The Next Generation of Young Billionaires...
2008-08-20 23:33:00
http://hipcandy.blogspot.com/20-08/08/next-generation-of-young--billionaires.htmlPotential billionaires are getting younger as evidenced by Tyler Perry and Tiger Woods..When 32-year-old Tiger Woods returns to the links from a knee injury, he'll continue a financial rise that could crown him the first billionaire to make his money through sports. We predict it could happen as soon as 2011 because of Tiger's lucrative endorsement deals. The most recent Forbes Celebrity 100 list estimated that 38-year-old entertainer Tyler Perry banked $125 million last year. The talented Perry, who produces, directs and acts in his creations, earned more than Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise and Bon Jovi combined. Building a billion-dollar fortune in the entertainment business is extraordinarily rare but certainly not impossible, as evidenced by Steven Spielberg, worth an estimated $3 billion, and George Lucas, worth an estimated $3.9 billion.Read the rest of "Billionaires: The Next Generation" here.

Cepheid (CPHD): The 'next generation' of diagnostics
2008-07-07 05:00:00
"I still love Cepheid (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/quote.htm?sym=) (NASDAQ: CPHD (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/quote.htm?sym=cphd))," says biotechnology sector expert Michael Shulman (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/ccount/click.php?id=2142) in his always-fascinating ChangeWave Biotech Investor (http://www.thestockadvisors.co-m/ccount/click.php?id=2142).The- advisor explains, "Cepheid does genetic testing of the things that can make us sick or kill us. The company is at the forefront of the next generation of diagnostics testing, and has real products already on the market." Here is his review."Cepheid has had outrageous sales success in the past few quarters and, therefore, has excellent profits looming. However, the true value for the company is its long-term potential. "CPHD broke out about a year ago with a new test for the killer staph infection, MRSA, and the test is an order-of-magnitude better than any the competition has. "A combination of tremendous public pressure an...

Just like in previous versions, Every copy of Vista is covered by Microsoft's Gold Standard - Sinkhole of support. Is it any wonder we ask "Where are we going today?" Read More...

New spy photos of the next generation BMW 5 Series
2008-05-23 01:15:00
Once again, the fellows at CarMagazine UK bring some "goodies" to the bimmer world. The 2009 BMW 5 Series has been spotted doing some laps around the Nurburgring track. The car is still heavily camouflaged, but for a change, we get to see some different photos than the ones we have seen before of the test mule being driven around Munich. Unfortunately, the photos are not revealing at all, so the best we can deduct from them is the large kidney grill that apparently will be sported on this new model. Hopefully the next weeks will bring us some better spy photos where we can see exactly what BMW has been hiding from us for so long.  Photos CarMagazine UK Continued here

DVD Review: Speed Racer the Next Generation: The Beginning

Hot on the heels of the motion picture adaptation comes this new generation of Speed Racer, which sets up the new animated half-hour TV series airing on the Nicktoons Network.
getting insight from web research- the next generation
2008-05-13 15:52:00
People have been using the web to do consumer research for over a decade. Its had its fair share of problems especially in quant, where it's already been proven that only a very distinct group of consumers ever complete surveys online. However, as people become comfortable with sharing more and more of their lives online, it's becoming a very interesting place to get a feel for what people are thinking and doing. People are using blogging tools and media uploading tools to help them get a better understanding of their consumers and these are often richer and more insightful than the typical focus group. With 2.0 technologies, all this only going to improve. One example I really like is Noah Brier's Brand Tagging project. This simple application that allows people to enter words they associate with specific brands and see the results from others. What I like here is that the tool employs some good thinking. It feels more like play, than research. It doesn't take a lot of time and...

What is this Speed Racer the Next Generation: The Beginning DVD?
2008-05-02 00:35:00
This movie is a complete 180 from what I am normally a custom to watching, I have never watched an episode of Speed Racer before today, the only animated series that I can compare it to would be The Transformers which I watched regularly years ago, is very simpler to this Speed Racer. The Speed Racer The Next Generation: The Beginning on DVD focusing on Speed's orphaned son as he juggles school life at the Racing Academy which includes the pursuit of building a car with a gasless engine, while uncovering secrets behind his father's disappearance. The movie features Peter Fernandez (as Headmaster Spritle) which is the voice of Speed Racer in the classic TV series and the man responsible for the lyrics of original Speed Racer theme song. The DVD which is released on Tuesday, May 6th, the bonus’s include The Making of Speed Racer: The Next Generation, The Virtual Track Racing Game, Trailer Gallery and more. Speed Racer The Next Generation: The Beginning sets up and launches the new ...
Speed Racer: The Next Generation DVD Giveaway!
2008-04-29 02:29:00
Yes, we are holding another contest on Geek Parenting! Read on for details? In case you've been living under a rock, Speed Racer is back. Not only are The Wachowski Brothers about to release a live-action movie based on the classic show, Nicktoons has a new series on the horizon called Speed Racer: The Next Generation. I just had the pleasure of watching the animated film that kicks off the new cartoon series. Speed Racer: The Next Generation is a blast and should please both old school and new fans. It manages to update the appeal of the show while still paying homage to the original (starting with a punk rock cover of the famous theme song). This series is compelling to me because it's a continuation of the Speed Racer story, not a spin-off or remake. In true Speed Racer style, there are dramatic reveals and unfolding story arcs, so I don't want to give away too much information. I will say that it involves young students at an elite "Racing Academy." In fact, you quickly ...

Listening and Seeing: The Next Generation
2008-04-26 15:26:00
On the latest Sky At Night Sir Patrick Moore brought the most welcome news that Jodrell Bank is not to close due to a recent science funding cock-up. This is a great relief as in addition to seeing - we need to listen too. The Hubble Space Telescope will have its final servicing mission in August:This will prolong the life of Hubble a true wonder with the images it has sent home to Earth and a fitting last flight for Space Shuttle Atlantis. As we look forward even further to the Next Generation Telescope now called the James Webb Space Telescope astronomy is not only cool but it's hot and heavy too. Here is a discipline that ensures it samples all the available data streams open to it in order to test, verify, learn and progress. Out on the leading edge of astronomical data windows such as gravity waves, it is a case of discovering just how to listen and see. Diagnostic medicine benefits enormously from existing and new ways to investigate anatomy, physiology and pathological proces...

Coaching the Next Generation of FOSS Developers
2008-04-06 17:09:00
Each year it seems that there are more and more grumblings about how commercial Open Source conferences are moving further and further away from Free Software and Open Source communities. Incongruously, some of the loudest (or at least most noticed) complaining comes from some of the most consistent participants on the conference circuit. I myself have joined in the guilty pleasure of kvetching about how this year's iteration of a given conference just doesn't have the same soul as some previous year.

Is this the next-generation Acura NSX?
2008-03-31 22:50:00
Is this the next-generation Acura NSX? Acura's production NSX supercar was supposed to bow at last year's Tokyo Motor Show, but an internal debate among Honda's designers forced Acura to delay the launch of the next-generation NSX. But, thanks to a new rendering, we may have the first glimpse of what the road-going Acura NSX will look like. The rendering comes from Japan's Best Car magazine. While it remains unclear if Best Car created the rendering off of solid insider information or just wishful thinking, the illustration of the NSX looks a bit too tamed for the supercar realm. But on the plus side, this NSX is void of Acura's new thick-framed front grille. While the NSX's design may still be a mystery, we do know that the new NSX will use a V10 engine and will likely feature Acura's SH-AWD. Whatever the case, it shouldn't be too long before Acura takes the wrap off of the next-generation NSX as Honda has confirmed the car will hit the U.S....
FINANCIAL REFORMS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
2008-03-29 08:21:00
Less than eight months ago when the Planning Commission set up a committee under Raghuram Rajan to suggest next generation financial sector reforms it could not possibly have envisaged how incongruous it would be to talk of reform when government is engaged in the very antithesis of reform: loan waivers. In such a scenario, the committee’s recommendations can be best described as an eloquent reminder of the contrast between ‘what is’ and ‘what could be’. To its credit, the committee seems to have a keen awareness of the political economy considerations that govern any reform process in India. Hence, unlike previous committees on financial sector reform, the Gen-Next committee has taken care to suggest a broad macroeconomic framework within which its recommendations need to be anchored. This is important because many of the reforms needed to transform the financial sector into one befitting a 21st century economic powerhouse that India ho...

The next generation of video broadcasting (www.blogtv.com)

See my title? Well, as a thinking-to-become-a-pro-blogge-r, I really spend my time digging around the internet for the latest blogging tools. Today, I found this very interesting site which provides live tv called BlogTV.Basically this is a place where you can create live show and chat with your audience. This is where you can make it like a blog. You will be the master of the things that you want to broadcast. You can put up some live broadcast such as your own created song, your new learned yoga, your baby first step, and even your ugly dance! Anyway, this is the time where everyone can feel like a star, create a base and tell the world who you are and what you are all about!Besides, I really like its web layout. It is far more pro-look than YouTube or MetaCafe. BlogTV has won several awards worldwide including the GSM ?Best Made for Mobile? award in Barcelona, and the GMCA ?New Trend Leader? award at the Seoul digital forum. This is why I think BlogTV will be leading the trend on ...

Is this a glimpse of the next-generation 3G iPhone design?
2008-03-08 12:15:00
Well, given Apple (really, Steve Jobs's) penchant for tight-lipped secrecy about upcoming products (how many times have we heard that "Apple does not comment on unannounced products?"), it seems unlikely that they let an image of the next-generation 3G iPhone leak out. The image you see to the left is a curious discovery made by iLounge while browsing through the Education First Educational Tours page. The picture was leaked on iTunes, of all places, and was spotted as iPhone developers were looking into creating pages in iTunes to deliver content to iPhone and iPod Touch users. Now, it's nice to think that Apple let this pic slip past their censors, but it's hard to imagine that a leak of this magnitude happened on Apple own iTunes-turf. Still, it's sure would be nice to see the next-gen 3G iPhone sport a huge display that dominates the design - even more so than the current iPhone.Source: http://ipodnewsblog.blogspot.co-m/

Welcome to the Next Generation of Wii homebrewFiled under: News, HomebrewObviously we don't advocate the use of emulators to play copyrighted games (unless you're Howard Sega and you own the copyrights), but this news is too cool to pass up. Coder ekeeke has released a new version of the Genesis Plus GX emulator that can be run on the Wii using the Twilight Hack exploit. In addition to its awesome "running on the Wii" feature, this version runs Virtua Racing, which is quite the achievement because of the extra hardware on the Virtua Racing cartridge. We're mostly pleased with this development as evidence of the rapid progression of Wii homebrew, although we do appreciate the ability to play McDonalds' Treasure Land Adventure on the Wii. We don't see that particular Treasure (yes, Treasure) masterpiece being released on the Virtual Console any time soon.[Thanks, craig!]Permalink | Em-ail this | Linking B-logs | Comments Ads by Google Link - Comm...

Social networking: the next generation
2008-02-12 00:36:00
Have you ever noticed how social networks don’t do a very good job of representing how our personal networks actually function? Sure, places like Facebook and MySpace and LinkedIn have their utility, but their flatness is a problem. Think about your Facebook, for instance. If it’s like mine, you have friends there who run the gamut from “real life best friend” to “people I know” to “guy I couldn’t pick out of a lineup if my life depended on it.” You may have relatives, friends from school, co-workers and “assorted others.” And they’re all absolutely equal. Our LinkedIn networks can be even less attuned to how our lives works. More at Black Dog

Working of VoIP: the next generation phone
2008-02-06 20:09:00
Voice over Internet protocol or VoIP is the newest innovation to the years old audio communication technology. The IP telephony transmits voice, video and data over the broadband networks. The process of calling over the VoIP is quite akin to a normal phone; however, it uses high-speed Internet service, which makes it all the more invaluable. It reduces per-minute call as the technology is based on the packet switching technique of the Internet. IP telephony caters to the need of international market by offering lower rates for long distance and international calling. Features like cost efficiency, reliability, functionality, security and scalability in IP telephony has made it right choice for the 'next' Generation people. For availing the benefits of VoIP calling, users must be equipped with an Internet service, ATA or Analog terminal Adaptor, a handset as well as an IP service. A VoIP call is based on the packet switching technology that converts the audio or analog signals int...
The Next Generation of Solar Cell
2008-02-05 19:25:00
Conventional solar cells are expensive to produce and inefficient. They are produced with silicon and exotic materials which attempt to boost their effectiveness. In truth, the typical solar cell captures only about 20% of the potential solar energy and, obviously, are completely ineffective after the sun has set.A group from the National Idaho Laboratory is attempting to change that. Their new solar cell design is made up of tiny spiraling antennas printed on a thin film. Each "nanoantenna" is about 1/25 the thickness of a human hair, and made up of common materials. The result is a thin, flexible and cheap solar cell that is 80% effective and can collect energy for hours after sunset. The solar cells collect energy through resonance, the same way a television antenna picks up a signal. The difference is that the nanoantennae is designed on a scale to capture infrared waves. The key is that as the Earth heats up, it gives off infrared waves which can be collected by the anten...
