The Legends of Wrestling: "Classy" Freddie Blassie
2008-03-04 07:21:00
The Legends of Wrestling: "Classy" Freddie Blassie Book Description "Classy" Freddie Blassie is universally acknowledged as one of the most hated heels in wrestling history. The Boy From Bootle
2008-02-24 18:55:00
In the absence of any real news, here is a small piece on Alvin Martin taken from the latest issue of Hammers News...Born in Bootle, on Merseyside, in July 1958, Alvin Martin signed for West Ham after only being offered a part-time apprenticeship with his local club Everton. The 15 year-old defender took the brave decision to move to London when he was offered terms by West Ham. The decision paid almost immediate dividends, as Alvin was a part of the side which reached the final of the FA Youth Cup in 1975. His sterling performances led to him being offered a professional deal the following year. Despite showing great promise in his early appearances, Martin could do little but look on as the team were relegated to the Second Division in 1978.However, in many ways, this unfortunate situation would be the making of young Alvin. He soon became a regular in the side the following season, where he would benefit greatly from the experience and guidance of his usual central defensive part...

2008-02-23 10:20:00
Fifteen years ago, on 24 February 1993, football fans in England and across the world united to mourn the tragic death of Bobby Moore at the age of just 51. Instinctively, thousands of them made their way to the Boleyn Ground to pay their respects and leave claret and blue tributes ranging from shirts and scarves to flags and flowers. It was not just West Ham United fans either. Rightly regarded as one of the all-time greats, Moore stood for everything that was right about the game and his passing compelled supporters of other clubs to offer condolences. In his remarkable career, the legendary Barking-born defender served West Ham United to distinction between 1958 and 1974 before a three-year stint with Fulham. Moore helped the east London club to FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup glory as well as winning 108 England caps and lifting the World Cup trophy in the 1966 final at Wembley. That led to Royal recognition with his OBE in 1967. His achievements will never be forgotten. In...

Capo Di Tutti Capi

Paolo Di Canio has revealed that his dream job is to be manager of West Ham one day. The flamboyant Italian, who spent four tempestuous years with the Hammers between 1999 and 2003 is set to hang up his boots at the end of this season, but intends to go straight into management - with the Hammers very much in his sights."I'm a little too old to carry on playing so I will take up managing next year. I hope to have the same success as a coach that I did as a player," he told the Daily Mail. "My dream would be to manage in the Premier League because English football is the best in the world and my dream in particular would be to manage at West Ham - that would be perfect. I spent four seasons there and I would love to go back and win something with them. The fans are fantastic there and the atmosphere at Upton Park was always so special. Every weekend I watch all the English games on TV but I always look out for the West Ham score, I have a special place for them in my heart. When I w...

The Legends of Mistletoe

Wedding at the Legends
2007-12-07 19:01:00
Went to wedding dinner of Pei Xin and Weiling on Monday. Pai sei I didn't blog about it until now as I was too busy to edit the photos. But I have time to do some self admiring! LOLX ... these were taken before going for the event. Got a fright that morning cos my eyes sort of kenna swollen (again~! urgh~!) luckily it went down in late afternoon and I was able to cover the tracks with make-up (oh! the wonders of make-up)Grand sia~ Though we were like quite tired from climbing up the hills to the Legends. It being far away from where our eye sight could reach. We had to refer to maps to get there. Blame it on the weather, we were sweating like don't-know-what when we reach the ballroom.Tastefully decorated and arranged table:With long lost Sports-Queen-Huixin who grows slimmer day by day to my *green eyed* envy. Ok it was ME who ordered her not to stand up as I will look dwarfed by her. ;PDidn't take photos of the deco inside as the ballroom was decorated in blue techno lights some...

The Greatest Ever
2007-09-16 19:01:00
Bobby Moore has been voted England's best ever footballer in a three month-long nationwide survey conducted this summer by leading five-a-side organiser Pitch Invasion. Votes were received from football fans across the country, and the 1966 World Cup winning captain was joined in the top three by team mates Gordon Banks and Bobby Charlton, who were voted second and third respectively. Of the current England players, only former captain David Beckham who finished seventh in the poll and present captain John Terry who finished ninth, made the top ten. Craig Davies, Pitch Invasion General Manager, said: "According to our survey, the ultimate England five-a-side team would be Banks in goal, Moore in defence, Bobby Charlton and Paul Gascoigne in midfield, and Gary Lineker up front providing the goals. "Even though it was a long time ago, the achievements of the 1966 World Cup team are held in very high regard, with Moore, Banks and Charlton as its iconic players. Gary Lineker scored 10 ...
The Legends Of Country Music - Part 3
2007-03-12 20:33:00
This is Part 3 of “The Legends of Country Music” which features Conway Twitty and Don Williams. If your are a married man and your wedding anniversary is around the corner, I would recommend you to dedicate the song “You’re My Best Friend” by Don to your lovely wife. I hope the day will come when I can also do the same.
The Legends Of Country Music - Part 2
2007-03-08 17:30:00
This is Part 2 of “The Legends of Country Music”, which features Waylon Jennings’ live performance with some good back-up musicians. The second part features Billie Jo Spears’ live performance of her hit song, “Blanket On The Ground”. She is one of my favourite female country artists, and I will write more about her in the future. Probably, I might make her one of the album of the week. So watch out for that.
The Legends Of Country Music - Part 1

I am going to play in parts of this video “The Legends of Country Music”, which features some of the top country music legends such as George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Charley Pride and more. Part 1, will feature George Jones and Willie Nelson live performance. If you love the old country, this is a collectable item, so if you don’t have it, you better get one before it no longer exists. Willie's guitar plucking is so good.
