Man...Or Astroman? have always been the best in my book (of course, they're from Alabama, I'm biased), as they put out top-notch records and were always great live (are their records even in print anymore? I've got to post some of their stuff sometime). However, the genre has it's shortcomings. The first time I ever heard Gein and the Graverobbers was probably 3 or 4 years ago, right about the same time I heard the Ghastly Ones (who are the same thing but marginally better). They both play surf rock that is really sort of a take on what the Ventures would do with the Munsters theme. The Ghastly Ones put out a record called A-Haunting We Will Go that's a really cool, goofy surf record, and Gein and the Graverobbers had Songs in the Key of Evil. Lost Spoilers vs. the Passions of Curiosity: No Big Deal
2007-06-01 00:51:00 Lost producers Lindelof and Cuse have been lamenting the spoilers that were released about the superb Season 3 finale, and according to some reports, Disney is vowing to track down the source and exact some form of punishment.Maybe because I came up with predictions that were pretty accurate for the finale in my review of Charlie's Greatest Hits episode - including the flip from flashbacks to flashforwards - but I don't see the spoilers as that big a deal. And I'm not the only one who foresaw that wrenching twist - which was still breathtaking even though we saw it coming. Ron Chusid at SciFi Friday saw it, too.In fact, the greatest damage done by the spoilers is they undermine the fun of predictions, and the clout of their being right. If a spoiler is out there, and says the same as your prediction, why should anyone believe that you came up with this all in your demented mind? 2007-04-28 10:22:00 There’s nothing quite like a viewing of the Black Stallion or settling in a comfy chair on a rainy afternoon and delving into the likes of the Silver Brumby or the classic Black Beauty. And really, this is where the passion for horses starts for many.It’s been a very interesting week – working at one of the riding schools and ending up with new instructors and therefore learning even more while in the saddle. This has been topped off by a weekend of teaching today and a gymkhana tomorrow and Monday I’m going to another Thoroughbred Sale. And in less than four weeks time, South Africa! Guess I can’t complain about things being boring ;)I had some friends over last night and yesterday morning in anticipation of wanting to eat lots of junk, I drove down to the local IGA store to stock up on the essentials – chocolate, icecream and Pringles.
