Painting The Last Supper
2008-03-17 20:14:00
The story of the painting of The Last Supper is extremely interesting and instructive, and two incidents connected with it afford a most convincing lesson on the effects of right thinking or wrong thinking in the life of a boy or girl, or of a man or woman. Leonardo Da Vinci the noted Italian artist as we all know, thanks to Dan Brown, painted the Last Supper. It took seven years for him to complete it. The figures representing the twelve Apostles and Christ himself were painted from living persons. The life-model for the painting of the figure of Jesus was chosen first. When it was decided that Da Vinci would paint this great picture, hundreds and hundreds of young men were carefully viewed in an endeavor to find a face and personality exhibiting innocence and beauty, free from the scars and signs of dissipation caused by sin. Finally, after weeks of laborious search, a young man nineteen years of age was selected as a model for the portrayal of Christ. For six months Da Vinci work...

Inch Loss Island - The Last Supper
2008-01-20 22:05:00
Hi, quick one as I'm in a rush... Inch Loss has begun! We left London this morning at 7 in a bus with our three inch loss recruit girls:Our two Karens and Gail; Karen Benford on the left, Gail Maycroft and Karen Parker on the right. It's weird being back here as it's been five years since my last Inch Loss. One of my greatest TV moments was a live fire walk that our recruits did. You can see this on my show-reel, it was a whole load of fun! I am in the most beautiful room looking over the sea as our Inch Loss recruits are having their last supper - so to speak - as it's their last opportunity to  eat whatever they want before the Inch Loss Regime starts tomorrow.Any way I better go as I've got a meeting with my fellow experts, Mark Anthony, personal trainer to the stars, Amanda Hamilton the gorgeous nutritionist from bonny Scotland and the TV legend that is Doctor Hilary Jones.Take care and watch this space.

Why The Digitized "The Last Supper" by Van Gogh Advertising is Sacrilege
2007-10-30 03:29:00
First take a look at the post below and at the digitized painting site (blow up the mysterious knife holding hand indicated above). http://www.haltadefinizione.com-/en/ Then consider this:1. Only 300,000 people can view the painting in Milan to protect it from further decay.2. On the internet millions can now view the painting in much greater detail than in person while soothing music plays. It's a true multimedia experience. And...a brand new way to view art.3. The internet version of "The Last Supper" is interactive...it's fun to enlarge specific areas of the painting (such Christ's head) or pan from side to side.4. The success of this should result in more large scale digitized paintings on the net ("The Mona Lisa", Monet's various "Water Lilies," Seurat's grand canvas "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" and so on....).5. So how do you use this in advertising?6. Well..not the way it's currently done in the remarkably unholy "The Last Supper"7. Google AdWords...

Rosalind Miles, Who Cooked the Last Supper: The Women's History of the World????????:?????Three Rivers Press | ISBN 0609806955 | 2001 | PDF | 5 MB | 355 PagesMen dominate history because men write history. There have been many heroes, but no heroines. Here is the history you never learned ? but should have! For every woman who has ever wondered what the women were doing while generals fought battles and kings beheaded their enemies (and for every man who hasn't), this book is for you. Originally published as The Women's History of the World, this reissue comes complete with Rosalind Miles's wry wit and disarming puns on everything from the phallus to bride sales, a very necessary comic relief to the recounting of centuries of abuse and oppression. Miles's engaging story starts with the f...

The Last Supper Painting
2007-10-28 10:43:00
A 16 billion pixel image of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper has been posted on the internet, giving art lovers a detailed view of the 15th Century work. The image is 1,600 times more detailed than those taken with a typical 10 million pixel digital camera. Experts will be able to see segments as though just centimetres away and examine otherwise unavailable details. The posting comes amid claims a new system aimed at protecting the piece from Milan’s pollution is not working. The original work is displayed in the Italian city’s Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Art curator Alberto Artioli told Associated Press news agency the new resolution avoided the graininess when zooming in to regular photographs. You can see this work of art in all its 16bn pixel glory at www.haltadefinizione.com “You can see how Leonardo made the cups transparent, something you can’t ordinarily see,” he said. “You can also note the state of degradation the painting ...

The poster by organizers of the Folsom Street Fair, sponsored in part by Miller Brewing, replaces ...

2007-07-31 19:48:00
The news spread quickly about the Italian computer analyst Slavisa Pesci who discovered new images on Leonardo da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper”. Soon the web was filled with requests of people to see the end result of Pesci’s research, the treated image showing its secret. Thomas Th Hrlimann from www.ecliptic.ch illustrations and graphic design wanted to see it for himself and developed a procedure to repeat this discovery, just on the computer. Now the interesting thing is that everybody can repeat this procedure, it just needs an image of the painting - usually found easily on the web - and an image manipulation program like Gimp. (more…)
iPhone fast Typing, spellchecking from Apple and "The Last supper of Jobs"
2007-07-05 16:32:00
New post we will begin with a small portion of video - as known, opinions about method of input of text, realised in Apple iPhone (the virtual keyboard on the touch screen) were divided: someone from the very beginning remained quite happy with this decision, someone complains about absence of tactile return, and some are assured that to adapt to virtual buttons on the screen - is time only. The typical proof of the last spoken - found out on YouTube video with demonstration of rather fast press: it is less than for thirty seconds in a videocamera SMS message with an impudent and not politically correct phrase "People who cannot type fast on this phone are retarded" is entered - "on iPhone only mentally retarded people Slowly print". A little arithmetics: ten words and forty four signs (53 with blanks) are typed within only fifteen seconds - it turns out on the average three and a half a sign in a second. For comparison, professional speed of typing makes 350-...

This turns out to be true whether you’re the host or merely an observer, as I learned a few years back while attempting to visit Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper. Arriving at Milan’s Santa Maria delle Grazie church in the middle of the afternoon, I discovered that there were no more appointments available until late the next day. Since this was my last day in Milan, I trudged off to my own last supper without seeing Leonardo’s.Rate and Review : The Last Supper, at Last: Cracking the DaVinci Code in Milan
