The BlogBlast For Peace Meme ~ Join The Revolution
2008-05-22 18:17:00
My pal Mimi, the QUEEN of meme's, the creator of The Peace Globes, the author of BlogBlast for Peace has come up with a brilliant idea. She is treating her Peace Globes as a meme to spread this wonderful event. I'm going to jump on board and I challenge you to copy and paste this meme on your site and tag absolutely everyone in the blogosphere. Here's what Mimi has to say:Peace Globes did not begin as a meme. But it began to behave like a meme. Blog to blog to blog. Like a fog. We didn't use the word "tag" ....but that's what we did when we invited others in our blogrolls to participate. The fact that you did so without the obligatory tag is proof that the concept is powerful. It's a fact that the fastest and most effective way to spiral an idea out of control in the blogosphere is via a meme. I should know! The 700+ bloggers who participated in past launches (and that truly is the tip of The-Iceberg-I-Never-Found) knows what it means to them. It's about unity. We have that in...

I don't know about you, but I'm on my way out the door today to go buy The Revolution: A Manifesto by Congressman Ron Paul. I know, I can get it cheaper on Amazon, and I intended to, but it will feel so good to march into Border's and plop it on the counter. Ron Paul sent out an e-mail to supporters today announcing the official release of the book, after various appearances this week in the mainstream media to discuss the Ron Paul Revolution and the book.

The Revolution: A Manifesto (Hardcover)
2008-04-22 15:44:00
The Founding Fathers didn't want any of this. In fact, they said so quite clearly in the Constitution of the United States of America. Unfortunately, that beautiful, ingenious, and revolutionary document is being ignored more and more in Washington. If we are to enjoy peace, freedom, and prosperity once again, we absolutely must return to the principles upon which America was founded. But finally, there is hope . . .In THE REVOLUTION,Texas congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has exposed the core truths behind everything threatening America, from the real reasons behind the collapse of the dollar and the looming financial crisis, to terrorism and the loss of our precious civil liberties. In this book, Ron Paul provides answers to questions that few even dare to ask.Despite a media blackout, this septuagenarian physician-turned-congressman sparked a movement that has attracted a legion of young, dedicated, enthusiastic supporters . . . a phenomenon that has amazed veteran...
Ron Paul's new book - "The Revolution - A Manifesto" drops on April 30th
2008-04-21 23:55:00
Not a lot of information on what he's got to say, except this blurb from his campaign:"In "Revolution: A Manifesto," Dr. Paul pulls back the benevolent mask of the state and explains how big government is eroding our freedoms, but also offers solutions about how Americans can restore liberty while offering guidance to grassroots activists about how they can advance the political movement his candidacy inspired."I won't be able to get it over here for awhile, but I hope he drops some "oh, crap, did he really say that!?" bombs. Damn, I miss him. Maybe the Libertarian or Constitutional party will draft him?

Race War 2012 The revolution will be digitized.
2008-03-04 03:17:00
The revolution was televised.America has been crazy going on twenty five years as best as I can remember, especially the urban parts I live in. But I never thought it could get to where it is now, not in a billion million gazillion years. OK that may be a little too concrete, I’ll say I knew this was possible but I justwanted to think it wasn’t. Yea it has been crazy for a while now, but this is insane. It’s kinda simple seeming now looking back, If you look at all the things that happened written down in chronological order, it’s almost obvious. But at the time they were just crazy crap happening along with the other crazy crap. I mean a race war almost had to happen. A race war that there was no way in hell we could have won. Though we are pretty much defeated, statistically at least, we are never going to be defeated mentally. We strike like terrorists, while the real terrorists strike at our once mighty country and Mexicans scramble for position when America falls. We are...
Venezuela: Danger signs for the revolution
2008-02-27 06:44:00
by Bolivia Rising (Kiraz Janicke & Federico Fuentes) In recent weeks, external and internal pressure against Venezuela's Bolivarian revolution, has intensified dramatically. It is clear that US imperialism and the US-backed Venezuelan opposition see the defeat of Chavez's proposed constitutional reforms on December 2 as a green light to push forward their plans to destabilize the government. In addition, growing internal problems, with a strengthening of the right-wing of the Chavista movement - known as the "endogenous right", who support implementing some reforms without breaking with capitalism - pose a serious threat to the survival of the revolution. Chavez's proposed constitutional reforms were aimed at institutionalising greater popular power and increasing restrictions on capitalists to the benefit of working people. In response, the capitalist-owned private media, spearheaded by virulentlyanti-government private television channel Globovision,...

The Revolution Door
2008-02-09 16:39:00
The designers at New York City based Fluxxlab studio have come up with an ingenious sustainable energy harvesting idea that makes you wonder why no one else has thought of it before. Their Revolution Door manages to capture otherwise wasted human energy from the revolving doors we all see at various large buildings. If you think about it, this concept is quite similar to a turbine spinning somewhere deep inside a hydroelectric dam or within wind turbine to generate renewable electricity. The Revolution Door is a modified revolving door comprised of three parts - a redesigned central core replacing that of any existing or new revolving door, a mechanical/electrical system that harnesses human energy and redistributes electricity to an output, and an output device that maps the harnessed energy. By mechanically harvesting a negligible amount of human energy and converting it to a tangible display through the use of a generator, the Revolution Door will directly communicate a single per...

What The Revolution Theme Can Do For You
2008-01-31 12:32:00
With Gobala’s hot contest to win a revolution magazine theme makeover in february there are already some serious contenders. When I read his post it came to me at the right time as I had just launched my local niche blog. I wasn’t happy with the initial template and was toying with Justin Tadlock’s cool free themes since my site is some kind of news portal. But when I saw Gobala’s magazine theme competition for February 2008, I went straight to Brian Gardner’s site and bought a multiple user license. I fell in love with the clean design and style. Also, for buyers there is a great support forum with plenty of coding stars that can help a nookie like me to even change my style sheet some. In the last few days I have been busy getting the blog changed over and ready for the world with a new design. Below is the result: I wanted to show you what is possible with this theme and that you should all enter the competition to be able to start your own local n...

The revolution won't be microwaved
2008-01-28 16:37:00
"The restoration of the Clintons to the White House would trigger a new wave of all-out political warfare. That is not all Bill and Hillary's fault - but it exists, whomever you blame, and cannot be ignored. Hillary Clinton doesn't pretend that it won't happen - she simply vows to persevere, in the hope that her side can win. Indeed, the Clinton's joint career in public life seems oriented toward securing victory and personal vindication." - The State, January 22, 2008It's a testament of how the utter disaster that is the Bush administration can make me lose sight of why the second-term incarnation of the Hil & Bill show left such a bitter taste in my mouth. They alternate between prickly and sleazy while spreading cherry picked disinformation about their opponents as the gospel. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the Clinton Machine will steamroll right over anybody in their way toward the Oval Office, and they're demonstrating that in spades. Innuendo, chara...

The weekend will feature a mixed-generation of musicians, singers, and poets performing from a songbook of protest music from the last 25 years." Jesse Ventura: Don't start the revolution without me
2008-01-05 11:38:00
Sadly, former pro wrestler and Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura is just as big a conspiracy nut as he is an obnoxious loudmouth. His upcoming book, Don't Start the Revolution Without Me!, contains the following gems of insight: He discusses at length the assassination of President Kennedy. He scorns the idea that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, and claims that during a trip to Dallas as governor a police officer warned him to avoid talking too much about "things that certain people don't want brought to light." Ventura also airs his suspicion that "somebody in the government" sent people to infiltrate a government course he taught at Harvard University in 2004, on a day he discussed Kennedy's assassination. He repeatedly shows a fascination with conspiracy theories and surveillance, recalling several encounters he had with CIA agents while governor and claiming that his wife found an electronic listening device at their private home during his term. ... A harsh critic of the U.S....

Doing Our Part for the Revolution
2007-11-20 04:49:00
Today is Día de la Revolución, honoring the start of the Mexican Revolution back in 1910. Well, actually the big day is November 20, but the DECRETO POR EL QUE SE REFORMA El ARTÍCULO 74 DE LA LEY FEDERAL DEL TRABAJO moved the November 20 celebration to the third Monday in November as part of a plan to create three-day holidays. My gardener showed up for work this morning. When I asked him why he wasn’t taking the day off, he informed me that the fiesta was tomorrow. All right, he can take tomorrow off. My plan for a second Sunday this week were dashed, so I went shopping. Most of Morelia did the same, judging from Costco and Mega’s shared parking lot. The U.S. has its grand kickoff of the Christmas season the day after Thanksgiving. In Mexico, the first day of the season really doesn’t begin on the...
Signing the revolution decision
2007-11-18 23:42:00
Some leaders ,if not all of them pay the price of their own decisions ,especially those who are dictators , who do not listen to anyone and do not know the meaning of democracy , who consider their people only as supportive masses that only say their names in pre-organized supporting protests "We sacrifice you with blood and soul" ,those leaders from kings and presidents always make stupid mistakes and take wrong decisions and here I do not mean their decisions that are always against the people and the country , but I mean their own decisions that end their own time , that destroy them. You see some times those leaders take decisions ignoring its results and consequences that may harm their positions as leaders in the country or even in the world paving the road to their own end Sometimes signing these decisions is just like signing's one death certificate. It is the trap of dictators for sure especially if they do not listen to their advisors and they do not put their people's ...
Beijing Restaurant : Toilet Humor "Blasphemes" the Revolution
2007-11-11 20:24:00
It would be safe to say that it's dicey to kid around with CP icons in China. This is especially true when you make light of Mao Zedong and the works of The Great Helmsman.A retro style restaurant in Beijing found out the hard way that when you mess with Mao you can still attract a lot of criticism. The restaurant is called Times Gone Past. It features waiting staff in People's Liberation Army uniforms. Other thematic touches evoke the era of Mao.In an attempt to add a little humor, the washroom area was designated "Liberation Zone".The Beijing News reports that quite a few customers have been shocked by the signage and some even considered it "akin to blaspheming the revolution".The term "liberation" can apply to a number of things, not least the liberating release that comes with taking a whiz. In any case the Mao theme comes across as a fun and original way to publicize the joint, not some covert exercise in subversion. Lighten up.Perhaps the restaurant should consider renaming ...
Incremental Steps to "The Revolution"
2007-11-08 12:58:00
by Bernard Weiner I've been privileged, if that's the right word, to live through the tenures of two of the worst presidents in American history: Richard Nixon, who was forced to resign after his felonious crimes were revealed against the Constitution and the American people, and G.W. Bush, who likely will leave to a rousing citizen chorus of "here's your hat, what's your hurry?, don't let the door you on the way out." In both cases, covering up their lies and crimes associated with reckless wars (Vietnam then, Iraq now) led Nixon and Bush further down the road to authoritarian misrule. Nixon claimed that the Chief Executive cannot violate the law because when a president acts, ipso facto what he's doing cannot be illegal. Bush claims that whenever he says he's acting in the national-security interests of the American people, he can violate whatever law or Constitutional protection he so desires. Furthermore, Bush asserts, the Judicial Branch should not restrain ...
Sher Ali: The revolutionary who had killed the Viceroy
2007-11-04 13:36:00
Only one Viceroy was killed on Indian soil during the freedom movement and though many other revolutionary freedom fighters are remembered, the name of Sher Ali has been completely forgotten. It was in February 1872, when this revolutionary who had been sent to Andaman Islands (Kala Pani), assassinated Lord Mayo, the viceroy who was on a visit to the Andamans where the freedom fighters were kept incarcerated.Richard Bourke, the 6th Earl of Mayo and Viceroy of India, was visiting the Andaman along with high ranking officials and security personnel, when Sher Ali stabbed him to death. When asked why he murdered the viceroy, the man from Tirah valley of Khyber said that 'Khuda ne hukm diya, is waste kiyaa'. He was charged with murder and hanged on Viper islands the next year. One may nor may not agree to the revolutionary ways but that was surely one of the few ways in sight to the ordinary Indians to take on the might of the foreign imperialstic power. Here is the link to the wikimapia...
