Raging Thunder is available now for download via Installer, and while it is in it’s early stages, the game is looking very promising. Not only does it use the accelerometer to control the game, but there are several methods of play available as well. For whatever reason, you can not play the game with the iPhone tilted horizontally. It is not as if it is impossible to play if it has to be vertical, it just seems that it would be much easier if you could tilt the iPhone, and play while it is on its side. The controls are very sensitive, it does not take much of a tilt to slam your car into the side rail. It also appears that there is no way to control the amount of gas, at least that I could see from the video. The game is absolutely packed with bugs. Just during the short video demo, there were multiple freezes. Also, the screen lost responsiveness at least twice. Though there are some is...

Raging Thunder isn’t actually done yet on the iPhone (obviously—judging by this video there are more glitches on this thing than a Matrix full of black cats), but once it gets rolling, the award-winning game, put together by Polarbit, looks like a pretty sweet racing experience. Usher utilized the best studio players of the day, who also worked with the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean, including Billy Strange, Glen Campbell, Leon Russell, Ray Pohlman, Hal Blaine, and Jerry Cole. Originally issued on Capitol in early 1964, Thunder Road was the first full-length LP by the Super Stocks and includes 11 cuts loosely based around car themes, specifically the title track, which had been a 1958 hit for actor Robert Mitchum from the film of the same name. The remaining ten cuts are similar high-speed hot rod anthems, including "Trophy Run," "Draggin' Deuce," "Hot to Trot," and "Custom Caravan."
