They've been coming out of left field since their first album, but their latest joint didn't seem to be making quite the splash they're used to. Well I caught a glimpse of their video for "Goin' On" and after having their CD for over a month now -- it inspired me to go back and listen again. I'm loving the new video, which was shot in Jamaica by Wendy Morgan. You gotta take a look. Loves It. Obviously you could never expect an average r&b video from Gnarls -- who I know stretch beyond the boundaries of r&b anyway -- though you can't deny their soulfulness. Who picked up The Odd Couple? Whether singing or rapping, Thomas DeCarlo Callaway b/k/a Cee-Lo lays his entire life on the line lyrically. Few artists have ever been such an open book when it comes to discussing religion, sexuality, politics and everything from self-loathing to exuberant joy. Brian Joseph Burton b/k/a Danger Mouse puts the E in eclectic like few producers have before him or since.
