2008-04-25 03:20:00 Well I don't blame Willie, he has to get more out of Perez then he's been getting. You simply can't keep only making it to the fifth and then over taxing the pen. Perez has consistently fell apart in the fifth inning and after the second start this season where he was given a lead, he has allowed the other team back into the game. So in the fifth with a three run lead when most top level pitchers shut the door on a lesser team he couldn't find strike zone and allowed the Nationals to tie the game. Seeing him come out for the sixth I understood what Willie was doing but I also knew what was going to happen. He was going to walk a few guys and either give up the game or get in trouble and be relieved which by mid-season will kill the pen. Why Perez goes from looking so dominant to wild, right around the same time every game is bewildering but one thing is clear he can't get it back together on the mound.
