Totally Unfounded Rumor We Want To See Become Fact: Sure, Chris Harrison, we’re bummed that you and your wife of 18 years are calling it quits. But now you can finally go from talking about THE BACHELOR’s hot tub hook-ups to having them by going from host to star!   The Biggest Loser: Talk about backing the wrong horse! HBO’s LUCK wound up losing the net $35 million bucks and is still, despite having been cancelled, being attacked by the folks at PETA, who’ve now given new meaning to the term “beating a dead horse.”   Least Sexy Sex Club: The GOSSIP GIRL gang hit a private, mobile brothel… which somehow came off as about as dirty as an episode of ROMPER ROOM.   The Hypocrites-Are-Us Award Goes To… : MTV, who last month was reportedly upset about the sexed-up image its TEEN MOM stars were projecting by having boob jobs, nevertheless tagged along as one of them (Janelle Evans) got one.   Even Less Sexy Than The Above-Mentioned Party: Lifetime’s reality outing, ...

By BOB ANDELMAN I don?t know about you, but I?ve enjoyed a lifetime of lovable old lady neighbors who mixed sweetness and wisdom with a bit of a screw loose. Growing up, it was Mrs. Snyder, whose lawn I mowed and had to meticulously de-thatch every week because she couldn?t stand to have a blade of old, dead grass in it. When I reached high school, imagine my surprise to discover she would be my guidance counselor and have live-or-death influence over whether I made it into a good college or a bad college.  -------------- LISTEN TO KATHRYN JOOSTEN INTERVIEW! -------------- When I became a homeowner, the seller warned my wife and I about the old, old lady across the street. He said she watched everyone on the block from her living room window and wouldn?t hesitate to call the police if we stepped even slightly out of line. Fortunately, her daughter and caretaker, Mrs. Logan?then 65?was nothing like her mother and became a trusted friend. But what would you make of disc...

Simply click here to check it out and get ready to enjoy over 154 hours of how we wish our elected officials conducted themselves.
Take 10: Our Favorite Moments from THE WEST WING
2008-10-16 20:07:00
As I’m wont to do, this TV Addict spent yesterday afternoon working far too hard well, not working. Was I breaking my cardinal rule by watching television during the day? Absolutely not! I was surfing the net. And for that my fellow TV Addicts, I blame GiveMeMyRemote and new contributor Kari, who decided to drive me bonkers by posting their Top 5 Favorite Episodes of THE WEST WING. You see, as is often the case with these “Top 5 Lists,” I couldn’t disagree more with Kari’s choices [seriously, brilliant idea GMMR!]. I mean hello?! How did “Let Bartlett Be Bartlett” not make the Top 5? It’s maddening!!! [Hence the completely gratuitous overuse of exclamation points]. Which is why I immediately set about replaying all 156 episodes of THE WEST WING in my head to figure out theTVaddict.com’s definitive Top 5 favorites. Cut to three hours later, DVD sets strewn everywhere and one very tired TV Addict. Turns out that widdling down Aaron...

Good News: Jason Priestley will return to 90210. Bad News: To direct an upcoming episode. [Source] Good News: Martin Sheen reminisces about the fictional Bartlett administration. Bad News: With Paris Hilton. [Video] Good News: The women of THE VIEW are crazy as the daily gabfest continues to devolve into a rip-roaring can’t miss political free-for-all. Bad News: I’m almost starting to feel bad for Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Emphasis on the “almost.” [Source] Good News: Nathan Fillion’s return with CASTLE looks fantastic. Bad News: Which means it will likely last a solid four episodes before its abruptly canceled. [Trailer]

Ron Silver Called ?Ron, Ron, The Neocon? by West Wing Castmates
2007-11-16 23:18:00
Ron Silver has written a great piece for Pajamas Media in which he describes what it’s like being a Bush supporter in Hollywood. The actor says on the set of The West Wing, his castmates would chant “Ron, Ron, the neocon.” It’s very refreshing to see someone in Hollywood not drinking the Kool-Aid. He’s taken quite ...

A Lesson From The West Wing

Say NO to the Saudi Arms Deal
The West Wing
2007-03-11 11:12:00
I argued in this blog's previous posting on 7 March that in multilateral negotiating situations, ?nice but retaliatory? strategies like Tit or Tat run into difficulty because it?s very difficult to discriminate against non-reciprocators (See "You scratch my back ...).One reason for this is that groups are much more prone to defectors and free riders the larger they become. It?s hard to identify those we should retaliate against. A recurrent theme in The West Wing, an American television series about the life of a fictional U.S. President, is the difficulty, not so much in retaliating militarily against terrorist attacks, but in identifying and locating the perpetrators without killing lots of blameless civilians. Israeli military forces encounter this problem each time they retaliate against attacks by the many Palestinian factions and splinter groups pitted against their occupation of the Gaza Strip and West Bank. In real life it?s hard to come up with strategies that strike t...
