2007-10-08 16:08:00 I spent all weekend formatting and reinstalling my computer so I have a nice clean system to begin the huge complicated task of editing my first feature documentary ‘Racing Heart’. I took great pains to ensure the cleanest install of XP I’ve ever done. I defragged the hard drive after every program I installed. I also very carefully optimized the settings after each install. It is all done and it IS the best and cleanest install ever. The puter is running much faster but there is just one hitch. My computer is a little antiquated. I installed Adobe’s editing software, Premiere 1.5, because my processor doesn’t support the SSE2 instruction set, which all of the new chips do. Premiere Pro 2 and 3 need that instruction set or they won’t even install. My camera is a newer camera (Canon XHA1) and isn’t supported by the old editing programs.
