The New Republic: MSNBC In The Tank For Obama
2008-05-27 20:41:00
It looks like even the far-left is finally starting to realize that MSNBC is voting for Obama this year. Now left-wing rag The New Republic is voicing concern over the constant pro-Obama, anti-Hillary coverage emanating from that ridiculous channel. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thehotjoints.-com%2F2008%2F05%2F27%2Fthe-new--republic-msnbc-in-the-tank-for--obama%2F'; addthis_title = 'The+New+Republic%3A+MSNBC+In+T-he+Tank+For+Obama'; addthis_pub ...
A #5 At The New Republic In Defending Obama
2008-03-27 14:28:00
In the 8 Stages of Liberal/Progressive Discussion When Busted, The New Republic goes #5 (Concoct strange defenses based on wild psychological discourse, which no one understands, including the writer, but it sounds good, and allows a liberal/progressive to say there is no problem.) Standing By His Man by Martin Peretz Why Obama was right in not repudiating ...

2008-01-21 20:20:00
From Confederate Yankee: Documents released by the Office of the Chief of Staff, U.S. Central Command at MacDill Air Force Base Florida, in relation to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests files for documents relating to the military investigation into the Scott Thomas Beauchamp “Shock Troops” article in The New Republic magazine. The following are the ...
Press Releases › Ron Paul Statement on The New Republic Article Regarding
2008-01-09 20:59:00
(From Hot Air) Here’s Kirchick’s interview with Tucker Carlson, who has been supporting Paul and traveling with him. Note Carlson’s reluctance to believe that this garbage came from Paul even though it was printed by Paul under his name. Tucker will probably come around in a day or two, but will most of Paul’s supporters? Not ...
Ron Paul Exposed by The New Republic
2008-01-08 23:36:00
An unfortunate consequence of the Ron Paul campaign has been to form a strange alliance between more conservative libertarians and extremist groups including neo-Nazis and white supremacists. I’ve quoted from the racist writings in Ron Paul’s newsletter in the past, as well as noted his other connections to extremist groups. James Kirchick has accumulated ...

2007-12-06 13:30:00
The New Republic’s Fact Checking Process Every now and then you read something that blows you away. Iowahawk has done it again with his version of Franklin Foer’s long winded explanation of how The New Republic published a series of articles that slandered our troops with fabricated lies about their actions on the battlefield. Never once did ...

New Republic Finally Admits Baghdad Diariest Is A Lier
2007-12-04 16:43:00
After many months of denial and stonewalling The New Republic has finally admitted that Scott Thomas Beauchamp is a lier. The so called “Baghdad Diarist” spun terrific tales of cruelty by U.S. troops in Iraq, which he has sense admitted to the Army were false. “We cannot be confident that the events in his pieces occurred ...
The New Republic is Full of Crap, Falls Short on Defensive Mea Culpa Over F
2007-12-03 15:59:00
The New Republic finally published a half-hearted apology and pseudo-explanation of their culpability surrounding the fake troop slandering “Baghdad Diarist” series that they published over the summer. Editor Franklin Foer’s explanation of how they were willingly duped is by itself a gutless defense of the failure by the editors at The New Republic to even ...

Brian Hecht, "Electronic Newsstand" CEO: Mr. Media Interview Classic
2007-11-05 04:11:00
Originally published April 7, 1997He's 26 years old. But a quick read of his bio makes it seem as though Brian Hecht worked three jobs simultaneously to get where he is today."Either that or it looks like I can't hold a job," he jokes.Hecht wears two heavy, staple-studded crowns these days, as president and CEO of The Electronic Newsstand as well as online editor of The New Republic magazine."One of the cool things about working in new media is that someone like me gets a chance to try their hand at things that I would never get a chance to do in traditional media," he says. "Two years ago, I was getting coffee for Barbara Walters at ABC News."And how does she like her coffee, anyway?"I think I'm contractually prohibited from sharing that," Hecht says.Hecht -- whose resume also includes participation in the launches of ABC's "Turning Point" news magazine and the Generation X print magazine, Swing -- is a wonderful example of a phenomenon Mr. Media recently discussed with an ele...

Help Force The New Republic To Print The Truth
2007-10-31 12:34:00
I have been happy to support the efforts of Bob Owens at Confederate Yankee to expose the fraudulent stories of Scott Thomas Beauchamp since the first items from his fiction piece, “Shock Troops”, were published by The New Republic. Since TNR refuses to retract the story and stands by the made-up lies about our troops from ...
L.A. Times Carrying Water for Scott Beauchamp The Lier
2007-10-30 00:28:00
For some reason the media just can’t stop carrying water for The New Republic over Scott Beauchamp the lier. The left wing media continues to rally around TNR desperately clinging to the hope that Beauchamp’s lies will somehow become true. The latest TNR apologist and Scott Beauchamp cheerleader is Tim Rutten who wrote a ridiculous piece ...
The New Republic STILL refuses to retract Beauchamp Lies
2007-10-26 22:23:00
The New Republic is nothing but a joke. They literally have no credibility left to damage. Even in light of the documents we posted this week from Drudge proving Scott Beauchamp is a f*cking liar, TNR still refuses to admit the stories are bullshit. It’s hard to believe this is really happening! Scott Beauchamp’s wife Ellie ...
New Republic?s Phony ?Baghdad Diarist? Documents
2007-10-26 01:48:00
Yesterday, Drudge posted documents proving that The New Republic’s “Baghdad Diarist” is a liar, and a “phony soldier.” We posted links to each of the documents, but for some reason the links went bad. Here is a repost of Scott Beauchamp documents: Document #1 Document #2 Document #3 -The Hot Joints Staff  Share This
Fascinating Stuff Involving The New Republic
2007-10-24 22:48:00
Note: Updates at end of this post ORIGINAL POST: I?ve mentioned briefly over the past few months the Scott Beauchamp affair over at The New Republic, although the really strong coverage has come from the Confederate Yankee. The story has suddenly broken at the national level, though, because Drudge is on it, making available transcripts that ...

New Republic?s ?Baghdad Diarist? Confirmed a Fraud
2007-10-24 21:30:00
Looks like Matt Drudge has delivered the goods once again! It should be fun watching The New Republic try and deny this one. At this point TNR has about as much credibility as Dan Rather which is pretty much none. This would be an appropriate time for Rush Limbaugh to use that “phony soldier” line again. -Chris ...
How The New Republic Got Suckered
2007-08-20 20:22:00
Just as the world was beginning to wonder if The New Republic had been tricked by a fabricator for the third time in the past decade, the magazine?s staff went to a party. It was a going-away party for a longtime New Republic senior editor Ryan Lizza, but the staff seemed more interested in discussing the ...
Scott Thomas Beauchamp & the Decline of the New Republic
2007-08-06 23:36:00
When conservatives today talk about Andrew Sullivan, they rank him among those bitter Bush-hating bloggers who, in practically knee-jerk fashion, angrily oppose anything the president (or for that matter, his Administration and even his sometime supporters) says or does. But, there was a time when Andrew offered one of the most unique perspectives on ...
More Problems for The New Republic
2007-08-05 15:22:00
When The New Republic issued their latest statement on the Scott Beauchamp story, they apparently forgot to mention that the PAO of the base where Beauchamp’s “burned woman” story was situated told them the story could not be verified, and was “considered to be a urban legend or myth.” Now why, in a statement that was supposed to disclose the results of their “fact-checking,” would they fail to relate that important bit of information? Bob Owens has details: Confederate Yankee: TNR: Not Quite All the News that’s Fit to Print. Original post by http://littlegreenfootballs.com-/weblog/?entry=26553&only&a-mp;rss
On the New Republic Shock Troops article
2007-08-02 21:05:00
The effort to debunk the New Republic's Shock Troops article by a Scott Thomas is well underway by some knowledgeable people and I'm sure they'll do a thorough job. Some Asymmetric thoughts: 1. It's generally cowardly and an indication of low character to witness an abuse and not say anything at the moment where one can actually prevent harm. It's really quite astonishing that PVT Thomas would choose to store the abuse in the compartment of his brain dedicated to future New Republic articles instead: "Cool, he ran over that dog. People'll love that in the next issue." instead of: "Listen, if you don't stop this atrocious behavior, I'm reporting you to the chain of command." PVT Thomas is accessory to the crime. 2. It's not as bad to play back private conversations in print, but it's still not an honorable thing. He should at least have let people know that the only reason he was speaking to them was to mine barbs for New Republic articles. 3. It seems obvious that...
When the ?Press? Becomes the Star ? The New Republic Fawns Over David Grego
2007-06-16 00:00:00
-By Warner Todd Huston I was wondering when the New Republic Magazine began to delve into comedy? When the ?Press? Becomes the Star ? The New Republic Fawns Over David Grego
2007-06-15 13:59:00
I was wondering when the New Republic Magazine began to delve into comedy? I guess it’s all the rage with the comedic stylings of Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and John Kerry, but I had always thought the New Republic fashioned itself a magazine of “serious” political commentary. After reading a fawning, nay slobberingly sycophantic, assessment ...

Me sorprende el nivel de calidad que están empezando a alcanzar algunas obras de fan-art (dado que niegan toda relación con los estudios Lucasfilm en su web, supongo que será un obra de fans de la serie. The New Republic: Proven Liars
0000-00-00 00:00:00
Well, now... no WONDER Foer was keeping so silent. Michelle says it very well indeed: I repeat Ace’s distillation for those who have only superficial knowledge of this scandal: Remember: TNR Hid The Existence Of This Phone Call From The World. To paraphrase the Clintons: It’s the cover-up, stupid. And TNR’s sliming of ...

It’s time for The New Republic to admit they booted this one.
0000-00-00 00:00:00
And so we see The New Republic finally awakening from its long silence on the Scott Beauchamp issue, to say absolutely nothing, other than it's all the army's fault. Gee. Big surprise. It strikes me, that the real show of bad faith here, was, is currently, and shows ...

What is with The New Republic?
0000-00-00 00:00:00
For the third time in the last two days, the website of The New Republic has come out with a decidedly "Democrat-Unfreindly" article. Here, we have one from Jon Cohn, questioning the wisdom of government healthcare, as an example. And I have to ask; Is The New Republic trying to regain ...
