Bus Drivers Don't Want to Personally Pay for Red Light Tickets
2009-08-20 01:10:00 City bus drivers filed a complaint today against the Regional Transportation Authority to stop the practice of requiring the bus drivers to personally pay for their own red light tickets. According to the complaint, beginning in 2006, "red light cameras" were installed at certain street intersections throughout the western suburbs that, when activated by a vehicle driving through a red light, captured the vehicle's license plate. The complaint goes on to state that the defendant (specifically, the Pace West division of the Pace Suburban Bus Division of the RTA) then began a practice of reassigning the tickets to the individual bus operators....
