellis mixed with Rooney.Although, I do enjoy both bands I compared the Kooks too, something about this album is lacking. The songs are obviously catchy but they lack that certain pop. The fully electric songs are fine enough, but the partially acoustic songs just fall completely flat in my opinion.The album is good enough but there is no way it will live up to fans expectations following their debut success. Konk isn't a full fledged sophomore slump but its no grand slam either.Rating: 5.3/10MP3: The Kooks "Do You Wanna"
