The first draft of Charles Darwin?s Theory of Evolution is among thousands of his private papers made accessible online for the very first time. For decades these were only available to scholars at Cambridge University Library. But they can now be seen free of charge by anyone around the globe at Darwin Online (http://darwin-online.org.uk/).- The publication of Darwin?s private papers is the largest in history, totalling about 20,000 items in nearly 90,000 images. As well as the first draft of his theory of evolution, the vast collection of Darwin-related items includes thousands of notes and drafts of his scientific writings, notes from the voyage of the Beagle - with his musings on Galapagos birds - and his first recorded doubts about the permanence of species. It also contains photographs of Darwin and his family, newspaper clippings, reviews of his books and much more. On a less scientific note, there is material r...

In the last episode, I talked about the development of evolutionary theory leading up to Darwin and his contemporaries. Now it's time to turn to the man himself... Today, the 12th of February, 2008, is the 199th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. Since this has been dubbed "Darwin Day," and all sorts of events are planned for the upcoming year commemorating Darwin's turning the "big 200" in 2009, I thought it'd be a good time to discuss how evolutionary theory has changed over the centuries, and what Darwin's unique contributions really were... The Theory Of EvolutionThe Scourge Of The Modern World

"Secular Humanists" have a major problem. What are they going to do about the LIES they have been teaching for over 100 years about "The Theory of Evolution". The "Scientific Community" has a major problem. What are they going to do about the LIES they have been teaching concerning the beginning of the universe. The solution to your problems is easy. TELL THE TRUTH. In the Beginning..GOD. Tell the TRUTH about your false religions - "The Theory of Evolution" and the "Big Bang Theory of Creation". After 200 plus years of digging, and thousands of reconstructed skeletons, "Evolutionists", "Secular Humanists"and "Scientists" still can not explain the absence of "so-called" cross over species. The reason: THERE ARE NO CROSS OVER SPECIES. There never were and never will be.Without these "missing links" "Evolution" is a fraud and anyone that believes in it has serious mental problems. The evidence is overwhelming and undeniable. GOD created all the complex life forms we see in the ...

The Incredible Theory of Evolution

Done with the semester and finally getting back to exploring some Big Ideas in science. The specific criticisms of evolutionary theory by opponents has changed over the years, but the basic premise for the opposition has not. The debate is often separated into the "science vs. religion" groups, but--especially when Darwin published his ideas--this opposition is more fundamental than a religious objection. The discovery of fossils caused people to realize that organisms were not permanent players in the arena of life; life has remained present on Earth, but organisms have come and gone. The idea of extinction shook a basic premise of a prevailing worldview, but Darwin's idea took this realization to a new level. With the Origin of Species, Darwin did more than provide a mechanism for speciation: linking together all organisms on the planet led to the conclusion that humans are animals as well! We are the member of a species, subject to the same selection effects as any other living cre...
