Multiculturalism and Socialism: The Odd Couple
2008-08-30 08:14:00
The latest death toll figures from Hurricane Katrina can be seen on this website here. The famous Russian neo-Nazi video is on this blog here.Updated September 2:In the comments section, Scott, who is a White nationalist, discusses the disconnect between multiculturalism and socialism or social democracy.Yes, we do allow White nationalists, even anti-Black ones, on the board, but every time a cute Black woman shows up on the board, we force them to kiss her. On the lips. On penalty of banning. None have left yet. Brown sugar, how come you taste so good? Scott says: Look at the countries that have the highest index of egalitarianism in the West: Iceland, Norway, Sweden (used to have more). The inhabitants are all pretty closely related to one another. I'll spot my sibling $100 cash. It's basically the same thing but in a less dramatic way in such countries, but when other nationalities come in because of the aforementioned ethnostates' welfare system, as seek to take advantage of ...
Soundtrack Sundays: ?The Odd Couple? by Neal Hefti (1968)

Neal Hufti - The Odd Couple(1968)Blaxploitation's description:The original motion picture score to the original funny double-act's best-loved movie? We like this record. Don't expect a wall-to-wall jazz or groovy score: it's not. It includes some very funny (and very sampler-friendly) dialogue from the movie, along with several reprises of the great loungey, mellow main theme. There's also one outstanding little groovy number, Metropole. As you'd expect from Hefti, the music is very jazzy, and uses a great harpsichord-style riff throughout, augmented by low tenor sax and some good organ in places. Very much a warm, enjoyable album with a sentimental twist. One for listening rather than playing out.Neal Hufti - The Odd Couple(1968)[Rapidshare Link]...Blaxploitation Soundtracks... I
Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple
2008-04-20 04:03:00
The sophomore release from the weirdest music duo to ever make the mainstream music stage, is sharper and more linear, yet misses some of the zany and jubilant trademarks from the first album. From a moody singer comes an even darker album than its predecessor. Mixing genre-busting beats and accompaniment, Cee-Lo provides the vocals as ...
Gnarls Barkley The Odd Couple Album Review
2008-03-28 20:33:00
Gnarls Barkley are a musical tandem uniquely suited for each other - both men are as enigmatic as they are fascinating. Whether singing or rapping, Thomas DeCarlo Callaway b/k/a Cee-Lo lays his entire life on the line lyrically. Few artists have ever been such an open book when it comes to discussing religion, sexuality, politics and everything from self-loathing to exuberant joy. Brian Joseph Burton b/k/a Danger Mouse puts the E in eclectic like few producers have before him or since. A broad range of artists have called on Mr. Mouse for his beats, ranging from cult hip-hop favorites MF DOOM and Jemini the Gifted One to chart-topping sensations Gorillaz and The Rapture. His sound is a square peg that doesn't fit neatly into the round holes of any one genre. It would be far too easy to say his rap sounds like eletronica, his pop sounds like rock or his rock sounds like rap. For Burton such distinctions are entirely malleable - he can freeform shape music into anything th...
Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple - 2008

Gnarls Barkley: The Odd CoupleThe supergroup collaboration between Goodie Mob founder Cee-Lo Green and producer Danger Mouse spawned one of the biggest hits of 2006 with "Crazy". Cee-Lo's soulful vocals and Danger Mouse's on-point production made the duo a critical and commercial success. Two years later they release their sophomore release, The Odd Couple. Originally slated for release in April, the group pushed up the release by almost a month once the album leaked on to the internet. The album was released on iTunes on March 18th and the album will officially grace store shelves tomorrow. The biggest question plaguing the group was if it was possible to follow up the monster success of their debut."Sophomore Slump" is a term thrown around quite a lot in the music industry but this album seems to be one. It's hard to say who was at fault in this gaff. I would place a decent amount on Danger Mouse. His production is so experimental that its impossible to hear even an influen...

Gnarls Barkley returns with their sophomore album The Odd Couple (Atlantic), make sure you all pick up your copy April 8th, 2008! I’ve been turned onto Gnarls Barkley’s randomness (good random, though) when I first heard their single ‘Crazy’. The Odd Couple? Maybe. Rivals? Oh Yes
2008-01-26 12:08:00
Who, you might be asking? Why, the New York Yankees' Brian Cashman and Theo Epstein of the Boston Red Sox. One month after the pair appeared in Boston for a Q & A session, they were together again, in Wayne, New Jersey. It seems like the two get along in the off season, to a degree, when the wheeling and dealing puts them at opposite ends of the spectrum. This is from Sports illustrated dot com, and then I'll be back with a comment...I deal with all 28 teams," the Yankees' Cashman said with a wink when asked about his negotiating strategy, pointedly leaving out the 29th team, Boston. "Then, when I'm about to hang up with the 28th team, I say, 'Hey, do you know what Boston's up to?'"During a session with reporters before the (Wayne, N.J.) event, Epstein brushed off a question about Boston's interest in Minnesota left-hander Johan Santana and refused to make any predictions for the upcoming season."We're just trying to build a team that can compete in the toughest division in...

The Odd Couple - Mikhail Gorbachev and Louis Vuitton
2007-07-30 09:13:00
I would never have imagined Mikhail Gorbachev appearing in a fashion campaign, even if it is only for a bag.The ad itself is beautifully shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, and is extremely powerful visually.I am not a fan of the monogram Louis Vuitton bag because of the amount of fakes that flooded the market, which now make the bags look cheap and tacky. I would assume Louis Vuitton are aware of this and in an attempt to shake that image have put a man of great esteem, power and respectability in their ad.Clever.Sourcehttp://redcarpe-tfashionawards.blogspot.com/fee-ds/posts/default?alt=rss
